Imperial Irrigation District - Utilities Near Me - Indio, California

Need to train their customer service reps in the La Quinta facility to know about the programs that imperial irrigation offers for the seniors. When you ask the administrative clerk at the window, how the programs works she can't explain if they're on an annual basis on a fiscal basis she acts like she's an expert when clearly she is not. Very rude and condescending. Then, when you ask to speak to a supervisor, they do not give out any last names because they say it's their policy. This is ridiculous. Finally she told me that the supervisors name was Maria, never received a call back. Somebody else told me that that the managers name was Will and that my account was noted for a call back. I have repeatedly called to request to speak with a supervisor which I have documented with dates and times, no less than 10 times, no call backs. Most unprofessional service that I've ever seen, clearly need to replace the staff and need to educate and do proper training. As Coachella Valley continues to grow a person's better off dealing with Southern California Edison than to deal with IID. These employees within the La Quinta location need to be either re-trained or terminated. There is no excuse for horrible customer service such as this. These employees need to receive training in Orange County or LA County to learn how to deal with Customer Service. I believe these employees are hired because they're related to someone within IID. These people have never left the valley and have not been trained by a real supervisor or manager, they are what you call sacred cows that NEED to be replaced. I have been in Human Resources for over 27 years and you can clearly see how these employees lack training. What a disservice for residential customers. read more

It would be zero stars if that were an option. I am an accountant and have multiple entities that have multiple accounts with Imperial Irrigation District. I wanted to use one login to attach multiple accounts, as I do for many other utility companies. This is something that is common for someone in an accounting position to do and is basic website functionality. I called customer service and after waiting on hold for more than 40 minutes, I gave up that a person would ever answer. I decided to use the online form to request the additional access. The response was "You will need to ensure to use a different email address for each registration if the accounts belong to different names and business partners." It went on to provide the useless customer service number if I had any questions. For a company that brags about being "the largest irrigation district in the Nation" the technology is pathetic. The customer service worse than pathetic. I guess the nice thing about being a utility company is that you can provide terrible customer service since your customers have no choice. I am confident if customers were given a choice, they would not choose Imperial Irrigation District. read more

I appreciate Sergio for his knowledgeable and very professional for what his doing. He gets back to me after he got the results of my final billing statement. Sergio accomplishes client's questions and answer. Hoping that Sergio will be again and future answer the phone when I need questions. If I could give a minus on the stars I would. There electric pole is right behind my property and the Carson box caught fire setting the pole on fire and causing all our electric to be shorted out along with our neighbors homes. This caused a few thousand dollars in damages....After filing a claim with photos and bills to be reimbursed they refused the claim in its entirety, no reason given. They give you 6 months to file a court action with a lawyer......real caring during Covid19 crisis when none of the government buildings are open. I guess they don't have to pay out because there is no other company to compete with. Well, there will be a court claim because I have nothing but time during quarantine. Would have been a lot cheaper to just pay for the damage you caused. The worst company survive ever. read more

My opinion is that Imperial Irrigation District (IID) trains their customer service employees to never return a call, even after telling the customer that they would do so. Further, do not submit a mail-in rebate request for a new AC unit. It will "get lost in the mail". I used the Imperial, Ca. address in their website. I sent a rebate request for a whole house AC unit late last September (2020). I wrote four monthly status requests (I have the dates) to IID requesting updates, each time I was told that I would get a returned call with the information. This week (mid-December) I actually talked to a live person who said that my written application was lost, and that I would have to resubmit it. But submitting it through their website gives me a message that "rebates are not available". What kind of legitimate business would do this to a 20 year customer? We are new homeowners and Apparently overlooked opening an account with CVWD. We came home on a Thursday and found our water had been cut off. We opened an account on line, but it appeared as though our application hadn't gotten through to them. Thank God we had a freezer full of ice cubes ready for a cold beverage and for our fur babies. On Friday we went to CCWD and cleared up our confusion. The gentleman at the window was so helpful and calmed our nerves. We are NEVER late with our bills. and the past due was taken off our account. If you ever want to know how it would feel to live without water after an earthquake, don't pay your water bill. read more

We are relatively new owners in Coachella Valley but our experiences with IID have been 100% positive. We have spoken with Jacqueline twice and she was polite and professional. She returned our calls timely and was always helpful. We took advantage of IID's weatherization program and were very pleased. Synergy Companies had been contracted to provide the service and sent out Jason and Martin to perform the work. Both were polite, professional and knowledgeable. read more

This company is robbing its customers they add on an additional 50$-70$ tax hike saying that we'll since the food taxes and gas taxes are goin up we gotta raise our taxes as well instead of keeping a low tax of about 0.04% they are charging around 1.24% in the matter of a month and have the audacity to say "well it's a varying tax and some months it'll be low and others it'll jus go up unfortunately " more like sky rocket and I'm doing so we the customers have to pay an additional 50$-70$ jus to use their service these ppl are crooks and they know since there are no other competitors to go to they basically have a monopoly of the power system business so will charge ridiculous prices on too of the customers already struggling to make ends meet there gonna kick us while we're down and add more instead of helping their customers out jus the immorality is disgusting low and jus plain sad hopefully another power company will open soon that will help the ppl cuz this greedy company is jus shameful! read more

If the option of no star were an option that is exactly what they would receive. The level of incompetence I've had to deal with in speaking with this company is horrendous! They tell you one thing only to have someone else contradict them entirely. The call agents are argumentative & shamelessly take personal stabs when dealing with business matters involving your family. We all know business & family do not mix, however I had one of their call service agents (Adriana) use her own mother as an example against mine voicing her opinion on the personal & infuriating issue I was already dealing with! There is undeniably more extensive training that is needed for these individuals to appropriately deal with their customers in a more professional mannerism. read more
