Beyond Grateful for Dr. Ali and His Amazing Team! I honestly cannot thank Dr. Ali and his staff enough for everything they have done for me. I am beyond grateful! Back in 2017, I made the decision to crown every tooth in my mouth because I didn't want implants. I hired a dentist in Santa Rosa, California, to do the work. At the time, my teeth were chipped and discolored, and I was missing many of my back teeth. Smiling and eating had become things I felt embarrassed about. I found myself avoiding conversations with people who had beautiful teeth, and I often judged myself because of the way my own teeth looked. After spending tens of thousands of dollars on crowns, I eventually found myself needing to get implants one at a time because my crowns kept cracking and I continued needing root canals after the crowns were placed. The cost of doing one implant at a time was adding up quickly, and I knew something had to change. The straw that broke the camel's back was when two more crowns cracked in the back of my mouth at the same time! That's when I began shopping around, from Santa Rosa to Sacramento, Walnut Creek, and Marin. I visited five different offices, met with their staff, compared prices, and explored different treatment options. I even chose an office and left a deposit. Then, I came across Dr. Ali's Facebook ad. Honestly, I don't even know why I decided to call, but I'm so glad I did! After speaking with Mina on the phone, I liked what they had to offer. However, I had already made my decision. Even though Dr. Ali's price was several thousand dollars less, and they used a precision-placement robot, I was still hesitant to change my plans. A week or two later, Mina called me again and asked if I was sure I didn't want to come in for a complimentary consultation. I thought, Why not? So I went in. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made! Although Dr. Ali's office is quite a drive for me, the experience has been absolutely worth it. His bedside manner, his willingness to explain all my options, and the fact that I never felt pressured into choosing what he thought was best for me were such a breath of fresh air. I felt comfortable with Dr. Ali and his entire staff. They treated me like family, and that meant so much to me. Now, the robot, on the other hand, wasn't exactly interested in building a personal relationship with me, but it sure knew its job! All jokes aside, I am incredibly thankful that I made that phone call and took the time to visit Dr. Ali's office. After everything I had been through with my teeth, finding a team that made me feel comfortable, respected, and confident in my treatment options was a blessing. Thank you, Dr. Ali, Mina, and the entire team, for your kindness, patience, professionalism, and for making me feel like more than just another patient. I truly appreciate all of you! Finding an excellent dentist for a dental implant can be challenging, and I feel very fortunate to have found an exceptional one: Dr. Mohamed Ali. In 2022, I came to see Dr. Mohamed for a dental implant, and what followed was truly a wonderful experience. From the very beginning, Dr. Mohamed and his staff welcomed me with warmth and genuine care. He took the time to explain the entire procedure in detail and reassured me that my implant would have an excellent outcome. His confidence and professionalism immediately put me at ease, especially since I had been concerned about the pain and discomfort associated with the procedure. As it turned out, the experience was much easier than I had expected. Beyond his extensive knowledge and expertise in dentistry, what impressed me most was the use of Yomi robotic technology for my implant procedure. The process begins with a 3D CT scan of the patient's jaw, followed by the use of Yomi Plan software to carefully map the exact location, depth, and angulation of the implant while taking into account critical anatomical structures such as nerves and sinuses. Thanks to this highly precise approach, my procedure went smoothly, without any complications involving my nerves or surrounding structures. Another thing I greatly appreciated was that immediately after the implant procedure, I was provided with temporary dentures made by the in-house laboratory. This allowed me to eat and speak naturally during the healing process, which made a big difference in my daily life. Today, I have beautiful, natural-looking teeth that look and feel authentic, smooth, and healthy. I am extremely grateful to Dr. Mohamed for his exceptional care, skill, and dedication. Thank you very much, Dr. Mohamed! I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Mohamed to anyone considering a dental implant. My experience was excellent from beginning to end, and I am very happy with the result. read more

