    Broken heels

Excellent service! My heels broke on the first day of a conference that I was in Chicago for. Found Imperial Shoe Services and they were able to fix my heels in 20 minutes while I waited. They looked a mess when I brought them in, and they fixed them beautifully. I walked 7+ miles over the weekend in them and they held up perfectly!

So I have a cute little backpack I got a few years back And the zipper hasn't been working for a year or so. I was looking for places to fix zippers and finally found this gem in the loop! I chatted with the owner and found out it's a family owned company and one of the family member Ricardo was very patient and nice in helping me figure out what was wrong with my bag zipper:)) Instead of charging me around 35-40 for replacing the entire zipper, he was very honest and told me that it's likely the slide is having issues . I called today and he said my bag is ready! So happy:) zipper works great and I only paid $20 for the slide replacement! ( looks exactly the same as the one I had before!) Excited to use my favorite bag again thanks to imperial shoes!

Visvim Serra Boot. Soles decoupling-- dirty.

Incredible work. I flew this morning and these were the only boots I had & I blew the sole of one of them right before I walked onto the plane-- my luck. I called the shop in a pinch because I really need something. He was able to flawlessly re-glue in a couple of hours and he even cleaned them for me. Amazing work for an amazing price too. 10/10 go there go there go there.

Visible gray glue, jagged leather, missing stitches on the sides

I came in to get a leather strap shortened and the craftsmanship of the result was absolutely terrible. The leather was cut jagged, there was visible gray glue, the threads were frayed, and it looked so messy. The photos show the side they worked on compared to the side left untouched (it was brand new). On top of that, when I went to pick up the item on the day I was told it'd be ready, I was told they were "working on it" at that moment and that I could return the next day. When I returned the next day, I still had to wait 10 minutes because they were still "working on it." There was no apology either time. Had the quality of the work been good, I would not have minded the delay. If you care about your items at all, I would not recommend entrusting them to this place.

Before: I brought these shoes in with half of the heel gone. It looks like it had been glued on in the factory.

I purchased a pair of Chloe scalloped ballet flats in January and had only worn them a handful of times. Lo and behold, I was walking around my house a couple of weeks ago, getting ready to go out, when the half-moon portion of the heel--which had been glued on--fell off without any warning. Fortunately I could change into another pair of shoes and go on my merry way, but it was still a disruption in my day. Thinking I would go to the source, I decided to go to Bloomingdale's where I bought the shoes in the first place. The salesperson and manager explained that they could not take the shoes back, or do an exchange, given that they were damaged. I was taken aback, given the $$$ spent on these shoes. At one point I was told that the quality of Chloe shoes had declined, which made me feel a little better but still left me with a damaged pair of shoes on my hands (err...feet). After fruitlessly looking for a repair place now that the Pedway shoe drop location is closed, I wised up and consulted the Yelp app. I found the listing for Imperial Shoe Crafters, nearby and rocking several five-star reviews. I came in on a Friday and my shoes were ready in about a week. The formerly jerry-rigged soles were replaced with rubber ones, and sole guards were added. The service was professional all around and it was good to know that I am supporting a local businessperson. I will definitely be back for all my shoe and handbag repair needs.

Took in a pair of my favorite BCBG boots that were pretty badly worn out AND had broken heel tips because I attempted to replace them myself.. I thought they were a lost cause but I was wrong. Within two days, I got a miracle-- at a very reasonable price: my boots look almost brand new!! So pleased with the repair work. I highly recommend this place!

Before pic of lining of Vintage Gucci Bamboo Drawstring Bag. Lining was trashed & sticky. Unusable

Imperial is far and away the BEST in Chicago not only for shoes but for handbags, wallets , briefcases etc. I have brought many of my Vintage Gucci & Bottega Veneta handbags , shoes and wallets for restoration. Some needed FULL relining . Ricardo is very far and wonderful to work with. My items look brand new! I regret I didn't take before pictures of all to post the before & after. I will post all the pictures I do have.

