We purchased tile for three rooms in our new home from Imperial Floors, and had them perform the installation. The tile purchase experience was fine, and the staff very helpful. However, the company did not stand behind their installation work. Water from one of our showers would routinely leak out of the shower and on to the surrounding tile floor. Not being contractors, we assumed the issue had to do with the shower doors. We had our contractor out to review the situation, and discovered that when the tile was installed, the installer did not prepare the underlying surface correctly, and there was a high area in the middle of the shower that directed water to the outside of the shower, rather than to the drain. Imperial Floors refused to even look at the issue, stating we were outside of the warranty period. Clearly, this was an installation issue as was confirmed by our contractor. Our contractor was forced to remove the shower tile floor, and the underlying high spot, and have a different tile installer complete the installation. If Imperial Floors would have come to look at the issue it would have been clear, however the owner of Imperial Floors refused. This represents a complete lack of customer care. We would not use Imperial Floors again. read more

Another flawless experience with Imperial Floors! We have done business with Todd Crump at Imperial for around 20 years, and have had numerous floors installed in two different homes. Without exception, our experiences have been very positive. Zero complaints!! The installer we have come to trust implicitly, having watched him work through tricky situations (i.e.,uneven floors), is Allen. We will wait to start on a project until Allen is available because we know we are guaranteed a great outcome. In our latest project he worked with Jason, and the work was impeccable and finished well ahead of schedule. Two seasoned professionals on the job!!! We recommend Imperial Floors without reservation. We love our new wood floors! Purchase and installation was easy and perfect! We were greeted and asked what we had in mind. Imperial employee picked out several samples and explained the pro/cons of each. When we narrowed our selection down to three flooring types they sent us home with large samples to lay on our floor to compare and choose which one we liked best. The bathroom and laundry tile we picked was quite heavy and thick and we were not sure the floor could hold it. Imperial employee had us place a glass of water on the current floor and jump up and down to see if the water sloshed in the glass. It did not, so he came out to inspect the floor to make sure we had the proper support. We did and apparently the water glass trick indicates you probably have good support if the water does not move during vibration. They came and inspected anyway. The installers did a fabulous job and asked great questions. I love the reclaimed saw marks in the wood. I also like having wood and not a composite becauseI know that it will last. The installers gave a very slight gap under the trim for shrink/swell and we have had no buckling issues 2 years later. All of the trim work was done by another contractor that Imperial arranged for us as well as a plumber. The flooring by Imperial removed and replaced the cabinetry trim. The plumber was not very bright but the young apprentice with him was! The plumber said the flooring was too thick and the dishwasher would not fit back in. The young man pulled the dishwasher out and lowered the feet in the dishwasher and slid it in perfectly! The crews were clean and there was never any trash or material messes. read more

I am not terribly impressed by this company, unfortunately. Which is sad given I had two friends who are contractors say they do good work. Based on the contractors I know saying great things about this company, I went in with high expectations, and was extremely disappointed. I called them a few days ago for an estimate. I had to go pick my material before they would do one. Ok. I needed some repair to the floor, which I told John. He said not to worry, they did it all. Ha ha! So not the case. When I went in to pick my materials, I wasn't greeted by anyone, no one offered to help me find what I was looking for, nothing. Four different employees walked by me while I was there, and did nothing but stare at me, wondering why I was there. I made eye contact with every single one, giving them the opening to say something. Nope. So finally I had to ask for help, which wasn't anything special, let me tell you. The guy who "helped" and I use that term loosely, did nothing more than point out vinyl flooring, nothing about prices, just pick what you like. Well, there's a significant difference in what I like and what I can afford! So that's not helpful. John comes out for the estimate. I explain to him the issues with the floor and what repairs need done before we can put flooring material down. Now keep in mind, I told him these things on the phone, and he said they did everything. He literally stops me in the middle of talking to kindly say he didn't give a shit about the repairs because I needed a contractor for that, and to keep in mind they are a floor COVERING company only, and he stressed the word covering only! He took all the measurements and told me he would email me an estimate. His lovely estimate gave me a dollar figure only, no breakdown of the material cost, glue cost, labor cost, measurements, or anything to compare with other bids. It did tell me that I had to remove all of the old flooring myself, remove all appliances, and baseboards. They come in, slap the flooring down, and walk away. They don't even do finish work, like replacing baseboards or anything. I have to do all of that myself. So basically John lied to me over the phone when talking about the construction aspect, gave me very little information and wasn't helpful at all, bordering on condescending while he was in my home when he over-stressed that they are a floor covering company only, and then gave me nothing more than a dollar figure with instructions on doing half their job for them. Will I use them again? Not a chance! I should've walked out immediately after visiting the showroom and being stared at by four employees and not being greeted. That right there should've told me what kind of business this was. I wanted to like this business, and they failed me miserably. read more