I love Muhammad Ali! He certainly **"was the greatest"** on so many levels. Years ago, I was desperately searching for someone who could help me with my teeth when I came across **Dr. Mohamed Ali** in a Google search. What an incredible find! Dr. Ali has been a leader in implant surgery and a pioneer in his field. His expertise, advice, and exceptional care have truly changed my life. Because of him, I no longer have to live with the constant stress of wondering when a loose tooth might fall out, what foods I can safely eat, or how wide I can comfortably smile. As a former professional women's basketball player, I have been hit in the mouth more times than I can count -- and unfortunately, my teeth have suffered the consequences over the years. Finding Dr. Ali gave me not only excellent dental care, but also peace of mind and confidence in my smile again. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Ali and his wonderful team, including his wife, Mona; his office manager, Maina; Kevin, his IT guy; and all of the terrific hygienists and interns who have cared for me over the years. I truly cannot express enough gratitude for everything Dr. Ali and his team have done for me. **Muhammad Ali may always be "The Greatest" in the boxing ring, but when it comes to taking care of my smile, Dr. Mohamed Ali is my G.O.A.T!** I recommend him and his practice wholeheartedly! read more

I had an implant and bone graft for my front tooth (#8) at Implants Pro Center with Dr. Mohamed Ali. My consultation and estimate were on 03/11/2025 for $6,083. I paid a $2,000 deposit that day and the remaining balance on the surgery date, 04/28/2025. From the start, I explained that my final crown would be done by my cosmetic dentist, who had previously treated both front teeth (#8 and #9). Dr. Ali and I agreed he would complete the implant and provide the final evaluation and written clearance so I could proceed with the crown. The surgery and healing went well. On 06/04/2025, I contacted the office to coordinate the final report and was told it would not be a problem. I was informed that a digital CT scan would only be charged if requested, around $200, which I agreed to. On 08/12/2025 (my final visit), I was told for the first time that a CT scan was required and would cost $500. My cosmetic dentist confirmed he only needed a written report. I declined the scan, as it should have been part of the procedure as agreed. Dr. Ali examined my tooth and gums and said the fee had to be charged "either at the front or the end" to run the business and pay staff. On 08/19/2025, I noticed a $252 CT scan charge submitted to insurance with no date of service. I emailed the office questioning the charge and requesting the report. I never received an answer about the charge, and the report did not include the implant product name or specifications. My cosmetic dentist had to contact Dr. Ali's office and the manufacturer directly to obtain the necessary information. This delayed my crown placement by two months, completed in October. My main concern is this type of bait-and-switch practice. Dr. Ali is a skilled implant dentist, but patients should be aware that unless every step--including fees, requirements, and reports--is clearly documented in writing, unexpected charges or delays can occur. I am writing this review so future patients can make informed decisions. read more

Dr. Mohamed Ali is incredibly kind, and he has a wonderful staff ما شاء الله and also I want to especially commend Ms. Janice for her positive tone, kindness, and patience when I spoke with her over the phone. I have an impacted wisdom tooth with a cavity that needs extraction soon, and I'm feeling nervous since I've never had this done before. Honestly, I'm more anxious about the sedation and being put to sleep than the actual procedure itself, which adds to my fear. But there are more options to discuss in detail in my upcoming appointment and even before my appointment date the Doctor and Ms Janice are already making me feel less anxious about it. I visited the office yesterday to drop off some important files, and Dr. Mohamed Ali generously took the time to listen to my concerns. They even tried to fit me in for a same-day consultation and pushed my consultation appointment earlier instead of making me wait until next week. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay long as I was in a hurry and my husband had to drive me back to Berkeley before he goes to work, but that really shows how much they care about their patients. My husband was also a patient of Dr. Ali's and he told me about him and my brother-in-law was also a patient of his and both my husband and his brother had excellent experience with him. My appointment is next week, and I plan to ask more questions then. I feel confident about Dr. Ali and his staff truly care about their patients. I'll keep posting reviews and will provide updates after my appointment, as I believe sharing experiences can help others who are going through similar situations. I appreciate the extra mile that Dr. Mohamed Ali and Ms. Janice go to, their kindness and gentleness make a significant difference. Thank you so much. شكرا كتير read more

