I had a movie date with my friend & because I don't eat meat if it's not halal we had find something near by in Times square! I googled it & called them also to make sure the food is halal. I have also asked if they need reservations, they didn't . So we went there to have dinner. It was like 12 min walk from Times Square.. The place was cute, not too fancy ! Not too crowded, lots of empty seats . We both used the restroom & it was too smelly. And not much clean, I was kinda shocked! So I told a person who works there & she was just looking at me like what she is talking about. So I told her to go inside & have a look. I always say if a restaurant has bad smelly bathroom & kitchen is also not good then not a good idea to eat food there! We were already seated so I decided to stay. We ordered Chicken Tikka Sizzler, Goat Biriani , Coke. I liked the chicken but the biryani was not so much. We both had hard time finishing the biryani, kinda disappointed! The price was high & I understand why ! But I did expected better food at this price. Customer service was good.

Ordered goat vindaloo, really tasty but not spicy as vindaloo should be... very disappointing. I would definitely come back and order curries as they are probably cooked more to expectation. I hate when dishes are downgraded from traditional expectations to appeal to non natives taste buds.

The chicken tikka masala very delicious, not very spicy, overall very nice place, Excellent food. Great service. Nice ambience.

I went here for dinner a few nights ago and was impressed with the food. I ordered the chicken tikka sizzler, which was really good. My only complaint is that it was a little overpriced for the portion. But the waiter was very friendly and made our experience a great one. The sheer decor on the inside was also quite inviting.

The food and service here is awesome. I reached this place barely 15 mins before their closing time and still the owners welcomed me without hesitation and allowed me to take my time to place the order. Next time you are in time square give this place a try!

This place is scummy--18% automatic tip (see: no incentive for waiters), sticky tables that I had to "pry myself off of", and ridiculously priced food: $8.27 for the smallest ras malai (less than 1 inch diameter). I am floored at how pathetic this place is. If you're looking for Indian food in the Times Square area, go to Curry India; they're relatively unknown which is a shame given how delicious their food is + the fact that they've been around since 1915 (A little after electricity was brought to Time Square and all the signs were alight). When we swung by for lunch today only two other tables were seated. The waiter still found a way to take forever; not only did he not pour any water (82 degrees out), it took him at least 15 minutes to come and get our order. Even then, he seemed to have left his faculties elsewhere, with significant latency "Is there tandoori on the menu?" "Uhhhh". Uhhh to everything. It seemed evident he had been at the place for a while though so I'm not sure why he didn't know the menu. The other patrons also seemed displeased with the wait--the 2 tables that is. Either way, our tandoor chicken + tikka masala eventually came out. Very generic Indian food not even holding a flame to the the authentic spots where the cabbies eat! I was shaken to the core at how inept the waiter was--but that was before I saw the ras malai. I have never seen such a laughable thing in my life: less than 1 inch in diameter in the tiniest "bowl"--this is the most scanty dessert offering ever $8.27. The real cherry on top--which shall now be also recognized as a dessert having seen this place's "ras malai"--was waiting on the check. The waiter made us wait 10m idly (finished all our food) so we ended up asking a second time. He had to serve other tables when he was literally so close to the register so we had to ask a 3rd time. We were not gonna leave a tip, which is uncommon for us, but they ended up having gratuity anyways. Screw this place.

We arrived when they first opened, and service was slow. They advertise that we could order from the menu but kept pushing the buffet. Finally our servers decided that we could order from the menu. I had the tomato soup with about five croutons, and my friends had Butter Chicken and some sort of lamb. They both enjoyed their dishes. Also, we had the Naan Garlic Bread and it was delicious Overall, it was a good experience but the service could be better. The customer service was good but the servers seemed confused. If you enjoy Indian food and not in a hurry, I would recommend this restaurant. The decor was pretty emerald green.

Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Waiter recommended the Goan fish so I got it. The fish was cooked well (slightly crispy on the outside but soft and tender on the inside) but the curry sauce wasn't my favorite. Probably just a personal preference but the sauce felt like it had shreds of coconut, which gave it a weird texture and taste. Service was friendly albeit a little slow. Spacious interior. They do have an intriguing prefix option for $35 that I would've gotten if I had been more hungry. Choose two appetizers, two entrees, a soup plus a dessert. I didn't see how big the portions were but sounds like a good deal to me! They also appear to have a lunch buffet every day for $17.95 (not sure when it starts but I think it goes until 3:30pm), which I might come back to try just to see if I just ordered the wrong thing this visit.

