Got take-out from India Chaat Cafe and it was ready in about 15 minutes. My wife and I each got the chicken tikka masala and shared a side of garlic naan as well as butter chicken rolls. It was packaged very neatly. The butter chicken rolls are like fried mozzarella sticks but instead of mozzarella, it was stuffed with butter chicken. Comes with two sauces. They were tasty! The chicken tikka was delicious. Spice levels come 1-7, we got a 2 and it didn't have a kick at all, so next time I would want to try a 3-4. One entree was enough for the both of us to split for dinner, and we had the second one as leftovers the following day. Garlic naan is huge and tasted great. For $60.00 we got 2 drinks (sprite and fanta), 1 bottle of water, 2 samosa $4.50 which had great flavor crunchy on the outside and creamy in the middle, choley $11.49 chickpeas cooked in curry with 2 puffed deep fried pieces of bread, chicken tikka Masada $15.95 chicken with creamy curry (tomato sauce, cream, and butter) yumm, chicken vindaloo $15.95 chicken and potatoes in a tangy hot sauce, and 2 orders of rice. The food came out within 10 minutes of ordering all packed in to go containers which I loved. They have paper plates and plastic utensils out for you to eat in. I'd done doordash here but I'd never been in person. We decided to eat in and give it a try. It's a walk up counter where you order then you sit and they bring your food. We ordered lamb saag and chicken tikka masala. The saag had an orange sauce with little spinach or cream. It tasted very similar to the tikka masala. Four of us ordering, our bill was over $125 and we ate on a tiny table with styrofoam plates with plastic forks. I tipped well but the service was non existent. We got our own waters from a water cooler and cleaned our table when we were done. The staff was not very friendly, it's almost like eating in was an imposition. If you have to pee while enjoying your over priced carry in meal then good luck because there is NO public bathroom...the sign says so and it makes sure their customers know it's for employees only. It had pretty good flavor. I ordered the non-vegetarian plate. The plate to go isn't the best container. Mine actually had a giant crack in the side with bits of plastic in my dish I had to pick out. My husband and I are Indian food connoisseurs (on the most amateur level) and one of our favorite things to do is to get the exact same dish at every Indian restaurant we try. We do this to really compare the flavors. Up until now, there was one location in Columbus that has been our go-to- until now. The dishes we always order are: chicken makhani, chicken vindaloo and chicken curry. The chicken makhani was the best that we've had thus far (to include our normal go-to location). The sauce was the perfect consistency and had amazing flavor, with a hint of coconut. The second was chicken vindaloo, which was the traditional vindaloo but the flavors were much more smooth that our previous favorite location. Lastly, the chicken curry- it was pretty standard but very on par with our other favorite place. The garlic naan was slightly lacking but mainly because we are used to a TON of garlic on the bread, which we love. So there was nothing wrong with this naan, just different than our norm. Ordered some carry out and it was very busy on a Saturday night. The chicken tiki marsala was good but the one order was very soupy while the other was more of the chunky side. The flavor was good but I did expect a 4 to be a bit spicer on the heat scale. Guess next time I'll have to try at least a 5. Great Indian food! We drive about 40 min to go here once a month or so. I love that it is consistent and really good. We have even swayed from our normal Tikka Masala and saag paneer and tried some of their other dishes. We have never disliked anything we have tried. The people are always really nice as well! This has quickly become my favorite Indian food place for miles. The staff are always super nice and accommodating. My car even broke down once while parked in front and they were so understanding in not towing it, and made sure it was there for me the next day when I was able to get help from a friend to pick it up. This is my families favorite Indian take out restaurant! The tastes here are unique and so flavorful! We order the Sev Puri and Vegetable Pakora appetizers. We also order a side of nan, Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Mutter Paneer, and Tandoori Chicken. There are always a ton of leftovers for the next few days. I visited this restaurant because of all the positive ratings. I am blown away and don't understand why. I had the chicken tiki masala and I was totally not impressed. First of all the price at 18.99 was high. The sauce was good, nothing special. It was served with basmati rice, again good, but I was surprised to find the chicken came in very small diced pieces. Also, you have to pour the food out of the containers into their Styrofoam plates and use plastic utensils. To top it off when you pay for it, the old guilt tipping prompts on the card machine. I like this place. Service is friendly and fast.I like that they asked me questions to make sure I was ordering what I wanted. For example, customers ask for Chicken Tikka when in reality they want Tandoori Chicken. I like they take the time to make sure the customer is happy. I found India Chaat Cafe and decided to give it a try because the prices were very reasonable, and they offered free delivery. I ordered the Saag Paneer and the Garlic Naan. The food was really delicious! The only complaint I have is I ordered the "mild" on the saag paneer and it definitely was not mild. I'm glad I didn't go with the next step up like I originally planned because it definitely would have been way too spicy for me. I thought it was overpriced but the two entrees (chicken tikka and tikka masala and order of extra rice) I got have been enough for five meals for one person! The tikka masala sauce if more tomato-based than other sauces I've had but the flavors are delicious. An earlier review claimed the chicken tikka masala is minced. It is not! It's chopped into small cubes. The staff was very polite and friendly and the restaurant appeared to be clean but very SMALL. The wait for our food was reasonable. Now the food.... No complaints at all. I read a lot of the poor reviews about "minced chicken" or not having flavor. Mine was just fine. The chicken was cut a little smaller than I was used to but it still had a great taste. I think I may have liked this cut a little better because it made it easier to dip the nan. The spiciness was exactly what I ordered. It's the chicken tikka masala crowd. The place is filthy- we found more than a few hairs on our table. Not sure if there were there were dogs or chinchillas dining before us, but we had to maneuver around the table dirt to eat our food. The food itself was not all that bad.