    Fixed Zipper

I was afraid my right shoe zipper would differ from the other. He fixed my zipper within 3 days, closed on Sunday's.

    New sole looked like new

We are very impressed with the craftsmanship of the staff in this shoe repair store. The gentleman who helped us was very knowledgeable and explained to us in detail the process. We felt his genuine concern and the vibe that he really wanted to do a good job. We were amazed with the amazing outcome of the product. The old shoe now looked new and exactly like the one on display in one of the department stores recently. Awesome job Imperial Shoe Services! Greatly appreciate it!

    Now that's a Cesar shine!

I came in with an old beat up pair of shoes and left with them looking brand-new for $7!!!!!!! They do it all and are the best in the city! If you need anything else Mary is La Jefa!!!!!!!! I will never go anywhere else!

    Amazing job.

Great shoe shine. Went above and beyond to get rid of some paint on my shoes, which I thought would never come off.

IF YOU HAVE A PAINFUL NEUROMA in your foot. This one is for you!…read more TLDR:: Dr Usman is Seriously Amazing. Extremely comprehensive and did not rush AT ALL. The wait and the 4 hour drive to see him was WELL worth it. My story; For more than two years, I lived with constant pain from a Morton's neuroma. What started as occasional discomfort gradually became something that affected nearly every part of my life. Simple things most people take for granted became difficult. Walking my dog, standing in the kitchen to cook dinner, shopping, traveling, and even getting through a workday were painful. At night, I would often lie awake because of the burning, tingling, and electric shock sensations shooting through my foot. I honestly felt hopeless. I constantly googled, ChatGPT, researched on line and did so much. Over the years, I saw multiple doctors (1 sports medicine MD, 1 orthopedic doctor and one podiatrist l) and tried just about everything that was recommended. I went through custom orthotics, physical therapy, shoe modifications, several cortisone injections, and alcohol sclerosing injections. While some treatments provided temporary relief, the pain always returned and returned with a vengeance! Eventually, I was told by my local doctor that surgical nerve removal was likely my next option. The idea of surgery, recovery time, and the possibility that it still might not solve the problem left me feeling extremely discouraged. That's when I searched and emailed Dr Usman (used the main email which his staff forwarded to his direct email). He replied so quickly to me even though I was not an official patient of his! I immediately scheduled an appointment with Dr. Usman. From my first visit, I felt that my concerns were genuinely being heard. Dr. Usman took the time to review my history, explain why previous treatments may not have worked, and discuss all available options. One treatment we discussed was cryosurgery (cryoablation), a minimally invasive procedure designed to treat my painful nerves by using extremely cold temperatures. After a few weeks later, I was cleared for the procedure and the procedure itself was so much easier than I expected. It was performed in his extremely clean and Beautiful office. During the procedure at several points he made me felt very comfortable and checked up on me and explained in detail what he was doing. He made a very small pin point entry point in my foot and did cryosurgery for my neuroma! I had no large incisions or stitches. I was able to walk out of the office afterward wearing a comfortable surgical shoe. About 1 week after the cryoabalation of my neuroma, I woke up, stepped on the ground with my bare feet and I had ZERO pain. For the first time! The pain that had controlled my life for years finally began to improve. Today, about 6 weeks later, I am back to doing the activities I had given up. I can walk longer distances, enjoy social events, and spend time with family without constantly thinking about my foot. The sharp burning, walking on a rock pebble and electrical sensations that once dominated my day are no longer part of my everyday life. No treatment is right for every patient, and everyone's results are different. However, if you have been struggling with Morton's neuroma, have tried multiple conservative treatments, or have been told surgery is your only remaining option, it may be worth learning more about cryosurgery/cryoabalation and discussing whether it is appropriate for your situation. I only write this review to help those out there still struggling like I was. For me, finding Dr. Usman and Michigan Avenue Podiatry Clinic was a turning point. After years of frustration, I finally found relief and was able to get back to living my life. If you're on the fence about seeing Dr Usman for your foot problems. I would highly encourage you to see him. Best Podiatrist in Chicago and beyond!
