I've been here a few times for events. One time was an outdoor grape stomping contest--so much fun! We made a t-shirt with our grape-stained feet! We danced in the roped-off street to Doc Kraft. We played skee ball that day, too. We've danced indoors, too. My favorite is Jay Lewallen, who has sometimes paired with other musicians. I love his cover of the song Rusty Cage. We've played bingo there a few times, too. Trek Winery's Sangiovese wine is my absolute favorite. It's a cozy, neighborhood place with tall ceilings. The back patio has a lovely water feature. Everyone who works there is personable and helpful. They always have a few items that would make interesting gifts like candle holders from barrel planks, at times. read more

This is a great wine bar in downtown Novato. It is a couple blocks away from Grant Ave. A few of my girlfriends introduced me to Trek while back. Since then I've been back a several times. They sell beer, red and white wine and champagne by the glass. The last time I was there one of the staff mentioned they will be selling more champagne which is great news since I'm a bubbles girl! They have a food menu as well. I've tried a couple of their flatbreads which are tasty. Last year they started to host bingo for various organizations in their big venue space. It's lots of fun and for great causes. The schedule is the first Sunday of every month and every Tuesday evening. There is also comedy shows, chair massage events and live music in the main area. read more

Went to Trek Wine for the comedy show. It was something fun to do local in Novato. The chairs were a little uncomfortable, and make sure you grab your cocktail before you go in to see the show because nobody brings you wine while you're watching the show. It was a great price, and I can't wait to go again read more

Great spot in historical downtown novato. Wines are well crafted and stand up well to the multitude of California wines Available this area. The service is great, the owner was gracious and took good care of us. The atmosphere is comfortable and has live music in the evenings. Victoria was awesome. She made sure that I got everything I wanted and she was very helpful with letting me sample one of the beers that I was really interested in. I have to say that the beer selection was off the hook because I looked for Barley wines and they are one of the few places that serve a great barley wine, but it also turned out that the stat was incredible. everyone and I mean everyone at our table was thoroughly happy with everything they got and that the service was family and friendly plus I got to tell you right now. That music was amazing. Two guys sounded like a full band. It was great. Matt was a great bass player but Jay rocked it with that guitar. I just love the music that came with this place on Wednesday night and be sure to bring a tie-dye T-shirt that'll make you a hero. read more

I suppose its a nice place. I don''t drink wine or beer. Hubs said the beer was great, my sister in law said the wine, not so much. We went to Trek for a comedy show. We saw people eating but never saw a menu, nor were we offered one. Maybe those people brought food in? The winery itself is lovely. Indoor and outdoor seating and you will probably run into people you know. Small town and all. The comedy show as just okay, until the headliner came on. The rest should probably not quit their day jobs. read more

A very low-key winery compared to Mantra, but they pour decent wines, and they poor heavy. The tastings run about $14, and every glass is filled like if you ordered a an actual glass of that wine. I recommend the Syrah (off menu) and not the Pinot, and going after 4pm so that their kitchen is open. The interior is outfitted with lots of couches and plush chairs so you can easily spend a couple by of hours here. They've also got a patio outside as well. Service is fantastic, so make a trip when you've got the chance. read more

I recently revisited and was quite impressed. In all fairness, my first visit was shortly after reopening from COVID shelter, and the offerings were not great. However, I was pleased with the nibbles offered recently that went great with the wines. We didn't do tastings, but enjoyed a couple glasses of wine over a two hour visit with friends. The space is comfortable and background music was perfect! Location is more off the beaten path of downtown which made it more enjoyable. Would highly recommend. read more

Came back to Trek on 11/26 and it didn't disappoint after years since my first review! We had the sausage and pepperoni pizza, then opted for the pork sliders as well. A flight of red/white and we left happy! Nice people, nice ambiance, reasonably priced! read more

