We were given four different menus, one regular, one drinks, one with daily specials, and another with other specials. Okay, a bit all over the place but I came here to eat the food, not eat their menus. Pizza for me and pasta for my lady, along with two drinks. The service was quick and the waiting time for the food was minimal. The pasta, Spaghetti Gamberi, was very delicate in flavour; prawns, zucchini, and olive oil. The pizza, a White based "Kogarah" was hands down amazing. Cooked in a wood fire oven on perfect dough. Topped with bacon, mushrooms, parmesan cheese and a drizzle of cream. It was just last week I was thinking why don't we have white sauced pizzas when we have a whole heap of white sauced pastas. The bill was around $50 - $60. The only issue was the extraordinary loud drilling being done next door at a construction site. Literally everyone seated stopped talking and looked over at the building site for the 20 second duration of the drilling. Only happened once, thank heavens.

We were served by Veronica and Antonella , smiles and friendliness were offered from the moment we stepped in. Chatty and happy all along , really stands out in this city where service has gone out the door a long time ago. The pizzas are authentic and my fettuccini Ragu was unbelievable! A must return for sure. Thank you girls .xx

I'm also guessing they call themselves 18 grams because each double shot of coffee is precisely 18 grams? You know if a place is confident with their coffee if they serve it unconventionally. What I mean here is styles you won't get at a standard cafe. For example, cold drip, siphon etc... This place has everything. They also know some cool finishing touches that gets people coming back for more. During launch they gave out free coffee - a full coffee card. Being the snobby me I declined the card (I actually didn't know what they were giving out to be honest ...). But when I went there the first time they gave me a loyalty card with the first row all stamped meaning my next coffee was on them! Awesomeness #1. I love cookies and every coffee has a cookie on it! Awesomeness #2 ... I was sold. And what's Awesomeness #3? Their coffee :)

So come early if you want to get a table. I know another regular who would come at 5:30pm for dinner so that he and his family would get a good table. They have extensive Ramen menu, they're packed with flavours and generous in size. If you feel like something simple, you can opt for a classic plain or tempura udon. They have sushi train for $3 a plate, bargain! Their bento has sides that I actually like. Each bento would have salads with home made dressing, salmon sashimi with home made wasabi, fried gyoza, seaweed salad, rice, miso soup and the choice of your bento meal. My favourite is the Beef Tongue, very tasty but some people might think it's a bit on the chewy side. There are so many more good things about this place. I tried so many things on their menu and never come across anything that I didn't like!

One of these is Manmaruya which has other restaurants in Campsie, Liverpool and Beverly Hills. They have such an extensive menu range from ramen to bento boxes, salads and sashimi to now a SUSHI TRAIN next door! The business is going so well that not only building a sushi train next door and connecting the two premises together, they have a Japanese BBQ at Beverly Hills now. Of course the ramen isn't on the same quality as Ippudo, Ryo and Hakata-Maru, it definitely one of the best in the area (especially compared to Ajisen!). The service is awesome and the waitstaff never says no and always willing to help. Seating is nice and cosy despite the small shopfront (hate the ones where you're elbow touching with the person next to you. ...) STRONGLY recommend the Salmon Lover (18 variations of salmon) and their Nanban Chicken. The sushi train is still fairly new and don't have much varieties as Oseki Sushi, but for those that aren't fussed, this is pretty much an all stop shop for Japanese! OH! This is also a local favourite for take aways!

A last minute google search led me to this place for dinner. I rang up at 6.30pm and asked for a…read moretable for 2 at 7.30pm but they said the earliest was 8pm. I hesitated a bit and said I would call back if I still wanted the reservation but they made me wait and told me 7.30pm was fine. I'm a bit confused why restaurants do that. My only explanation is that they are trying to space out the people to make it easier on the kitchen. Thoughts anyone? Anyway I didn't really know what to expect from this place as I'd never heard of it before but it seemed to have quite good reviews online. When we arrived the restaurant was full bar our table and the kitchen looked exceptionally busy. We waited about 5mins for our table to be ready and during those 5mins there was just an influx of customers coming for their pickup orders. From that point I thought I must've made a good decision for them to be that busy. We ordered the Paesana Special Pizza and Tortellini Arrabbiata to share. I was starving which made the wait seem longer but I think it was only 30mins before the pizza came out which was acceptable given how busy the place was. It would have been nice for the pasta to have come out at the same time rather than after we'd pretty much finished the pizza. I noticed on tables that weren't sharing it was a bit awkward with some people on the table receiving their food a far while ahead of others. In terms of the food I thought both the pizza and pasta were great. To be nit picky 3 slices of pizza had no prawns on it and 2 slices had double prawn on it. Think there should've been 8 prawns instead of 7 so each slice could have a prawn on it and I know it's probably because they are busy but if they could've ensured there was a prawn on each slice I think that would've been better. A prawn-less slice of pizza is no fun! The tortellini was surprisingly quite spicy but in a good way. If you can't handle your spice though you might want to get them to tone it down a bit. Atmosphere wise I think this place suits visiting in cooler weather as it has quite a cozy feeling to it. I'm not sure but it seemed like it would've been a house at some point converted into a restaurant. Overall I had an enjoyable evening and am happy to find another place to add to my list of places to revisit in future.

Heaps of people looked like regular loyal customers, known well to staff. We took a seat inside, ordering coffees whilst we perused the menu. Huge coffee with beautiful latte art and they use campos beans which is a popular choice for many cafe frequenters. We ordered the special which was toast with crispy bacon, scrambled eggs and tomato. This had a great flavour to it and we polished it off pretty fast. We also ordered the granola made by sonoma which was a lovely honey spiced flavour with heaps of yoghurt and fresh fruit: kiwi fruit, rockmelon, apricot, blueberries, watermelon and pineapple. Accompanied with a bit of milk. Plenty of appealing brunch options and lunch choices too - risotto looks amazing as a lunch choice. Some yummy looking scrolls and biscuits , we opted for the nutella cookie - like a melting moment but nutella inside! Divine! They serve Campos coffee there which is an absolute seller for me, by far my favourite coffee, so they automatically got a tick from me! The cafe had a nice, laid back atmosphere to it with a simple yet modern decor inside. There is also room to sit outside on a nice day if you please. Parking was very easy to find in a near by side street & it is a convenient location being on the corner of Rocky Point Road. We were quickly served by the lovely lady looking after the service side of the business. I ordered my usual large skim Cappucino with the Sonoma Muesli & Egg Omelette. The coffees were out on our table in no time & the food followed shortly after, about 15 minutes or so later. The Sonoma Muesli was lovely, the yogurt was nice & creamy but not to sweet & the Muesli was crunchy & golden. Much to my surprise, the yogurt & Muesli rested on a generous portion & variety of fresh fruit that complimented the dish so well. The egg omelette was brilliant as well, filled with ham, cheese, mushroom & tomato & a side of sourdough toast. One of the meals alone would have filled me up but the fact that I had to try two meant that I left completely satisfied! The only issue I think the cafe has to deal with is that it is located on Rocky Point Road that did get quite loud at times, however, if you go at a more appropriate time, I doubt that you will experience so many trucks. Besides that, the cafe is great value for money, the coffee is lovely, the food was delicious & generously portioned and the pricing was very affordable at around $15 - $20 a head for coffee & breakfast. We were in and out with full bellies within 45 minutes - I highly recommend checking this cafe out if you're in the area.