I cant recall ever being so so impressed with a home improvement business like this one, and I have repeatedly gone back to them in the past 5+ years for all my flooring needs. Each time I return I am amazed that the service and prices have remained consistent, and contrary to most home improvement experiences, all of the staff are genuinely nice, helpful and courteous. This business is unwilling to stand behind its services. I purchased tile from Imperial and had them measure the amount of material I would need. I also purchased grout from them. When the job was finished I had a mountain of one kind of tile left over, plus an entire bag of grout. About a 33% screwup in estimation. Guess who has to eat this mistake? I do because I signed a contract indemnifying them of any mistakes in estimation. Now I have almost 700 pieces of one kind of tile that I cannot use, even though the estimate was clearly WAY off target. Although this would be easy to fix, instead I was told that I should have had my installer double check the inventory before starting. The absurdity of this statement was then topped by a suggestion to "do some other project with the tile" or try to sell it on craigslist. What a joke. Stay well clear of this place, every other tile and flooring showroom in town has the exact same stuff so there's really no need to take your chances at Imperial anyway. read more

John helped us select what was right for our budget and needs, never pressured us and made us feel comfortable with our large purchase. On the surface, they are not the cheapest store out there BUT I'd argue that you get what you pay for; John and his team were always on time, performed high quality work, and had excellent communication. I'll be clear, this is not a rating for their service but for our shopping experience there. My wife and I went looking for carpet for our stairs and upstairs hallway and vinyl for a couple small bathroom areas. It was our first time buying flooring in decades, so we had lots of questions. We were greeted kindly at the front desk but then referred to "Roger." There seemed to be some sort of joke going on among the staff as they referred us to him. In any case, Roger seemed to be sullen and uninterested in our needs and questions. He did not seek to learn our names or really engage with us. During the initial look at carpet samples he would point us to a rack then walk away a little distance. He was no help at all with consideration of colors or patterns. We'd have to call him back to get questions answered. When we asked about a vinyl we were pointed to a small rack with the same walk away. Since the bathroom areas are small we asked about remnants, at which point Roger led us to a large warehouse sort of area, waved toward the remnants and basically disappeared. We took a few samples home, just to see what they looked like in our areas, but we pretty much knew we would not be buying from Imperial. Their competitor down the street got our business. read more

