We ordered from here via the yelp app, a couple nights ago. The order arrived 1 minute, before the scheduled time. The order was also 100% accurate. Items were fairly warm. It was below 0 outside, so that was sweet (Awesome). What we ordered: Vegetable Samosa (Awesome - Delicious), Tandoori Chicken (Great - Cooked well & flavorful), Butter Chicken (Awesome - Buttery, Creamy & Super Flavor), Basmati Rice (Great - Nice Texture), Garlic & Basil Naan (Awesome - Out of This World), Papadam (Good - Not My Fav), Mango Lassi (Great) & Chai-Spiced Tea (Great). The food here is phenomenal. We've been trying different dishes every time (trying to find the perfect combination) and we're getting close. The Saag Paneer was really good but they were out when we ordered once so the chef recommended Baigan Bhartha instead. Holy crap is it delicious and smoky and did I mention delicious? SUPER RUDE. I called to place a take out order at 8:30, this restaurant closes at 9. I thought that half an hour was enough time and since it was takeout I didn't think there would be a problem. So I call, and ask I can place an order. The first thing this man says is yes, but "hurry up" bc they are closing. I say that I can order another day if the kitchen is closed, he tells me to just order. I try to order what I wanted and he yells through the phone "why did you wait until the last minute?" I was so shocked I told him I no longer wanted to buy at this place and he hung up on me. First of all I wanted to help a local business but it seems like the owners don't want you to eat their food! I was recommend by a friend to try this place and although I was skeptical, I've gotta say I cannot wait to go back. In London, I had amazing Indian. In LA I found great Indian. This restaurant is my favorite Indian food that I've eaten in any state. We always get the lamb korma, butter chicken, coconut lamb, & tikka marsala. The owner and his family are wonderful people and even during the pandemic they held out hope to be able to continue serving Billings. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Considering we are in the heart of Montana and beef country, I was impressed by this place. I'm thinking that the variability in reviews may come from the naan being great when flavored, but when ordered plain- they may consider making it as a dry flatbread type. Only one waitress (they're running a bit lean for a new place that's only been open 1 month I think that's why they only have one waitress.). Nice decor / ambience. I don't come back anymore. The food is good, but it is not a trustable place. I went there last week and have paid in two diferentes cards. One card $40,00 and no tips and 2nd card with the rest of the amount plus the tip for the interest value. Awful. Food on steam table was worryingly cold. Naan was not fresh, pakora were mealy and crumbly. Service was indifferent.

This place is really amazing. They have so many options but they are all so good (don't actually know about all, but everything I've had has been phenomenal) My absolute favorite is the Chicken Tikka Misala and plain naan. And the Tandoori Chicken is right behind that. Not sure why they aren't very busy (unless we go in at off times) but if you haven't been you should definitely go. The service is friendly and prompt. I can't say enough good things about this place, the best part was they had beef curry on the menu. For those of you that don't know, Indians traditionally do not eat beef. Thank you baby Jesus!!! Anyone who reads my reviews knows I'm obsessed with Indian food, and lately, it hasn't been easy to find during my travels.. So imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this gem! I waited, people. Me- WAITED?! Well- When I got here at 3 PM, there was a sign that said they wouldn't open until 4:30, so I went up the road, got my nails done, called & was told they wouldn't be open until 5. At this point, I'm hangry, and it's a small miracle I didn't start kicking and screaming like a toddler. Well folks, Lemme tell you- it was WORTH the wait! The chicken masala was spot on, as well as the veggie korma. The lamb curry has a bit of a weird perfume to it at first bite- Dont worry, mid chew you'll forget all about it as you melt into your seat. Oh, & The garlic naan is PERFECT! I wish I could comment on the food quality. Unfortunately I ordered delivery, and was given a 20 minute delivery time, 35 minutes later I called to check on it. I was told the driver was 5 minutes away. 30 minutes later I called back, I was once again told 5 minutes. I was surprised to find such delicious Indian food in billings. The staff was super helpful, it was quiet even though there were a good number of customers, and the food was fantastic. Understand before you go that Indian food is always a little more expensive because they normally use all fresh ingredients. Flatbread, or naan, is normally dry since it isn't a deli roll. And Indian food is never super fast. It's a real dinner, not McDonald's. Loved this place and can't wait to go back. read more

Lunch buffet review: My random travels brought me here after seeing the "lunch buffet" sign. You know the Vegas girl in me couldn't resist a buffet...especially since I have a PhD in buffetology! Enough about that! The lady who greeted me was quite pleasant. "Sit wherever you like." The buffet was clean and there were ample plates, bowls and silverware for the taking. I have a motto of "I'll try anything twice (within reason) & most things are reasonable to me! Well, I went back to the buffet twice thinking there was something I missed. There was the standard Indian buffet fare: butter chicken, veggies pakora, naan bread, salad, condiments, etc, but EVERYTHING was making any real flavor. It just tasted like it was "dumbed down" Plus they had turkey meatballs in some sort of "Indian gravy." Whaaaa? ! Indian food for the American palate, I suppose.Plus, the temperature of everything was luke warm. Tasted like a health department violation to me. Anyway, I guess this is what I get for wanting ethnic food in Montana where they probably have an east Indian population of 12 (just this one family? ). I really wanted to love this place, but I just couldn't. Nonetheless, the restaurant and restroom is clean and the people are pleasant. My water was pre-emptively refilled, too. Its rare to find good authentic middle eastern food but this exceeded all expectations glad I stopped by on my way through billings got chicken tandoori, chicken tandoori wings, chicken masala and chicken curry all were perfect would definitely get again if I came through here! read more

There aren't a lot of food options in Billings which makes this place extra special. I had the Aloo Gobi and the Naan. Both were delicious.

Billings' second Indian restaurant is run by the same owners as A Taste of India downtown. The food is just as good but India Grill has combination dinners for one or two which gives you a chance to try several dishes. My friend and I had the vegetarian combo.
