I'm restoring some large format historic maps of our county that aren't in the best shape... I'm a local history buff leading a gaggle (technical term) of local history projects in El Dorado Hills... Trying desperately to make this stuff meaningful to AP history students at Oak Ridge High school. Until last week I was using an old version of photoshop. Took a motley collection of TIFF & jpg & BITMAPs in. Wes was able to work with them all, while I stood there laying with his cat. But more importantly gave me great advice on how to clean up the originals better... Suggested I download new cloud-based Photoshop trial version, which is light years beyond my version 7. The results have been amazing. They were able to upsize the files on the printer. I subsequently learned Photoshop CC also does good upsizing. And the prices are cheap. Like $6 for 3' tall and 4' wide in monochrome. All the tiny little place names are readable. Color is more but not that much. And I'm thinking of getting them laminated for classroom use : $12. read more

Wow, wish I would have read the reviews before connecting with this business. I was looking to order quite a few items from them and when I asked if they were able to provide them, I was told by someone named Rob that I should "try Amazon to find plenty of good options". I have never had a business refer me to Amazon for services that they actually provide. Imperial printing was bought out from the LOCAL PLACERVILLE owners approx. one year ago. 6/25/24 @ 4:50pm I walk in to have a set of boat ID stickers made. I have one foot in the door and the bald headed male "Manager" IMMEDIATELY says "We are getting ready to go home". I think "Ok, this will take two minutes. Write down the name, tel number, the (8) letters/numbers on the work order and we are done." I say ' That is ok, this order will only take two minutes and I don't need anything this afternoon. It can be done within a couple of days". The "Manager" says "We are getting ready to go home!" with a more "important tone" to his speech. I get the hint: He has 10 minutes left in the working day and he does not want to spend two minutes to accept another order. Well then.... I tell myself that if they don't want my business, I can take it elsewhere like Diamond Printing or Spot-On sign printing OR even www.instaprint.com !!!! I took one step backwards to leave and he THEN says "What do you need?" I responded, "That's ok.... you need to get home." and I walked out. I have used Imperial printing since '88 when I moved to PVille. I have just heard that the new owners will be closing this location and taking down the hill to Sacramento. Well, with a "Manager" like that (THAT IS DOING NO FAVORS FOR THE OWNERS) - I would not patronize this business if you paid me. read more

From the looks of it if you want major printing done or some thing special, hat, shirt or marquee this is you place. If you just want a set of copies just don't... you're better if not having them, buying yourself a laser printer, or ironically going to office max. Apparently their program can't do "specific" printing, considering I can do it at home and school all the time.... and apparently only ONE person knows how to set up the pages like I wanted.... believe me it's not rocket science. "Only because i know I can print it up but any other person here would charge you a set up charge ($35). You have to send it to us exactly how you want it" apparently a print shops job is just to receive your job and just press print anything else is extra?? (Alarming that only ONE person in a Print shop know how to operate simple printing function) (*for the récord i myself use to work at a print shop, and that shop never charged people for the request i made. I know my way around a copier and how to printing big elaborate printing request. So for them to be annoyed when I pointed out that it was printed incorrectly took me back ) So needless to say I felt like request was a favor... Even though she did another set they where still wrong. I just needed the prints ASAP for my class online lecture (yeah coronavirus) Just went out and bought myself a laser printer. That's how bad of a taste they left in my mouth. And obviously wrote this obnoxious review. I really wanted to support local business, especially during this time. read more

This great local business is a gem. I have only received excellent customer service from the staff throughout the years we've been printing here. Imperial is our first choice stop for all our business printing needs. As well as personal printing. They are super-fast and friendly. Their designer is very gifted and took my stick figure drawing of a soccer team flag and made it wonderful!! Better than I imagined. :) read more

Have had nothing but great experience using Imperial Printing on a variety of projects including 4-color brochures, newsletters, invitations/envelopes, fliers, etc. Their service is excellent--friendly, fast and high quality. And their prices are comparable to--in some cases less than--some of the huge online print sources I sometimes use. After reading through the one negative review I had to conclude there was a huge communications gap and the client should have gone someplace that specializes in photographic printing (especially since he wanted it on "photo paper"), not a shop with offset and digital presses. Not a big fan! Went in for some blue prints after calling first to be sure this was a service they offered. On the phone the girl was friendly and said of course and that I could even wait while they were printed. I got in and another girl met me at the counter, took my blueprints from me, got my name, and stared at me for a second. Both of us clearly a little confused, I opened my mouth to speak and she cut me off with - "What, you want them right now?" I would have been happy to come back for them but since the person on the phone had mentioned I could wait for them and have them in a matter of minutes it made it seem like that was how they typically did it so that is what I was expecting. After that she seemed fine (though not friendly) and ran the blueprints while I waited. The pricing was much higher than anywhere else I had been in the area. Had I received the customer service I expected when talking to the girl on the phone, the higher pricing probably wouldn't have bothered me as I am willing to pay extra for good service, but that is not what I received at all. It's a shame one employee was able to ruin the whole experience... Will not be returning. read more

I found this business on Google. They are close, the pricing was great, and they were open. So my boyfriend and I head down there. The lady that helped us was nice, but I don' t think she understood my request. I asked her if I could show her the file on a computer but she told me to hold on one minute and went to the back room with my flash drive to do...I'm not sure what. Two "I'm sorry's", and almost 45 minutes later, she brings me the court documents I needed printed out and a colored print in the middle of a sheet of white paper. Now to be fair she did understand that these were to be made into pages for my planner. But she used the wrong file. The gentleman in the store told me that I couldn't have it printed the way I want because the ink prints larger than the paper....again I told them they used the wrong file and that the right file would fit....the gentleman told me he couldn't find the file (later I looked to make sure I did put the file on the flash drive ...the file was below to the one they used.) I was done arguing with them about what I wanted. I paid for the documents and the page they printed wrong and left. I usually will give a business a few chances before I will no longer return, but the tone in her voice and her final words as I left is why you are reading this.
