The admin said I was loud and doing too much, I said I did not agree but sorry if they felt like it. Julie informed me she did not need her staff to know what was going on because some of them will not be able to separate their feelings from what they heard about that teacher. That afternoon I went to apologize to the teachers since Julie said I made staff uncomfortable. They asked what I was talking about and I stated that Julie said that I was loud and doing too much when saying I do not want Taylore to be my child's teacher. Granted B#tch did come out when I was talking about Taylore. They said I did not think you were loud or doing too much. I made a comment saying that when black people are upset white people tend to police their emotions and say they are doing too much. Fallon got upset and I said I am sorry I offended you. Fallon said I can't go around saying all you black people without it being a problem. I told her I can explain the difference if she would like, but she chose to walk away. My child was dismissed from daycare today because the all white admin chose to stick with their implicit biases. The admin staff will talk to you and have the same type of conversations on multiple occasions with others around, but when a white person gets upset they blame you even though teachers and other staff have had conversations like this with me before. When I asked what was different this time, they could not give me an answer and said that the relationship has been broken. They blame parents if they have concerns with a new hire who has been fired for physically punishing students at project scope, and she is in a classroom with younger children. If you are okay with this, then go to Silverleaf South. Julie and Kyle will act like they are down for the cause and to support black people and their struggles until it actually comes time to do so. Keep in mind Julie sleeps with black men and has black grandchildren. Do not send your kids of color here. They are part of the school to prison pipeline. They will not advocate for you as a parent or your children. It is all about business with them.

Like maybe there's five benches total, including ones that have bars built-in, and the freeways are always being crowded. I have never once seen any of them actually work. They don't clean, they don't supervise, they sit on their phones at the front desk. It would help if the YMCA employed adults, but it's just a bunch of 16-18 year olds unsupervised letting their friends do whatever they want to the equipment. One exclaimed "I TOLD THAT B***h I'm just trying to F**k that P***y!" from the front desk the other day. An employee named Ashton cussed me out because I asked him to enforce the age requirements in the weight room due to children younger than 10 years old tossing weights around and swinging from the equipment like a jungle gym. Tried to report it to management, they didn't even respond. Next let's talk value. I have a Health Club membership with a locker that took months of emailing the Y to obtain. It is $85/month. This is double what gyms with the same amenities offer. It is never cleaned, reeks of mold, and is used by people who don't pay for it because the 16 year old employees give out the password to their friends. Next let's talk cleanliness. This is the dirtiest gym I have ever been in by a long shot. The only reason the Health Department hasn't shut it down is because it is a massive non-profit. Take a wet wipe and wipe down any weight/dumbbell in the facility and you will see grime. Same with the floors. Same with the lockers. Same with the benches. Literally nothing gets cleaned ever. The staff flat out do not clean. Water fountain filters go months on red without being changed. Blood soaked wet wipes are stuffed in cup holders on the machines and when you bring this to the attention of workers, like Ashton, they ask "did you throw it away?". Nah dude, that's your job. Trash litters the floor of the hallways and the basketball courts. Spilled juices/sports drinks that staff refuse to mop up make the floor sticky. This has also been reported to an indifferent management several times. Someone will get hurt and I hope they sue these morons for everything they own. When run correctly, a YMCA can provide underprivileged kids in a community a safe place to go. It can offer community-building events and help the overall health of the community. This YMCA is NOT being run correctly. It isn't even being supervised. Absent management is allowing this place to become a dangerous health hazard. I sincerely hope that the health department does its job and investigates. I hope ISBE investigates and takes away their nutrition grant money until they get their act together. I hope DCFS and HFS investigate as well and remove their grant funding. Non-profits have standards to meet when they accept federal grant funding. The Springfield IL YMCAs are not meeting those standards. Take away their funding, fire the management and employees, shut down for a few months, and reopen when a competent staff can be found.

My 18 year old ,cat passed away on Saturday, November 29, Due to the weather, I was unable to take…read morehim for cremation until Monday, December 1, I chose Butler because a year ago I had another cat pass and the hospice vet to her to Butler. I was pleased with them so went back. I asked about paw prints and Gary Butler said he could do it. When I picked up the remains on Wednesday, December 3, the paw prints were in a card and were smudged to the point I could not tell what they were. I had expected a print in clay, which I did not get. I was so disappointed, I felt like crying and commented about the print not being clear. The woman in the office stated that the cat must have been in bad shape. I found that to be disrespectful. The cat was in perfect condition. He was an indoor cat and was kept cold until he was taken to Butler. I wasn't even given the option of the clay print. Given the lack of empathy toward my feelings and, I can never get the prints now. The cost was more than I had expected since last year. I have 2 more older cats. Butler will not be my first choice when the time comes for cremation for them

Some of the toughest days of our lives. I was able to work remotely from the house and they provided me with a great little work space and respected my privacy so I could focus. I would give this place a 5/5, but there was one person on the staff in particular that really made us feel uncomfortable during a time we were supposed to feel the most comforted. She was constantly on my case about some house rules that I apparently wasn't following, (I was) but at the same time most of the staff and volunteers wouldn't follow this rule. I did not care if the staff wasn't following this rule, I just wanted there to be some kind of accountability and consistency. So I questioned that but all I'd ever get was a threat from her saying she'll kick me out. I was very respectful to everyone there and followed the rules, but if I even asked about them, she raised her voice, had a tone with me and threatened to kick us out? Regardless of what she thought I was doing wrong, she shouldn't talk to anyone like she talked to us. The rest of the staff would always greet me on my way in and out the doors, asking me how my daughter was doing, how my day was, etc. She wouldn't say a word to us unless it was something she thought we did wrong. She would even write / log complaints in their system for something we didn't even do. Great work. All in all, pretty unprofessional. We were already stressed out as it was and it just made us not want to be there when she was working because we knew she'd get on us about anything and everything. Besides her, this place was amazing to us. Thank you all! And we apologize we rubbed Liz the wrong way from the beginning to make her treat us that way!

Randomly, out of nowhere, they just stopped picking up the cardboard boxes I put out. When I called to ask, the person that answered got all flustered and said that she didn't know why they picked up before then stopped. She told me that I could bring the cardboard and drop it off for free, but I told her it didn't make sense that it was picked up for 18 years then just stopped. Then she got even more frustrated when I told her to just charge me, that I didn't care as long as they picked up. She then further showed her backside and said that they had new rotations and maybe someone was just doing me a "solid" by picking them up before and now they are getting in trouble for it. Whatever.... this place needs some serious customer service retraining. I am paying customer that called in to offer to pay more and got treated like I was 3rd rate citizen putting out too much garbage and putting square cardboard boxes (broken down) outside the round cans that they don't fit inside. I guess it's time to start looking for a better service. I don't mind paying for better service, if I can find it. Otherwise, I will treat them the same way they just treated me.

I don't put it out often, but I pay full price for them to come every week, and they hardly ever come. I have chronic pain. When they don't pick it up, I have to carry it back to my backyard and then carry it out again and again and again, sometimes for months. I feel like the company is really nice otherwise, but I don't know what to do about the recycling.