My wife and I were fresh off a weekend nap when we decided we wanted to get a glass of wine somewhere. Trek is a frequent location for previous visits on the same wavelength, and as we pulled up, we remembered that on this specific Sunday, the Cousins Lobster Food Truck was parked here for the day! A glass of Trek Cabernet for me (soda for the wife), a relaxing place to sit outside, and two lobster rolls - the best I've had in on the West Coast - and we were revived. Similar scenarios play out continuously at Trek Winery, our favorite hangout in Marin County for the past couple of years. In addition to excellent (and affordable) wine - the Trek Cabernet has simply become my go-to Red, and it's delicious, served by some of the nicest people you'll meet anywhere. Their other pours are both affordable (particularly for a very good product) and individualistic. Live comedy and music are also on-hand, bringing an amalgamation of styles that always delight. There are some headliner comedians as well as throwbacks (anyone remember the Unknown Comic from the old Gong Show?). Tour buses show up from time to time, and the last time one visited, we had a marvelous long chat with three visitors from the UK. Talk about a new way to create social connectivity, particularly as the pandemic wanes. Andy and Liz own and run Trek Winery, and they're as delightful as the surroundings. Andy can almost always be seen getting things ready, serving food, beer (yes, they make beer too!) and wine. They're proud business owners and they should be - for us, Trek Winery has no peer, and we're continually delighted to give them our business. Also I should mention, they run private events (as if we left anything out). They product olive oil and my wife's favorite candles, as well! We recently hosted our company Holiday party in the banquet room at Trek Winery. The room was perfect, plenty of space to mingle and plenty of seating. There are wine barrels lining the walls, a large stage area on one side of the room and a bar area on the other. Food was provided by Trek and it was amazing, the tri-tip and chicken were great. Kids and adults approved! The staff was very helpful in setting up, providing all the place settings, tables, drinks, food, glassware, microphone, music, etc. If you are looking for an easy venue to host an event with little to no stress of planning I highly recommend Trek Winery. read more

Well, this wasn't what I thought we would experience when going to a winery. This place is much more like a bar than a winery as it isn't on a vineyard. I did like that we got to taste a variety of wines that were mostly tasty. If you're staying nearby, it's worth a stop. read more

Fun little hang out spot to catch up with your friends, wine down from the work week, and/or drinks with your date. The owners are really friendly and they even opened past closing time because they were having a good time with the people still enjoying their wine. They have a big open area with big and small tables and 3 separated rooms for more privacy. They also have a shuffle board in the back. Once you walk in, to the right is the tasting area. They offer a red, white or mixed flight and bottles for purchases. I enjoyed the Quixote red blend! read more

Nice "urban" winery with knowledgable, friendly staff. It's also a brewery, so they have a selection of beer on tap. Server was very helpful in selecting a wine/beer, and if you order a tasting flight, it goes towards any bottle purchases you make that day. They had live Jazz music while we were there, which was a nice surprise. read more

And I was overly hopeful by showing in my Star Fleet uniform. Oh well... Overall its a nice place, with very nice inside lounge and outdoor patio. The staff was friendly, and amused, by us. The $5 Tasting fee is very reasonable, especially compared to the $15-25 fees you'll see in Napa. Wines were good enough, but I'm not much of a wine snob as I stick to the $4-6 wine bottles at Trader Joes. This is definitely a very nice alternative to crappy dive bars in Novato. I've heard about this place for awhile and we decided it was time. The fact they are dog friendly helped The wine here is very nice and the staff is super helpful to help you decide what you want to taste. The tasting price is super reasonable. They mentioned that they will be bringing their own beer on board so I'm looking forward to coming back for that. There is some entertainment during the week and that sounds like fun. Many thanks to Andy at Trek Winery! Trek hosted my wife's surprise birthday party in the banquet room. That's great room with wine barrels lining the side walls, a stage on one end and an awesome wine and micro brewery station on the other end. Trek staff were super helpful in setting up the room and tables, providing easels, safe battery operated candles, mic and sound system. The room has a wonderful red wine oak barrel aroma. They have a full kitchen and prep area for the caters to work with ease. Andy and his staff are super friendly and his room rental and wine and beer rates were really reasonable. I had my 10 year high school reunion here and it was a huge success. Andy and Michael were really easy to work with, the wine and beer options were excellent, the flatbread pizzas were amazing, and everything ran really smoothly. We love Trek. We have stopped in on many occasions and bought their wine. We were always waited on by very helpful and knowledgeable staff and love the ambience. Great downtown novato gem. This place is set up wonderfully with great indoor and outdoor space. My wife enjoyed our glasses of Pinot and also ventured to the new open PODS brew space for some delicious ipas. This place is also great because it is very family friendly as we brought our daughter and they have games for kids to play. We will be back many more times ! read more

Just had the worst experience at Trek Winery ever I took my mother there for Mother's Day yesterday to try the wines. She loves red wine and she's visiting from out of town. Usually I have heard nothing but great experiences here today was like no other. At first the lady did not want to even serve me a tasting or give my mom an experience of trying some red wines before she decided on the glass. she asked if I was a wine member and suggested I get a flight or buy a bottle instead of letting my mom try the wines first. I am a wine club member and I always enjoy my time at Trek but yesterday the woman gave some piss pour service to my mom on Mother's Day. Very Disappointing. I will let Andy, the owner know how I was treated. read more

