So happy we got to visited In Good Taste tasting room! Our host, Allie was truly an amazing person. We appreciate the hospitality and how knowledgeable she was. We were impressed by the choices of flights we can choose from. All of the wines were beautifully crafted and we can definitely taste the quality. My personal favorite was the spicy Rosé. It was so unique! We also love how cozy and tasteful the tasting room was. Can't wait to come back.

We all started at the Tiburon RR Mueum where we got a nice overview of the areas history. Who knew this was all a giant Railroad yard at one time? Tried a variety of great foods and wine along the way. They were prepared especially for us by the chefs at each restaurant. Had some delicious deviled eggs and hush puppies with honey butter at the tavern. It was served with a good glass of Chardonnay though I don't recall the name. At Sams had a delicious shrimp dish with crunchy toast. It was paired with a JCB Rose from Province that Renee brought She also gave us some lavender cheese which was a perfect complement to the wine. Went next door to Luma Blue and were served eggplant parmigiana paired with a bold Tuscan Red. Strolled to the cafe owned by the same family and got coffee with cannoli. To top it off we had Meyers port from Anderson Valley with a crunchy cookie (also from the cafe) at the top of Tiburon. It was a great unrushed tour through some of Tiburon's finest restaurants for delicious food and wine pairings. Great way to enjoy the town or to host out of town guests.

I purchased our tickets online a few days in advance (recommended for weekends and holidays), so arriving and loading the ferry was smooth and simple. We were also able to add the extra $1 fee per bike to be able to bring our bikes onboard for our planned bike ride around Angel Island. Once you're on the ferry, there's an area in the back with bike racks to place your bike. It can fill up fast so be sure to get there well before the ferry is set to leave. Once onboard, we went up to the top level and had the best views of the SF Bay, Tiburon, Golden Gate Bridge in the distance, Downtown SF, and Angel Island as we cruised across the bay on a very short 15-ish minute ride. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, and we had a great time going out to Angel Island and back. Highly recommend for a fun day trip! Pro tip: If you want to rent bikes for Angel Island, you can either rent in Tiburon at Demo Bikes or at the kiosk on Angel Island just steps away from the ferry landing.

Once again it was a Sold Out Event. I spent two hours sticking tooth picks in very large, very good cheese cubes. Monterey Jack, Sharp Cheddar & Pepper Jack. All organic cheeses. All from Clover Organic Farms in Petaluma. All three were smooth and good. The Pepper Jack had a good bite to it. Can't wait to put it in an omelette. Two of the nicest guys from Clover were there. Then I spent two hours dipping chocolate & vanilla sweet cream ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery in San Rafael. 4th Street. Dipped so much ice cream I got a blister. But the payoff was great. I got the last dish of chocolate & vanilla mixed. Will definitely stop in their store the next time I'm in San Rafael and looking for a snack or dessert. And wine, you ask? Yes I drank wine. Lots of very good wineries were represented. After all, it was a Wine Festival. There were plenty of folks drinking my share. I have never understood what makes folks willing to do things when they have had too much to drink that they would never do if they were cold sober. These were people who had paid $55 for a 4-hour wine festival and now they were willing to steal or grab wine from cases that were packed up. I suggested they just go to Sam's or Guaymas or Servino's and sit out on the deck, if they needed more. They just looked at me with that blank, drunk stare. But even with that minor incident, it was an interesting afternoon. I've had my share of dairy products for awhile and a little too much wine. I saw lots of friends from around town and met a few new interesting folks. And I got a parking ticket. All in all it was a well rounded afternoon. Food , wine, friends . . . .

The food was delicious, especially Servino's offerings of bruschetta and pasta. Sam's was dishing out fresh oysters, and there were also generous samples from a delicious local chili maker. The wines were plentiful, as always. Two aspects of this year's festival were outstanding: The silent auction items, and the Music. Internationally known percussionist James Henry and his Hands on Fire band really created a fun party atmosphere. Their music took the event to another level. Great band! Thanks, Tiburon, for a thoroughly enjoyable day.
