During the inspection, one of the vehicles showed a check engine light, which only proved why careful checking is necessary. We weren't using any tools or doing anything excessive -- just visual inspection and starting the cars. Despite the fact that we were serious buyers and ready to purchase, the older owner became irritated, kept saying that "all the vehicles are the same," and complained that we were wasting his time just by asking for keys to compare another van. Instead of helping, he pressured us to buy immediately or leave. That attitude is unacceptable when selling used vehicles. If a dealer doesn't allow buyers to properly inspect cars, it raises serious concerns. We left and will not return or recommend this place.

BUT - of course, there's a reason why there's a fine print before signing the contract that states, "We are not responsible for any issues after purchase" - in our part, we ignored this because during our test drive, everything seemed fine. I KID YOU NOT, the following day, issues started occurring. The brakes make a weird squeaky sound when you brake and the passenger side door doesn't automatically unlock/lock with the key OR without the key (you have to manually maneuver it from inside the vehicle by opening it with the handle and pressing down on the lock to ensure it's locked.) All these concerns didn't pop up for us until the day after which made us both question if , Chris, the guy who sold it to us knew about it but just wanted to cash us out. Highly disappointed ever since as we now have to fix these problems that should've been addressed to us in the first place.

But, in a market where cars are in high demand, supply is drastically low, and are selling for $10k+ over MSRP... thats as good as it gets. We were referred to Arkady through a friend. Hubby has a long history in retail sales, so the car buying experience has always been... eventful, as everyone knows. But now with 2 toddlers in tow, we weren't able to dedicate the months-long research, wheeling and dealing, and multiple dealership trips all over the Bay Area to get what we wanted.