We recently bought a home that needed all new carpeting. We wanted the best, and our realtor referred us to Imperial Floors. All went well, until our living room carpet was installed. Our living room is quite large, and no single-roll-width of carpet could cover it, so it required a seam to bring two large pieces of carpet together. Normally, this is not a problem. However, in this case, the two pieces of carpet were shaded differently, and they obviously didn't fit together as intended. The two pieces, essentially, were 2 different colors. Imperial Floors explained that a special process can usually remedy this, using the same permanent coloring the manufacturer uses. So, we let them try that solution first, however, in this case it did not work as desired. The problems we encountered in this situation, were compounded, by the fact that Royalty Carpet, the manufacturer, suddenly announced they were closing their factory forever, after 50 years of service. This made it impossible to solve the problem, using this manufacturer's carpet material. They were now closed forever. Fortunately, this is where Imperial Floors stepped in to make everything "Right." They went the extra mile, and found two samples from another manufacturer, that best matched the original type of carpet we had selected. Additionally, these two samples were from another manufacturer, who was willing to dye the new carpet to match our desired color = a color the new manufacturer didn't offer. On top of all that, Imperial Floors had them rush the carpet to us as quickly as possible, and they had one of their best installers, on call, so he could get it installed by 6pm last Friday! All of this was done for us at no additional charge. I highly recommend Imperial Floors, because they place a premium on doing the right thing, and making sure their customers are satisfied. We purchased marmoleum flooring from Imperial for a mid sized bathroom that we had measured ourselves. When we asked for an installer, they refused to provide names of the independent installers they recommend stating that they were all booked for weeks. When I pressed stating that I could wait, they refused and stated that recommendations are reserved for their customers. When I expressed my confusion, as I had just purchased flooring, she clarified that they reserve recommendations to customers who have Imperial measure the space themselves. They use independent contractors. I have a kitchen, a living room, a rec room and two bedrooms for which I am currently looking to replace the flooring. I had discussed several of the other floors with their staff. They lost that business because of that short sighted mentality. Customers do not come first. Imperial comes first. read more

My experience with Imperial Floors was 100% positive from the showroom selections, the estimate process, installation and attention to detail at every turn. They installed two rooms of carpet as well as vinyl in the master bathroom. The installer was experienced and knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure we were pleased with his work and the cleanup. Imperial doesn't move your furniture, but offered the service for a fee which we accepted. The products are superior quality to most carpet stores and the prices were a good value for what we got. John the estimator was very kind and friendly. Unfortunately carpet that was installed was damaged by a sharpie. I was offered a "patch" I refused. Wall paint was heavily damaged on every wall. Window disassembled to bring in carpet, not reassembled. Closet door was not properly reinstalled. John did come out to fix some of the issues but it was clear to see that his cousin the installer is unprofessional with finishing touches and impatient. read more

Lots of signs about being Covid-19 aware, but we walked out when an unmasked person walked right up to us - nowhere near six feet away - and began pulling samples. We got a call from the owner to discuss so they could get better. Their process wasn't perfect the day we were there, but I am absolutely convinced they will get it right very, very soon, just as I am convinced if there was a problem with our order they would do the right thing. I have used this company a few times as I have needed carpet service during my time living in Eugene. I always seem to find my way back. I recently needed carpet for a space that was not intended to be used and explained to them my situation. The carpet needed would not be needed for a long term use, but short term to help a person out to have a comfortable and safe place to stay while getting on their feet. The front desk employee was more than helpful and talked with the owner and before you knew it; they had helped me solve my problem for this situation. The owner was amazing. I had a very frustrating experience with this company. The quality of the installation was very poor, and the worker damaged my baseboards in one of the rooms. The management was very condescending when addressing my complaint, and was not interested in doing anything to rectify the situation. The price that i paid was relatively competitive, but when the poor installation is factored in, it was a bad deal. I chose this company over one of the big box chains because I wanted the accountability that is supposed to be associated with smaller family businesses. It's been just a year since I had Imperial install low-loop wool carpet in my living room and hall. Chose carpet specifically for good wear rating.Beautiful product. Installer described himself as "the best". When he finished, around most of one wall, and all around door threshold, were obvious tacks pulling carpet loop down. Very obvious and very bad looking. Also, obvious seams. Installer stated that it couldn't be helped because "the carpet is so thin and low". He also said there could have been fewer seams if I would have ordered carpet wider. How would I have know that???And if the seams were going to show noticeably,perhaps they might have explained that. I would have chosen another weave. Called my sales person, he looked at it, and then brought owner and the REAL best installer, who agreed that it was done wrong.He spent a few hours going around fixing it. Never will be 100% perfect. He said the seams would flatten down with wear. They have not. Asked for a 10% discount from owner, was not granted, because "they fixed it". Oh, and the first installer left filthy handprints all over my woodwork. Never Imperial!!! read more