On march 11th at 1:00pm I had an appointment with doctor Ali to finish my dental work which consisted of two more implants with the robot that he uses. I went under and the procedure began, at some point I was awakened from severe pain to my face and mouth from this robot and dr. Ali and his two assistants were there and I stated to him to stop because the pain w so severe I was crying and he stated NO! We're halfway through, again I said no I am in extreme pain 7-8 times. Dr Ali then grabbed my head and pinned my head to the chair while his assistant tied my feet and the other one pinned my arms down to the chair. I started kicking and screaming no! What are you doing? Then his assistant reached over me and turned up the gas I guess and knocked me back out. When I finally came to it was 7:00pm and even then I did not fully regain full consciousness until maybe 11:00pm. They gave me over the dose required so as to facilitate this crime. I have an audio recording of my words and his also. I have been going to him almost two years and he never showed a hint of what he transformed into on march 11th @ 1:00pm I now have the responsibility to make everyone aware of who/what they are dealing with. it hurts me to have to write this but I have no choice. The three of them must be held accountable for what they did to me. I am a psychological. Mess right now and they pulled my arm damn near out the socket not to mention the fear, mental anguish inflicted on me among many other things. it unbelievable even to me when I reflect but it is very much real. I have a upcoming interview with NY TIMES to talk about this ordeal. Public beware. I have got no answers as to why he did this to me.my arm that had previously been injured feels as though it cannot move. So much medication was given to me that I can just now revisit documenting events .Craig ogans o stars read more

Had 13 implants done in one visit. Absolutely no pain afterwards. Did not even need a pain pill. Very happy with the results.

This man is the worst dentist I've been to in my 64 years. He first billed me $20,000 and when I said that was way too much he said, he liked me, and he would knock off 20%. I told him I would pay $11000, and the rest as needed. My mouth hurt for weeks, so Ali had me come back in to fix the problem. After 3 visits, he still could not fix the problem and he charged me for the visits. He stole money from me by billing me $5000 for work he did not do. I now am forced to sue him in court. 16 months later. The internet is full of great dentists. All is needed, is research on reviews of dentists. read more

I went to Dr. Ali since I was not happy with my smile and my teeth were always chipping. His staff is awesome since they made it possible for me to see Dr. Ali right away. They are very quick to respond and send text reminders about my appointments. Took x-rays of my teeth and he discussed options for the route we would take to get me closer to a nicer smile. He explained these options very thoroughly and made sure I was comfortable with the treatment plan we were going to use. He makes sure that his work is something that I would be happy with. One front tooth was chipped off then he told me he would fix the 4 front teeth so he did not mind staying late to complete the work. While I am waiting for my Invisalign, he fixed my front teeth with nice white composite. I can't wait to look in the mirror with a better smile. I'm sure it will be great because of Dr. Ali. His office is clean and bright, his machines are new and state of the art. Going to the dentist does not have to be so painful and inconvenient with a nice dentist like Dr. Ali and his staff. Would recommend Dr. Ali as a reliable and very capable general dentist and cosmetic dentist. Five stars! read more

The environment changes the moment I entered the dental office for a pre screening You can smell a clean and sterile surrounding. I was met with a smile by all the people inside the office and they started the procedures with speed and professionalism very shortly. I noticed that all the equipment they have are very modern and I was very much impressed with the CT scan machine that took a 3D image of my skull. Then shortly afterwards, Dr. Ali sat down with me for the consult and an appointment was set up for the implants. What a pleasant experience. read more

I too got the Zoom whitening done here. During my first appointment, I was informed that the filling put in Tooth #19 by my old dentist was jenky and another cavity had burrowed its way underneath and if measures weren't taken RIGHT AWAY I'd need a root canal. ...also "Did you know you have a chip in your front tooth?" was said by both Dr. Ali and his assistant. Yes, I'm fully aware I have a chip in my front tooth. I used to play basketball. It's a rough sport. So anyways I denied both procedures, promising that I'd get them done back home in Portland by the dentist who messed up that filling. Better get it done for free, that's all I'm sayin'. I had had a loooong day when I had my second appointment, so I kept falling asleep even as that zoom lamp was channeling its blinding rays into my pried-open jaws. Kind of funny. I didn't feel pain until that night. DA-YUM did it hurt! I kept poundin' back ibuprofen to no avail, but in 24 hours the pain subsided. Dr. Ali has very friendly staff. Mostly Filipina women, so I felt like I was surounded by all of my aunties and it was quite calming. read more

Dr. Ali is quite possibly one of the best dentists I've been to in SF. I've had terrible experiences with other dentists that basically try to milk my insurance and woo me with a free toothbrush, but Dr. Ali tells it like it is and truly cares about his patients. He won't recommend things you don't need because he's a trustworthy doctor. Even though he doesn't accept my insurance, I still pay out of pocket for procedures here because he is THAT good. Wish I knew about him when I first moved to SF. read more