However, we never really got to it, having been busy exploring the Semmas and Bungalows of the city. On a cold Saturday evening my partner and I decided to give Indian Accent a shot - got rather last minute reservations over the phone. They were kind enough to accommodate us for a 7 pm slot, and once we got there we were seated immediately. We chose the four course menu, and found each course to be better than the one before! The shorba (soup) and garlic kulcha amuse bouche was a nice touch to get things started - loved the tiny terracotta mugs. Proceeded onto the shakarkandi chaat and the chilly pork roti - the former reminding me of the delectable street food in Delhi winters with the latter being a very good Indian rif on birria tacos. The star of the show for me was the Tofu medu vada - so unique and flavorful and melt in the mouth! I've not had anything quite like it before. My partner had the wagyu kebab that he said was excellent! For mains we had the chicken malai and the paneer - both tasty, but by this point we were already so full, and had to get most of the mains to go. But because there's always room for dessert, for our final course we scarfed down doda barfi with ice-cream and sticky toffee banana pudding - both of which were finger licking delish! Our service was great too - Ty our server was so nice and had the best recommendations. I'd have never gone for the tofu medu vada among all the other options and he urged me to, and it really turned out to be the highlight of my meal. The cocktails were good too. All in all, I think this is such a nice upscale Indian dining spot for a night out in the city. Having tried most of the other trending newer spots, i think Indian Accent sits right among the top! I'd highly recommend and cannot wait to be back!

I believe there are other Indian Accent locations in India, and was excited to try their NYC spot. We went on a weekend evening around 5pm and had a really enjoyable experience overall. Nice ambiance inside, didn't feel overly packed where we were sitting. Service was great for the most part. Shane, our main server, stood out and he was SUPER helpful in walking us through the menu and making thoughtful suggestions. That said, it's definitely a team-service setup, so multiple staff members will assist your table throughout the meal. Everyone had great energy and made the experience feel polished. We did the prix fixe menu and went with 3 courses each across our group of 3. Two of us opted for the "midis" and one went for dessert, but we ended up sharing everything. Even though the portions initially seem small, we were surprisingly full by the end. One important note: go into this with an open mindset. This is not your typical, "generic" Indian food experience - it's much more modern, creative, and experimental. We did a lot of research before deciding what to order, so here's what we got/ordered: Amuse bouche (complimentary): A pumpkin shorba (soup) served in a cute little cup and blue cheese naan. Both were a great start, and we actually asked for more of the shorba. They said they'd bring it, but it never came, which was a bit disappointing, but still appreciated the palate cleanser concept. Appetizers (ordered 3): * Phulka jackfruit: Kind of like a taco - really nice flavor with these crispies on it and a nice sauce. * Kashmiri morel mushrooms: I'm not usually a mushroom person, but this was excellent. Loved the creamy base and overall flavor. * Potato sphere chaat: Probably the weakest of the three. It was more sev than potato, and didn't quite hit for me. Midis (ordered 2): * Yogurt kebab: Very interesting texture with a nice chutney base * Sweet pickle pork: I didn't personally try it, but the other two in my group loved it Mains (ordered 3): * Sweet corn vadai: Really unique and flavorful - one of the standouts * Paneer kofta: Not my favorite; different from what I expected * Chicken tikka meatballs: Surprisingly good! I don't usually love meatballs, but these had a great texture and flavor Accompaniments (ordered 3): * Butter chicken kulcha: Easily my favorite - would come back just for this, but note it can be a little "greasy" * Daal with black garlic naan: The naan was unique with a slightly sweet taste; the daal could've used a bit more depth * Chana masala kulcha: A little spicy but still very flavorful Dessert (ordered 1 + 1 complimentary): * Banana sticky date cake: A lovely, satisfying end to the meal * Makhan malai (complimentary for a birthday in our group): Very airy and unique texture - not really for us personally, but appreciate the team supporting our birthday celebration We skipped drinks even though the menu is extensive - we wanted to focus on the food Overall, I really liked this place. The dishes were a mix - nothing was outright bad (except maybe the makhan malai for our taste), but not everything was a hit either. Still, it's a fun, elevated dining experience with creative takes on Indian cuisine. I'd definitely go back, especially for the butter chicken kulcha. Only real miss was the forgotten re-order of the amuse bouche, but otherwise service and vibes were strong.

The star of the show is Jaz herself -- the owner, hostess, and bartender all rolled into one wonderfully warm, charming British woman who somehow makes you feel like you've been a regular for years within thirty seconds of walking through the door. She's the kind of host who remembers how you like your chai and makes the whole room feel like her living room. Now, the food. The Chana Masala is deeply spiced, rich with tomato and chickpeas, the kind of dish that makes you question every mediocre version you've had before. The Saag is silky, fragrant, and genuinely soulful -- spinach that actually tastes like something. And the Onion Kulcha? Pillowy, caramelized, absolutely yummy -- the kind of bread you'll be tearing into long after you're full. The flavors here are the real thing -- bold, layered, and unapologetically authentic.
