Owner Eric sends out a crew and does not oversee the work or follow-up after project is finished. I have an entire backyard that was dug up for 100% landscaping. In the contract it states "Removal of Grass". Grass was raked, not dug up, not removed, and wasn't sprayed to kill the grass. Now the entire backyard has grass growing up through ALL of the landscaping. Don't waste your time with this business. You'll get excuses and customer-blaming and condescending responses from the owner. read more

Great work by Erik and his team. We asked Erik out to do a design on the front landscaping, sprinkler system and sod replacement. He worked with us to make sure the design met with our approval and then started on the work as promised. The members of his team including Regin and Oscar were on top of everything and easy to work with. We had some concern about the way the stone border was working out and they discussed it and came up with the perfect solution. New sprinkler system looks like it's going remove my yearly repair work and probably save me days of playing in the mud. The guys were good natured, respectful of the property and worked with us continually to make sure the results were top notch. We've already received multiple compliments from the neighbors in just 1 day! If you need top notch work these are the right guys. read more

This is another one of those hard reviews, because some of the work (and the part I wasn't thrilled with) was done by a subcontractor. Since I have the name of the sprinkler contractor, I'll do that review separately. As well, Erik got the sprinkler guys out to fix one of the things I reported, but the rest of the stuff I dealt with myself. The design and bid process: We had a medium job to be done. Erik was really fast with responding and getting a bid out. His designs are good. He listens to what you want, asks questions, and then creates something. I never would have thought to do what he designed; it looks far better than anything I would have come up with myself and it serves all the functions we needed. We've had lots of compliments on the design and the end result. The work: With the exception of the sprinkler part (see my review on the sprinkler company) the work was done well. The Impact workers were courteous. One morning, they began jack-hammering at 7:15 a.m. and I had to ask them to wait until 8 a.m. (CC&Rs combined with a grouchy neighbor...not a good combo at 7 a.m.) They politely nodded and found other work to do until 8. On another day their work slightly went into my neighbor's side of the property line. When I pointed it out, they fixed it immediately. The guys didn't leave trash around and were good at picking up the debris. I combed the backyard a few times for stray metal or nails and found only two. Erik was on site most days for a good length of time and kept good communication with questions. The results: (Again, I'm leaving out my bad experience with the sprinklers.) Everything that Impact did directly was done well. We've had everything in for a while now. Nothing's died, broken, etc. We're very happy with the work. So...long story short...in case you skipped to the end...I'd do business again with Impact. No question about it. I wouldn't do business with their sprinkler guy again. read more

Erik was very nice and professional I had bought a new home with nothing but grass and weeds in the backyard I had a pool put in so when all that was done Eric came and gave me a quote on all the landscaping replacing sod putting gravel in putting mulch and plants everything and it was late fall so we decided to wait until spring but he was willing to do just the mulch and grass they did a beautiful job they added rock around my trees in the front yard the backyard crushed granite on the side of my house gave me new sod they did a great job I just love it I'm not even sure if I want to put in bushes it looks so good. A distinct lack of professional communication is what you can expect from Impact Landscapes. Erik adjusted our bi-weekly mowing schedule to every week (in the dead of summer with little rain) to weekly without contacting us or confirming a change after we requested his crews to not arrive at 8 AM on our days off. The crews have been a mixed bag too, they'll now and edge but there have been weird instances where a crew will half finish the job on one day only to piecemeal the rest of it the next. Find someone else to do your lawn work, the hassle here isn't worth it. read more

I had Erik extend existing stonework to add additional flower bed/shrub planting areas in my front yard. Since this was adding to existing stone work and I had obtained a prior written estimate the crew that showed up should have known what work to perform. Instead they showed up confused as to what work was to be performed, and with incorrect material and had to go back to get correct material. Installed material incorrectly and had to remove and start over. Final product is poor quality, both in aesthetics and strength. Already have cracks and stones loose. Drip irrigation tubing was embedded in the concrete work, this was above ground tubing so was immediately obvious. Erik had poor communication both with his crew and myself, and it does not look like he even bothered to inspect the work after it was complete, even after his crew had to remove and redo the work. Not impressed with the final product and would not recommend him nor would I use him again. read more

I wouldn't recommend the mowing services. half job done and billed me 3 month later. Billing sucks.