I have found Dr. Ali and his ENTIRE staff to be very sensitive and caring. When I first went, I was in a considerable amount of distress [and pain] and had tremendous anxiety about the dentist, in general. They took all of that into consideration when treating me and made me feel very comfortable and safe. Upon returning for a follow up, everyone remembered my name and was very friendly. Dr. Ali has been very explanatory about everything that he recommends doing. When I called with some concerns the day after a procedure, my call was returned promptly and all my questions answered. The office is quite modern and bright. I would recommend this practice to anyone. ESPECIALLY of you're a big chicken, like me. read more

Did not enjoy my visit with this dentist. The hygenist was awesome, but he told me that I would need to have my 2 year old bridges replaced because they were not done right. Dr. Ali really came through for me. Dare I say it, but he saved my life. The day before 4th of July weekend I was laid up with the most terrible, agonizing tooth pain that I have ever felt. It was intense and getting worse - after hearing about certain horror stories about dental pain going terribly wrong - I decided to seek emergency care. I called Dr. Ali's office (which was normally closed on saturdays) and explained my symptoms to the receptionist. She then patched me directly to the Dr. and after a short consultation - he told me that he would meet me at this office in a few hours. Long story short - I had to have an emergency root canal, due to a nasty infection - he went to work right away, all by himself mind you, no dental hygienist helping him at all. And he does in fact have some pretty sophisticated tools - I actually watched my entire procedure on the video screen on the ceiling. It was pretty crazy. He is a badass, communicates very well and is very good at putting you at ease because he sympathizes with your discomfort. The staff is also very cool and nice. He even gave me a personal follow up phone call to see how I was holding up. Wow. Highly highly recommended. read more

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Ali and his wonderful team. Everyone is friendly, professional, and excellent at what they do. Dr. Ali isn't a salesman. Other dentists I tried before finding Dr. Ali tried to sell me into a dental procedure. Dr. Ali just gives you the facts and lets you make the decision. Safe to say that Dr. Ali will be my dentist for as long as I live in the Bay Area. read more

Good, because: friendly staff, operations quick and painless, clean office, modern equipment. Bad, very bad, because: 1) Root canals don't last long. I had three or four with Dr Ali, one failed 2-3 years later --tooth actually split into two-- the other failed 4-5 years later. This is despite the fact that I take good care of them. 2) Salesy. I learned that 2-3 of these ops were unnecessary. I went to Dr Ali for an immediate need. He ended up selling me those other root canals, and wisdom teeth extraction ops + signed me up for a credit card!? I was new to the country and I had told him I only needed the bare minimums, but he explained if I didn't get these done I could have this and that, he even mentioned cancer at some point. 3) Expensive! he's in a prime location, that's why. But it is expensive. Especially for root canals that don't last long. Lesson learned. When picking your next dentist, don't believe in online reviews, people write it right after the operation based on how painless and smooth the operation was, but not actually the long term value. read more

I fell and lost my front tooth around 1:30 am on Easter Sunday in Livermore CA, and was hard pressed to find an emergency dentist. After hours of bureaucratic phone loops spanning the entirety of the Bay Area, Dr. Ali was reached. Previous dentists I had managed to get a hold of (including my regular dentist) gave me dismal hope, saying original teeth seldom survive after being dislocated. Getting emergency advice from anyone reached was pretty much like pulling teeth - pun intended. (As a side note, anyone finding themselves in a similar situation should immediately replace a missing tooth back in the socket, for a better chance of survival). Back to the review at hand... Dr. Ali answered the call at around 2 or 3 am and immediately went to his office to meet me. After an hour's drive to San Francisco, holding my tooth in place, I was greeted by the ornate building on Sutter st. where Dr. Ali and his wife, who was filling in for secretary, were waiting. Dr. Ali was kind and excellent at communicating every part of the procedure. I was impressed by how gentle the seemingly violent needles of local anesthesia felt, and by the way Dr. Ali carefully listened to my teeth as he wove a splint. The splint ended up looking more like a piece of jewelery than some sort of uncomfortable orthadonture, every component was well crafted. I am extremely grateful to Dr. Ali. for his help, and his expert ability - he is an artist who truly understands the language of teeth. read more

