All people working here were also super amiable, making it felt like you're just a regular visitor despite it's our first being there. We arrived just slightly before 1pm, which was actually the closing time for their cafe but fortunately we made it just in time to try their coffees. I initially wanna go for their Hojicha Matcha but they're unfortunately out. I then ended up with my second option, the Activated Charcoal latte. The default came unsweetened with whole milk. There were alternative milk with extra $1 charge. The coffee was great and would even be better if it could be tad less milky IMHO. The Okasan was the highlight, which did surprise me as I typically didn't like any drink with zesty twist while this one had Kumquat. I guessed their innovative idea mixing it with chocolate did turn out stellar, delivering the right balance between sweet and refreshing taste, while still let the coffee taste getting the spotlight!

It was just one fella making the drinks on Saturday morning, but he was working his booty off with a smile the entire time! It truly was good vibes here. They had a surprisingly lot of options, considering they're doing it all from a window in the restaurant! My friend had the Okasan drink with espresso, coconut milk, chocolate syrup and an orange twist ~ it was very orangey but had a unique taste to it. I had the Activated Charcoal Matcha which I loveeeedddd! I was shocked at the pop of flavor hitting my tastebuds and just melted into it. I I hardly ever crave drinks and this is definitely making my brain go into addiction mode. The Activated Charcoal Matcha is a MUST get! Both House Special drinks were $7.50. They have oat, almond and coconut milk supplements OR you can go fancy and add Kotaji Rice Fermented Oak Milk for an extra dolla ~ so cool! No snacks but head down a few steps to Levain Bakery for an amazing cookie or cinnamon roll to go with your morning brews. Absolutely loved Kohi by Owa and will be back soon!

The cream cheese croissant was my favorite, it was warm, flaky, and had a good amount of cream cheese. The hojicha latte was really good too and had a nice flavor. The regular latte was also good and tasted fresh. The staff was really nice and friendly, and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks and food. The cafe was also clean and had a cute, cozy vibe. The drinks are consistently good, which I really appreciate. That said, the hours have been a little iffy lately. There have been several instances where I've shown up around 7:15-7:20 AM only to find the chairs still up on the tables and the lights off, so I'm assuming someone didn't show up on time. The most recent instance was this Wednesday (9/2/26), when I arrived around 7:20 AM and the shop was still closed. It was a bummer, especially since this isn't the first time it's happened. I tried my luck again yesterday (9/3) and today (9/4) around the same time, and luckily the shop was open. Shoutout to the girls who were working yesterday and this morning for showing up on time and making some fire drinks! . I hope the opening hours become more reliable, especially for the early workers.

We had our dog with us so the dog-friendly patio was what drew us to selecting Goodpeople. We found street parking after circling the neighborhood a couple of times. The drink menu immediately cracked me up because the "vanilla bullsh%&#" drink is a respectful nod to one of my favorite scenes from Curb Your Enthusiasm. We split the Los Cali Brekkie burrito which features sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese, French fries and a house made Sriracha aioli but we substituted the cilantro aioli. The filling of the burriot was super soft and mush but it worked. There was a guy out back frying up fresh donuts. There was a pet adoption event going on and although it was a hot day the shade sails and fans really kept the patio tolerable and pleasant.

What had previously intrigued me was the fridge cigarette coffee drink and their aesthetics. I ordered an Avo toast and of course the fridge cigarette (chilled espresso, with Diet Coke and I added cold foam). The Avo toast was okay - what you would expect it to taste like. I personally like mine with a little bit of kick - either chili crunch oil or some chili flakes. The drink was really good too - I do wish the espresso was a bit more like a double so it could be stronger. Because I still wanted to taste the coffee flavor together with the coke but I felt like the coffee needed to be a bit stronger so the coke didn't overpower the flavor. But still good. I want to try the short stack next, which looks like a yummy drink. The aesthetic and design was very cool and retro. The place was packed and I think I was the only person who didn't have a laptop. So it definitely seems like a chill place for people to work/study. The chef who also assisted me with my order was super cool and helpful. Told me about events that they have and that they expanded their hours until 7 pm and do a happy hour from 5-7 pm. She said it's more of a wine bar at that time. I'm definitely going to come back for that after work. Price point is what you would expect from a trendy LA coffee and wine bar. I think my bill came out to $32 for the Avo roast, fridge cigarette ($2 added for cold foam) and I also got a custom lighter (lighter with diet coke logo wrapped). I would recommend this place for either a chill coffee get together/date or by yourself like I did , or in the evening for their more wine bar vibe for happy hour.

The sandwich was $13 (actually shocking). It was ice cold to point of where the sandwich was hard, almost like it had been in the back of the fridge too long. The bread was dry and fell apart immediately upon first bite. It had turkey, cheese, tomato, iceberg lettuce - it says it had mayo and mustard but I didn't taste much of this. To say this was French bread is a stretch. If I wasn't so busy I actually should have requested a refund because I was only able to eat the turkey and cheese and threw away the rest. I would actually go so far as to suggest that this establishment stops serving sandwiches like this unless they are made fresh. Please stick to coffee.
