We have used these cleaners for a couple of years and had great same day service! Mgmt/ownership has recently changed and changed for the worse. My husband took in 7 dress shirts and was told it would take 3 days. Disappointed since no longer same day but whatever. At pick up, my husband literally had to tell them which shirts were his. They only had half the shirts ready. At next day pick up, they had lost one of his shirts. In order to get reimbursed he would have to produce a receipt. REALLY?! WTF?! If you want untimely service of your dry cleaning? If you want your dry cleaning lost? If you want poor customer service? Then this is your dry cleaners!!!!! read more

This is my regular dry cleaner. I've brought in suits, curtains, blankets and mattress pads. They do laundering in addition to dry cleaning. The only time I've not had something ready when it would be is when I brought in an old cream colored sweater with a stain of unknown origin on it. It could've been oxidized sugar or battery acid - who knows? They told me the person wanted to try a few more things on it. And you know what? When I got it back the stain was barely noticeable. Some places try so hard to get out a stain they ruin the fabric. Imperial Cleaners doesn't. When I moved to Clintonville, I needed new furniture and the woman at FrontRoom Furnishings said she always brought her things to Imperial Cleaners. She didn't steer me wrong with the furniture and she didn't steer me wrong with her dry cleaner recommendation. read more

I turned in a coat and paid $15 for it to be dry cleaned. After looking at the coat it looked the exact same as when I dropped it off! Took my wife's dress to Barts after a terrible experience at Imperial cleaners. It was for our sons wedding and had a tiny spot on the dress which we wanted to remove. Imperial cleaned the dress and returned it with five NEW spots and a sticker attached to the dress saying they can't clean it any better. Management from Imperial has still not called us back and Imperial is just a front to drop off clothing. It is cleaned another place. My wife was in tears because the wedding is a week and a half away. We took it to Barts which actually cleans on site and they were very understanding and got it back to us in 36 hours and had completely removed the stains that Imperial caused and said they couldn't remove. We will no longer go to Imperial and are now a lifelong customer of Barts Cleaners. Thank you so much Barts! read more

dropped off 2shirts and 1 pair of pants on friday and was told to pick up on wednesday. Not there on wednesday , told to come back thursday. not there again . Found out they ship all laundry to a cleaners on Henderson road. they dont do any laundry there and havent for several years. The counter person couldnt care less. So used to products being late they dont even care.Drove to henderson road and was told there was a spot that required another day. No spot, they just had not done them. My uniform shirts that i had to have to work. will never go here again. Will find a cleaners that does their own work on site. read more

I am a first year medical student, and we are expected to go into clinics and evaluations with a sparkling white coat. Of course, I had already gotten mine dirty by week 6 of this semester (dust, dirt, or maybe pen ink from taking notes twenty hours a day?). Anyway, after my debacle with Clintonville Coin (see that review), I was most definitely not going to trust them with my white coat. I decided to give Imperial a try. I am so happy that I did! I just picked up the coat today, and it looks brand new!! Some details: --Two or three parking spots on the south side of the building, so you can run in and out without having to negotiate a street spot --Cash or check only --They ask your significant other's name and put it on the account, so they can pick up your stuff as well. I have been going to Imperial Cleaners for over 2 years and have always had a wonderful experience. Recently, one of my shirts came back with a bit of damage to one of the cuffs due to one of their machines. I went in and talked to the owner (Mr. Simmons), and he graciously reimbursed me the cost of replacing the shirt, and gave me a few pieces of advice for shirt care. In addition to being a great business with whom I've never had issues, Imperial Cleaners has shown there commitment to taking care of their customers and ensuring that customers feel cared for. Imperial is no longer Imperial. Was regular customer for 30 years. Earlier this year or late last year, the long-time owner retired and sold the business to "someone" - I was told Dale Cleaners. No longer did they do shirts or cleaning inhouse - which meant several days rather than same day or next day service. All remained much the same for a while, except for the longer turnaround. One reason I went to Imperial was it was one of a few cleaners in Columbus who charged the same price to launder women's shirts as men's shirts. Suddenly, a few weeks ago, I picked up my cleaning, paid for it, didn't examine the tags on each bag. When I got home, I saw that I was charged $5.49 for most of my women's shirts rather than $1.99. Not blouses, but shirts. Which I have paid $1.99 or less for years and years. The exact same shirts that I have been taking there even under the new ownership and been charged $1.99. In fact, even the order I picked up had no rhyme or reason - some shirts were $1.99 and others exactly the same were charged $5.49. No signage explaining that they were changing their pricing. No one mentioning the change upon drop off. When I called and then went in to discuss/complain, I was told I would need to come back to talk to Naddir ("person in charge") who was the intake person who arbitrarily decided which of my shirts he would call "blouses" and charge $3.50 more per shirt. I asked that she have Naddir call me to discuss. He never returned my call. By the way, the new receipts say "Starlite Cleaners." So I do not know who is actually the owner of the former Imperial cleaners - Dale? Starlite? somebody else? Avoid this place at all costs. (Pun intended.) read more