Dr. Ali is by far one of THE BEST dentists in San Francisco/ BayArea. He is absolutely THE BEST dentist I've seen in my life! Trust me, I have bad teeth and I've been to many practices but I have never had such amazing experience like this. Dr. Ali is so kind, very empathetic with his patients. If you are looking for a doctor who is knowledgeable, experienced and cares about their patients; Dr. Ali is the one! I went to his practice, for wisdom tooth extraction with IV sedation. I was very nervous and scared. I had a horrible experience with my previous dentist; it was a nightmare. Anyways, Dr. Ali made me feel at ease, he assured that the process will be quick and easy. And yes, I did not feel any pains at all.( I mean at all!) It was so comfortable and I am healed so fast due to the provided treatment. In addition, his staffs are very friendly and super nice. You'll always feel welcomed from the first point of contact until you are done. They even reach out to you after the service, making sure you are doing okay after the procedure. My experience with Dr. Ali and his staffs are way beyond exceptional! It was very pleasant! It appears that my initial review has been removed. What gives, Yelp?? I went on a groupon too, because I had no dental insurance. The hygienist was great- likeable, professional, thorough. I don't remember her name (I mentioned it in my first review, I'm sure, but it was six months ago). Dr Ali came in and told me I needed further work and it was going to be upwards of three grand to do the work but he'd give me a discount. But he doesn't take payments, even automatically to a credit card- it's all or nothing. They have that 'care credit' card you can apply for, which I did, but was denied. Anyhow. Dr Ali's bedside manner is indeed quite gruff, and scary. I wasn't sure what to do. I waited. Because of my inability to pay at once, and since he refused to do the work or work with me on payments, even though I needed to have work done, I crossed my fingers. I ended up with an emergency root canal four months later, with a different dentist/endodontist as my care provider- He takes payments, doesn't treat people with no insurance like peasants, and is kind, gentle and understanding- explaining all along what will happen and needs to be done. Dr Rezai has won my business forever. Dr Ali- will never see me darken his doorway again. read more

The staff in the office are excellent. Dr Ali is friendly and I had several visits where mistakes were made by the Dr. Most specifically when I spent 3 hours waiting for a crown to be prepared in his office. When the crown was completed and the dr placed it in my mouth he made an error and the crown was glued into my mouth in error. The dr said, with no apologies, that "we could spend a few more hours and do it over or I can temporarily fix it so you can come back another time." Any respect I had for the dr was gone after thIs debacle. It is unfortunate because his staff are wonderful and truly inviting. They work very hard in supporting the dr and specifically the patients. read more

Saw him once on an emergency basis, when I traveled to San Francisco. He fixed my teeth, but the dental work fell apart a couple of years later. This guy saved me. I had two temporary fillings come out while eating tortellini . I panicked because those fillings are deep and my teeth were immediately sensitive to air. Last time I broke a filling I lost my back tooth :( so I was naturally paranoid. She told me to go to Walgreens and fill the fillings myself with dental wax. I wasn't really into this idea due to the sensitivity of my teeth. Just moved to San Francisco and got referred to Dr. Ali. Teeth cleaning was good - hygentist spent some extra time with me since I hadn't been in for a teeth cleaning in a while. Cameras, machines to make the filling, etc. Only complaint is the numbing injections hurt more than usual. Dr. Ali himself is calm and patient. And he explains the how/why. Dr Ali started the treatment and while waiting for the anesthetic to kick in on me he went to deal with another patient. Through no fault of anyone's he ran into some issues and had to spend longer than he expected with that person. So I was waiting about 30-45 mins longer than expected. They checked in on me multiple times, asked if I was ok or if I wanted to change my appointment etc. I was fine so I stayed. Then I get home and there's a delicious edible arrangement waiting at my door step with an apology note for the delay. For real!? Who does that??? This team are truly awesome and I do not say that lightly. In my mind there was no reason for an apology.. believe me they have had to deal with my dilemmas more than once and have stayed late into the evening to finish surgeries on me that didn't go quite as expected. They go above and beyond and this is just another example! If anyone is ever looking around for a dental practice look no further. Dr Ali, Cherry, Arlene & Hazel are sure to take care of you and will keep you smiling / laughing while they do so!! Thank you :-D read more
