I recently got tattooed at Crawling Squid by Evan Barry…read more The facilities are super clean, the staff is super friendly and make you feel comfortable and right at home. My tattoo was a traditional tattoo done in the traditional "Sailor Jerry" style, which Evan Barry excels at. He was patient, asked if and when I needed a break, and it was really comfortable and pleasant, as pleasant as getting a tattoo could be. It was obvious from the meticulous way he worked that he wanted the tattoo to be perfect. And it was! I now have an amazing tattoo, which I got at a really great price, and had a really great experience. I'm already contemplating the next piece and am excited to head back to Crawling Squid for more great work. Whether it's your first tattoo, or like me, you're getting more, Crawling Squid is the place to do it.

My friend and I had spent all day looking for a shop to pierce her ears and found that almost all the shops reeked of marijuana and lacked sanitary hygiene. We stumbled upon Valhalla modifications and called the shop, spoke to the owner, and he had told us he could take walk-ins. We arrived 15 minutes later, and he opened us with open arms. He was probably one of the most genuine and attentive people I have ever met. His shop was clean and did NOT reek of marijuana. He spent at least 30 minutes explaining to my friend the options for earrings and how they all differ and benefit her. He was extremely thorough. When piercing her ears, he explained how he would pierce them, why he chose the angles he did and also explained to her everything he was doing as he was doing it. My friend and I were comfortable with the choices, and I decided to get the word "strength" tattooed on my right wrist. The tattoo placement and word I had chosen were a little more complicated than other work he had done due to the thickness and style I wanted to do. He told me he would take a little longer to ensure the tattoo looked best. I was okay with that. He had me revise the tattoo multiple times and let him know if I wanted anything corrected. The tattoo remains one of my favorites, and I loved our overall experience. Wes (the owner) is a talented artist! I DEFINITELY recommend this shop and look forward to coming back.

I feel like the entire tattoo process can be intimidating and most artists can give this vibe. Fortunately, from the get go Manny was super nice and very cooperative. He makes you feel very welcomed from start to finish. As for the ink: Manny does an excellent job. Not only is he a great artist, he gives great advice and recommendations on what to do for a certain idea that you may have in mind. I personally knew what I wanted, but didn't know where to put it or how to do it. Manny walked me through everything and sketched up ideas that were exactly how I wanted it. I was pretty nervous to trust someone with tattooing my arm the first time around, but after everything, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Manny makes it easy to trust him through his easy nature, and solid ink he can produce. While getting tattooed Manny is super nice and will casually chat with you to make the process a lot better, instead of just inking your arm like anyone else. I have about 70% of my arm full now, all done at Hand of Faith. I would highly recommend going to HoF and seeing Manny if you want to get anything done. He has a very good reputation and has 10+ years of experience behind that. Prices: Prices are good and Manny gives a fair price on all his work. Location: Hand of Faith is kept very clean and organized. Shop has plenty of artwork you can reference or even choose from as well. To sum it up: Well kept shop - good pricing -  great artist.

The tattoo shop itself has a strong community feel, the artists are like family and they let you into that even as a customer! I found myself chatting with the other artists and even other customers, checking out each others' ink. I've gotten tattooed before at another shop and I have to say the bed I was laying on this time was WORLDS better than the last, it was extremely comfortable. Everything felt very clean, but not sterile like a doctor's office! The shop is beautiful, the walls are filled with stencils, and the artists all have their own stations decorated. Love the location too, right on Central and by other awesome local businesses. I will definitely be back!
