We reserved one of the firepits. All the food we ordered was surprisingly better than expected, it's not ice rink food but more like hotel food! It's a super cute date idea. I will say the rink is quite small and it's superrrr crowded, even on a Thursday. Tip: A lot of folks said their skates were uncomfortable. I definitely recommend sizing a half size up. Mine had something hard sticking out inside, and I told them and they fixed it right away so seems like it a regular problem. If something is bothering you, definitely let them know or change out your skates.

It's very popular among the kids in the area, especially by those with scooters. There are skate areas/equipment for all skill levels (small half pipes, flat banks, flat rails, concrete bowls, etc.), ample bright lighting, and seating (picnic tables). The last Friday of every month, the park hosts a, "Late Nite-Skate Nite"; this past Friday, for example, the event was with a DJ and food (hamburgers, hot dogs, and chips) as well as beverages (water and soda) with paid admission of $10. There were also competitions (e.g. best tricks) for which the park had prizes for. Thank you Boys & Girls Clubs for such an awesome program in the community!

My son especially loves the little roller-coaster swing! Unfortunately, the seated roller-coaster swing has been locked and unusable the last few times we've visited. The sun sails and shaded grass are great, but I wish there were more shaded parent seating and trash cans near the playground. The bathrooms are also about 100 yards away at the rec center. Overall, it's become one of our favorite morning routines- play at the park, then head to the Imperial Beach Library afterward to cool down in the AC and read some books!

They get their playground fix and I get my fresh air and the park is just down the street from where I live. I also get to see beautiful sun setting skies. Equipments are safe, both at the older age kids area and toddler. Roomy, clean and "cushioned" ground. Safe. Side note: if you're not paying attention to your child, he/she can get "hit" by the zip line that's moving through. I had witnessed a 4yr old hit by one. He wasn't paying attention as he ran across...nor were his parents. I don't like the older kids (teenagers) and adults utilizing the playground equipment (aka hoggers) and play space. I see adults sitting on equipment hangout out while "watching" their child(ren) and I've seen others using the equipment (ie swings, zip line, see-saw, twirling chairs, etc). It ridiculous and there are metal signs posted indicating 12 years and older on playground equipment are not allowed. There are cemented seats that surround the play area and there are benches too. Not sure why adults are using the equipment as seats. Bring your own folding chair if you need to sit down. The entire park still needs work done. The grass area that's used by AYSO soccer teams, the parking lot being too small and this is just to name a few obvious items. I guess it's work in progress. Recommend playground

It's a super fun park thats always changing because of the dedication the builders put into the place. Truly run by skaters, Washington Street is a place I would recommend for anyone even if you just want to watch great skaters (theres a few pros from time to time). The fact that you don't have to pay, wear any pads/helmet, and can park right next to the park are all awesome things about this park I would definitely recommend. The fact that its on Washington Street UNDER Pacific Highway is even cooler (plus it allows for skating in the rain). The real kicker for me is the fact the Lucho Libre is only a few steps away and you can grab an awesome burrito after you've fallen 5 more times than you planned to. Seriously the craziest, most fun park I've skate in Southern California.

Parking isn't bad and across the street there is plenty of eateries if you want to have a picnic and not pack. The bathrooms were surprisingly pretty clean and had hand soap! Nevertheless, this spot can be fun for what it is. Thankfully, each object is relatively small so it's fitting to the size of the concrete slab that it's on. My two major complaints are that there is little to no runway for the ledges/rail/stairs so you literally have to set your board at the edge of the concrete, get a running start from the grass and hope for the best. The other is that there is no bank on the opposite side of the park so once you complete your trick, you have to jump off your board and walk back. It's worth checking out if you have some time to kill, but don't go out of your way for it.

In the middle, more of a street section with ledges, and toward the back, a steep wall. The concrete seemed really smooth, and there didn't seem to be any problems with cracks or parts that didn't fit. I didn't see the rules, but I only saw one scooter rider and no inline skaters. There were many skateboard riders and they were making use of everything. Usually, I see rules that keep out one of the four at different parks. There didn't seem to be lights, but I was told not to be there after dark anyway.