I've been going here for more than 25 years and am shocked to read negative reviews. I have never had anything but great service and good cleaning on everything from bedspreads table cloths to dress slacks dresses sweaters. Often they have gotten out stains I thought were permanent. I got a poor press job once and when I pointed it out they corrected it. once they lost pair of slacks, paid me for them and later found them! I find counter staff very well trained. This place is out of my way for the last 20 years (although I don't live in Federal Way, WA! - don't know where yelp got that) and i still wouldn't go anywhere else read more

This place is awful. I took my wedding dress there and they ruined it. My husband picked it up and they didn't even mention the fact that all the (fake) pearls had melted off. He didn't notice of course so when he got home, I looked at it and was enraged. When I went back there to ask for an explanation, no one apologized or offered a refund. They simply asked, "was it new?" WHAT?! It's my wedding dress. Doesn't matter if it's new or old. My mother made it actually so thanks for ruining weeks of her hard work. Terrible!!! First of all its too expensive for the service one receives. The people are friendly but the quality you receive is terrible. Started going here because they have a same day service that many dry cleaners don't offer. If you have typical clothes you need serviced they get the job done but I dropped off a beaded shirt over a month ago and they have yet to return it. Said they would call and didn't. I went to check on my shirt there was black scum all over it and when my fiancé dropped it off it was brand new I only wore it once and it was perfect. The beading was destroyed and the black scum pissed me off. I am done with this place, try Clintonville Coin Laundry on high street they are way better! Cheaper and way better service. read more

The employees of this establishment have never been friendly or particularly helpful, but I have been a patron none-the-less over the years. Most recently they lost two articles of clothing. These articles were costly and were favorite pieces. I was told that the manager would contact me, they did not, and when I called to follow up I got the impression that they were screening my calls. I can't confirm that this is true, but I had tremendous luck when I used another phone moments after several unsuccessful calls. They did recover my clothes after about three weeks after I had dropped them off. They were evidently sent home with another customer who returned them (thank you, kind person!). The whole experience was incredibly frustrating and to top it all off, when I picked my clothes up they charged me the cleaning fee like business as usual. I didn't even attempt to argue the point because as of this review, I've washed my hands of this miserable place permanently. read more

In my last year or two of college when I had tired a bit of the campus scene I moved north a few blocks to stay close, but not too close. Imperial Cleaners was right down the street and quickly became the standard by which I judge all other dry cleaners. For several years after I moved out the CampusVille neighborhood I would continue to drive here for my dry cleaning needs. Shirts are cheaper here than I have found anywhere else, under $2. next day service is no problem and the personal service was always top notch. One small downside... no A.C. and in the summer it is HOT in here. I have no idea how those ladies can be so nice when they work in 90% + heat all day. read more

I went here once the week of the 13th of September 2015, and I won't go back. They staff was friendly, parking wasn't too hard but the result of my dry cleaning was mixed. They did a great job on pressing my suit, but all of my shirts had crumple marks on the shoulders and one of my shirts even had a scorch mark on the cuff. Luckily these things can be fixed, but it's annoying because I now have to find the time to fix it and wear something the next day that wasn't wrinkled by them. read more

Needed my Uggs cleaned they do this or at least offer the service. It takes two weeks because they send them out. I got mine back in 16 days really not that bad at all. It cost about 38$ fine not a big deal like said need them cleaned. However when getting them back they looked a little off. These shoes were practically brand new had them for like 2 months. They stapled a tag threw them so now they have holes on one side. Then they are absolutely shrunk I have gave them a size 8 and it feels like 7. What was once a smooth looking boot is now crumpled and wrinkled. DO NOT WASTE THE MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT RUINS A EXPENSIVE ITEM. Not returning. read more

