He sealed all the cracks, vent pipes, reinforced any loose gutter & then clean the roof & gutters. The estimate quote was shocking, but he explained since we had not cleaned the roof in 30 yrs, there was an excessive moss build up. After 4 days (at least 7 hrs/day), our roof looks like brand new! We Hired Simar and Save More roofing to put a new roof on our reno in North Vancouver. The roof was…read morecompleted in May 2017. We had a leak almost immediately. We have been trying to contact Simar for over two months and he refuses to answer or return our calls. Since then we have had an envelope inspector do a report on the roof. He found that the workmanship was very poor, and that standard roofing practices had not been followed, causing major issues with the roof. We have a very long list of all the mistakes that were made. We have had several reputable roofing companies look at the roof, and they all believe that it should be replaced entirely. This will be more expensive than starting with a new roof as the old roof will need to be removed. This repair has majorly delayed the rest of the renovation. It has also added costs in terms of drywalling, general delay and also extended rental at our current home. Additionally, due to a bank error, Simar was overpaid $3200, which he acknowledged and promised to return to us. It is many months later and he has not returned the money, nor has he contacted us. We have a signed contract offering a five year warranty. Dealing with Simar and Save More Roofing has not only been very stressful, but in the end it will have cost us additional tens of thousands. We have been nothing but polite and have tried to resolve this peacefully, but there is no response form Simar.

Scottie provided the quote and was our main contact and he was a sheer delight to work with. What an asset he is to the company! The Team arrived on time, was very courteous and worked through some of the hottest days in the summer (left cold drinks for them everyday) and then into some rain (which they had to pause for). Everyday, the Team cleaned up the yard, tools and equipment. Scottie suggested that I didn't need the gutters replaced and that they would simply clean them out after the project (which they did a fine job on). We opted for Busy Boys because we were impressed with Mike's thoroughness and attention to detail. We took three quotes and his was the middle one but we would have choosen him even if he came in on top. Once the work started, his crew was on time and they were good solid workers. Most of the roof was redone on the first day. We had an aging skylight and Mike recommended it be replace. He was also an authorized installer for that brand. I wish we had had him do the initial install 20 years ago. It was done so quickly and efficiently. We had to compliment the crew for their clean-up. Our deck was cleaner after they were done than it had been. A bit of trash had fallen in our neighbours yard and that was also taken care of.