FYI, this will be a review with some "OOOOMPH" behind it. Firstly, it was a perfect evening. My lady and I did a one day get away from the bustling city into the Novato. We had a delightful Air Bnb and I wanted to plan something additional. Fast forward to our Trek Winery experience. Arrived around 7:30pm post Whole Foods supply run (the Winery allows you to bring your own food at this time; we got crackers, cheeses, salmon, olives, you name it!). Started off the night with wine tastings and conversation with Andy (owner). Left feeling fulfilled, full, grapey and energized with the atmosphere that this winery has created. The environment combines a very comfortable home feel with that of a getaway vacation experience. From wall murals to the incredible hospitality of connection, the owner and workers allowed us to feel like family. There were fireplaces, branches on the ceiling, and combining that with honey, olive oil and INCREDIBLE wine, we indulged. Trek Winery is a get away and wherever you may be in Novato I encourage you to stop by. It is an oasis for all. p.s. the Syrah was MAGIC! Thank you Trek Winery. read more

What an awesome place to enjoy some tasty wine! The ambiance of the entire winery was so peaceful with the water feature plants and lights. We went when it was 110 degrees and the shade was perfect. The happy hour prices are the best in the area for sure! We brought our little corgi finny and he absolutely loved chilling on the patio! We will definitely be back and it's a must stop in downtown Novato! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Andy P.

Trek Winery is currently located in Novato, California. Our Winemaker and President is Andy Podshadley. Andy started his wine marketing career in the tasting room of Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves and quickly rose to the position of Northern California District Manager. He then moved to Allied Domecq Wines USA, the second largest wine company in the world at that time. He broadened his experience becoming the General Manager of a small winery in Sonoma. Andy has attended enology classes at UC Davis and is a Certified Wine Judge for the State of California. His personal involvement in winemaking, coupled with his employment history and studies, have provided him with the knowledge of all aspects of a winery's operations.

The grounds are beautiful, I see why many people choose this spot for weddings and parties. The old ranch house is still owned by a descendent of Ignacio Pacheco - for whose family our town, some shopping centers, and a bunch of streets (including Rowland) in Marin are all named. We were there on a beautiful November day at an event remembering a friend who had recently passed. Even though the event itself was bittersweet, the management at the ranch did an exceptional job of making our visit memorable. The family provided parking assistance, led all the guests to the beautiful outdoor space, and kept the food and beverages flowing during the memorial. I will definitely think of Pacheco for our next event!

Their prices are reasonable and their champagne is fantastic. Over the summer I had a wine slushee that was delicious. The atmosphere is cozy. There is plenty of seating and also a few rooms off to the side where you can also sit and enjoy your drink. It's nice to sit outside when the weather is warm. Sometimes there is live music which is a treat. They offer food from Finnegan's which is a couple doors down. The service is always friendly.

The 1998 Semillon was thick and silky, very complex with a breadth that one does not expect....start, middle and finish were distinctly different!! I tasted melon, grass and anise...but they said fig?? Either way, an uniquely full and rich wine. By far my favorite wine to date!! The 1974 Cuvee W (Chardonnay) was also thick and silky, but had more butter, spice, and a fruit...perhaps very ripe pineapple. Remarkable!! Proof positive that good whites age nicely!! This wine may not be for everyone, it is not the usual crisp, light bright type, but for a rich complex wine, it takes the prize!!! Kudos to Uncle Yu's for having such an amazing wine selection!!

She gave me the option to choose my own wines for the tasting but I left it to her, the professional to do it. She said I would know my group better in case we had preferences! She also gave me the option to pay early to maximize time on-site (which I didn't do because I wasn't confident on how many people in my group were gonna show up until the morning of.) The day before she sent us driving directions and the gate codes so we could make sure we could get there. Getting there was very easy per Lisa's instructions! Be sure to pay attention to the art pieces as you drive in, they're super cool. As we arrived, we were each handed our first glass of wine, and would continue to use that glass for the rest of the 5 tastings. I think we did 2 whites and 3 reds. Al explained all the wines to us and how all the grapes was grown right down the street. He was able to answer my group's questions. Personally I loved the white wines because that's my preferences, but I actually enjoyed the red wines for someone that doesn't like red wine. My friends loved the red wines too. Some of us also bought bottles to take home! They had 2 bathrooms which was a relief for my big group! The view was INSANE on the property. So beautiful and so glad that we came on a gorgeous, blue sky, sunny day. We definitely took advantage of the scenery with all the photos we took! Lisa helped us take photos as well. They also have 2 cute dogs (that they checked with us before they let roam around) that joined the group outside! My whole group loved Lisa and Al and they mingled with us for the 1.5 hours we were there. They walked us out and chatted with our bus driver too!! What a nice couple. Our wine steward (unfortunately I don't recall his name right now) was super friendly, conversational, and helpful, and he made sure we stayed on schedule because we had somewhere to be afterward. We all did wine tasting and each wine was really good. We also ordered some bites - the olive oil was so good that a few of us bought bottles to take home. The fuller food options we saw at other tables also looked good. Overall, a great experience at Anaba and I look forward to returning for a future visit.