Don't even waste your time. If you live close don't go here just for convenience, you'll regret it. They used to do a good job. Staff always unfriendly for starters then get this.. Went in a few weeks ago to have two suits done they told me 3 days - pickup Thursday at 11am, bit of a wait but fine. Go in Thursday at 6pm, not done and find out they no longer do the dry cleaning in-house! They sold the place to Dale Cleaners end of 2018 and send all clothes to their locations for cleaning this why cleaning is taking and extra day or two, BUT there is no signs posted and verbal notice of this AT ALL. They tell me it'll be ready first thing Friday morning, go in at 3pm and still not there but it was on the delivery van on the way. I obviously was not happy after two times trying to pick up my clothes and when I asked for a discount they refused and when I refused to pay they then refused to give me my suits! I almost had to call the police to file a complaint to get my clothes back. Don't give these A-holes of Dales your business. read more

I even left my sunglasses there one time and the next time I went in the woman brought the glasses to me and asked if they were mine (they do not really know me, so she must have noted it in the computer) and returned them to me! Very bad experience here. I called and asked them how much dry cleaning cost. They quoted me a cheap rate. I followed up, specifically asking them if the rate was for laundering or dry-cleaning. The representative explicitly said "dry cleaning." Then, I get there, and the same woman quotes me an exorbitant rate. The classic bait-and-switch technique. I don't protest because I have to go out of town and absolutely need them to dry clean the shirts. But on the inside I was fuming. As a way of mitigating my indignation, I promised myself that I would write a really negative review of their business online. And it bears emphasis that my "dry-cleaned" shirts smelled like pure cigarette smoke. They did not smell clean AT ALL. What a disgrace. I generally always had a positive experience at this cleaners in the year+ I had been going there; that is, until I took an item in for repair in December 2018. I took the item in on 12/12/18 and it was to be picked up on 12/21. I was also supposed to be contacted prior to the repair. Needless to say, I never got a call and went back on 12/21 to find my item not at the store. The employee attempted to locate it and told me to come back in a week, rather than a certain date. I returned to the store several times after 12/21 with the same result. I generally dealt with the same employee, Naddir. Each time I went to the store, he made phone calls to locate the item but was unsuccessful. Eventually, he informed me around 1/2/19, when the item wasn't at the store but apparently should have been, that he believed it was lost. He gave me the name and number for an individual ("Mike Williams") who would be contacting me soon about replacing the item, etc. That individual never called; however, "Mary" contacted me on 1/14/19 (a month after the item was taken in). In her message she indicated that they located my item, that they had made "a mistake" and placed it in the "damaged line" rather than "alterations," and that it "kind of got stuck there." She admitted "the clerk" (I assume Naddir) made no mistake, but that she/"we" gave him the wrong information that it had previously "been sent out," which she said was "in error." She informed me she would have it sent to "the repair place," where it would be completed hopefully by Thursday 1/17/19, and for me to call back with "any questions or concerns." On Wednesday 1/16/19, Mary called back and left me a message, in which she said the repairs would be $12.00 and "nobody's been getting back to us so we're not sure whether we should continue with repair or not." First, I was surprised when she indicated that I hadn't called her back. She had only called one time (1/14/19) in the month+ that they had misplaced my item and when she called on 1/14 she stated to call back with "questions or concerns." I definitely had concerns, but not relevant to repairing my item. Secondly, the cost being secondary, I was more surprised that they weren't willing to eat the cost of repairing my item considering the month that they had--in their own words--made a mistake and misplaced it. I got her message after closing hours, so I called back the following morning. Needless to say, Mary was not helpful or understanding. She demanded that I pay the $12.00 for repair and insisted that they had called me a long time ago (never received a message until 1/14/19). When I told her that she either had called the wrong number (which is surprising because my phone number was listed on my account and the receipt attached to my item when I picked it up) or was lying about calling, she quickly backed down and said it was probably a wrong number. I told her that if Imperial was going to charge me to repair the item--an item that I truthfully told her I needed for work and had been without for a month--then she should have the item returned to the store, where I would pick it up. She informed me that she was not willing to repair the item at a loss, and that Imperial was "about to go bankrupt anyway." As you can imagine, I was shocked when she said this. I picked up my item and will not return. I live in the same general neighborhood of the store (literally within walking distance) and was a regular customer for the year+ prior to this incident. I would still be a customer if it wasn't for the lack of professionalism and courtesy I was shown after Imperial misplaced my item. read more
