My husband stumbled upon Incognito on our way home from the grocery store. There was a musician playing and a friendly owner at the entrance who's greeted us with a smile. We opted to just have wine so we sat at the bar. My husband chose the flight of Red wine and I selected a flight of White wine. We've wanted to go here GeForce a while and we finally went yesterday! Wow! Everything was incredible, from the initial greeting and service to the wine to the food everything was impeccable. We had the lobster fondue as a starter. Delicious and perfect with our red flight. Hubby had the Tuscan chicken and I had the sea bass. Both were perfection. The chef served the sea bass and the presentation was on point. Charlie (the owner) highly recommended the sticky toffee pudding. Oh my. Absolutely delicious. We cannot wait to return. While the food is good, I can get just as good of an experience for half the price. I spent $250, and I can't say it was worth it. We had a wine flight, which I enjoyed. A pizza - meh. We were guests of a club member. When the check came the member was going to pay but I suggested we split it because we had a couple bottles of expensive wine. The owner split the bill but added a "surcharge" to my half because I was not a member. Seemed rather rude and greedy on the part of the owner. Starting with the seedy path past boarded up windows of an abandoned old motel just to get to the door to enter, the experience never improved. The wine selection looks extensive, but the wait staff will tell you,"we're not allowed to tell you where the wine comes from. The owners get it from wineries that have it left over because they couldn't sell it". So every bottle has a generic Incognito Winery label. It's probably best if you don't know where it comes from. The food is reminiscent of elementary school cafeteria fare. The server was attentive but no amount of attention could compensate for the food and wine disappointment. My husband and I went to Incognito for our anniversary, and we were blown away by the whole experience. The location is very fitting for its name. The restaurant looks like an unassuming storefront, but as you walk around back to the restaurant entrance, you're transported to what I can only describe as an Italian speakeasy. The food and drinks were the best we've had in the area. We highly recommend the red wine flight. It's a great deal, and you get to try a sampling of Incognito's best wines. The whipped ricotta and bruschetta appetizers were delicious, and the chicken Alfredo was a showstopper. So.... I am a wine guy and have his place is a local gem. I will disagree with posts that claim they are overpriced. In case anyone hasn't paid attention, there has been this thing called inflation. The food: The bruschetta was very good as an appetizer. We did split a Caesar salad and the dressing was excellent but placed in the side. They may have listened to feedback to let people dress as they please. It is on the thicker side (more traditional than summer) and we cleaned the plate. In honor of Queen Elizabeth chef Kenny created a Beef Wellington special with Texas Wagyu beef. This was the first time I have had Wellington and they prepared it wonderful. The port wine reduction added to the flavor and helped the gnocchi. The cost was $60 for the Wellington. For 8 oz of Texas Wagyu it is not in any way overpriced. The Wine: Incognito's model is to buy juice at the source and have it made and bottled before shipping to Texas. So don't think of this like the Texas wineries that source grapes from West Texas and Hill Country. As such it may cost a bit more, but also expect better quality. Most of the wines are from Napa Valley or Washington. They have a good selection of different options and even some sweet wine for those who are into sweet wine Texas style. The owners have been present, engaged, friendly and very attentive both times I have been here. They truly care and want customers to have a great experience. Chef Kenny makes the rounds as well and is very friendly and engaged. He is having a couple of local high school students from the culinary program help him in the kitchen. I applaud this and the flavors and temperatures are there. They did have a small mixup from the kitchen while we were there, but they bent over backward to make them happy and fix the issue. Every employee we have met so far has been focused on the customer experience. We will be back and happily support this local business. They have great quality and care a lot. My wife & I enjoy Incognito Winery. We love the atmosphere and the owners Kim & Charlie are wonderful people. Neither of us are wine experts and neither of us drink very much. We go here for the atmosphere and the food, which is excellent, and a great glass of wine. I'm not a wine guy, but living in the Bay Area for awhile gave us an appreciation for the ambiance of a great wine bar. We also love local businesses so when we were invited to this little spot in Rockwall, we were pretty excited! It's located in a convenient spot, tucked away off the service road. They really did a great job on the decor and the layout of the spot. It was a Friday night and the place was pretty packed, so things were looking up! We were seated right away and both Gary and Donna came up to get our orders for drinks and appetizers. Gary was very friendly and shared a lot of information. The bruschetta was tasty, but at $8 for 6 pieces, it was a little overpriced. We then waited for half an hour to receive the wine we had ordered. Meanwhile we ordered dinner and a charcuterie board. The board arrived...two meats and three cheeses for $24. The taste was solid. However, there was a definitely a lack of quantity. There were three slices of salami and an ounce or so of prosciutto. A handful of mixed nuts/dried fruit and very small portions of cheese. We understand that it's an appetizer, but at $24, we expected to have a little more volume. After an hour we had not yet received our entrees and though we had finished our first round of drinks, we were never asked if we would like refills. The entrees arrived 20 min before closing. Shrimp scampi was really well done. Again a $20+ price point for a smaller dish of food. The pizza was the same story and the Caesar salad was small and drenched in dressing. Though the first impression for the evening was uplifting and positive, the rest of the evening was a bit of a letdown...we were treated as if we were...incognito. This new hidden gem of a place is really "Incognito" Hidden down a path towards the back of a building. We arrived at 4:30 on a Saturday night. Thinking it might be crowded since they just opened late July. We were greeted by Charles,Kim,Donna and Gary.We decided we needed a charcuterie board to start off, so we ordered the 3x cheese, 2 meat one. Gary came back over and told us about the variety of wines they sold. I chose a glass of the Red Rose. It was so good. Donna came over and took our order for dinner. We then enjoyed our board of delicious nibbles. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the Italian decor. You can overhear Italian music to relax and enjoy your food. Once your stuffed beyond belief, you have to save room for dessert. We opted for cannolis and caramel bread pudding. So decadent, light ,and fresh. And yes they have leftover containers because you will need one. So much food!! I absolutely adore this restaurant! As they are very friendly and kind, they make sure to remember your faces and your name every time you come and visit. Having a personal touch the local restaurant is always a strong attribute!! But we can't forget the most important part, the food is outstanding, and the wine is to die for! I visited on Valentine's Day, February 14 on a Tuesday when they were not originally open, and it was such a lovely event. I have provided photos any and all that want to see the event. The chef used to cook more Alex Rodriguez, for the Rangers, and now it's renowned chef is allowing our local high school students to join cooking at his restaurant to achieve more life experience in a restaurant, with real customers, top tier food, and sauces. This place has charm but the prices are too high. Everything is cooked on a hot plate and overall tastes as such. The wines are blends so its hard to know what your getting. If this place dropped the prices i think they could have a niche. This is not california food or wine. I would recommend to Chef Kenny to be more Texan and drop the overpriced fake overseas beef. This is an absolute hidden gem. Incredibly friendly staff and even more amazing food. We were looking for a new restaurant/winery and had been wanting to try Incognito. Their name aptly describes the experience we had: the restaurant is next up a church and down the alley between the buildings so a bit hidden. The name comes from the fact that their wines come from notable vineyards and are relabeled under their NDA so you won't know who the vintner is but a flight of reds and whites confirmed they are top notch. Chef Kenny has created a wonderful menu of gourmet selections and he has a great back story himself and came out to visit. We had a pizza and the best sea bass I've tasted in years. Don't miss dessert either as the toffee pudding was amazing, as was the chocolate truffle. We will be back soon and can't understate what a great restaurant we have here in Rockwall.