Our lawn has been the shabbiest on the block since I've hired them for mowing and maintenance and weeding. Today I had to fire them because I was home when their crew arrived. I witnessed them in the back yard use the leaf blower to blow the clippings from the grass into the pool instead of bagging and taking them away. I went into the front yard because the flower beds had not been weeded to ask the worker about it. I asked him to kindly get the six inch tall weeds and he got the weed whacker and that was that. I called and cancelled. Now looking for someone else. read more

Impact Landscapes just completed a lot of work in my backyard, including a new stamped concrete patio, arbor, sod and rebuilding my rotted chimney. Everything looks beautiful, and I couldn't be happier. Erik is extremely responsive and easy to work with, and I appreciated his help in figuring out how to improve my backyard. We just wrapped up a project using Impact Landscapes at our home -- and we will never use them again. For one thing, we never were able to ascertain exactly what we were being charged for shrubs; we were repeatedly quoted a "plant package" with a total price (which worked out to about $60 per 3-gallon shrub -- about 40% higher than retail). For another, Erik was almost never around, and his crew was left to do the work as best they could (which wasn't that good). Erik's workers stepped on and damaged several bushes (which they didn't replace), cut an irrigation line (which we had to have our own irrigation firm repair), and generally took a quick-and-dirty approach to the whole job. I WOULD NOT Recommend. I just needed leaves cleaned up! I'm really disappointed with how this transaction has gone. They offered a special on Angie's List for $199 for four hours of yard work. I had some leaves that we had raked up and needed to be bagged. Come to find out, "they start the clock" 30 min before they arrive and budget 30 min to get back to the shop, so I'm only getting 3 hours of work on the property. I saw they had high reviews before, all be it, only a couple, so i still thought it would be a good deal as they would get done what we needed. Unfortunately, they didn't start actually working till 20 after they got here and started to clean up 20 min before their time was up. The job was left unfinished, and in the contract, they were responsible for one truck of haul off, and when i asked the gentlemen who came out to perform the service, I was informed that they were not going to haul off the few limbs that we had. I guess that is what we get for trying to get a deal and not go with someone we know and trust. read more

We are near completion on a patio cover done by Impact Landscape. Erik came out and listened to what we wanted. We had two other quotes for the job, one higher and one lower. My husband chose this one. First of all, every single part of the project was subcontracted to a different company. Erik never once came to check on the progress, or even call to ask how it was going. He never furnished a drawing, in spite if being asked for one, so we had no idea what it would even look like. I asked before they started work if they were going to dig the pier holes in our landscaping around the patio. If so, if he could show us where, we could dig up any plants that would be in the way. He assurred us that the holes would be in the concrete patio and not in the landscaping. Of course, that was a lie. They dug four holes in the landscaping and pulled out two plants which they just tossed aside. After they poured the concrete they refilled the holes with dirt, in the process filling the trench that went around the bed and burying the white rock, leaving a mudhole that still hasn't dried up. My husband asked for a copy of the HOA approval for the project, which Erik was supposed to get. We finally got it today, dated yesterday. The project was started without HOA approval in hand. The next sub did the staining. Then we waited for the gutter install guys, who didn't show up and didn't call and finally showed up this morning. Last is the electrical guy, who is supposed to come today. And the finished product? Plain and boring and certainly not $6,000 worth. And I had a roofer tell me that the pitch of the roof is not correct for the roofing material they used and to expect leaks. Erik said he has never had a problem, but I wouldn't believe anything he says at this point. The guy apparently just doesn't care about anything but the sale. There is no oversight on his part and the subs just come and go at will. We are now about two weeks into a project we were told by Erik would take three days. Oh, and he backpedals a lot when you bring these things to his attention. This is the worst experience we've had with one of our jobs. And it would even be worth it if the patio cover was gorgeous. It isn't. It's just a plain Jane wood patio cover which was overpriced by about half. read more

I had Impact replace my fence and deck in Nov. 2013. I will never use Impact again and don't recommend them for fence and deck work. His crew repeatedly tried to cut corners and the only reason I got what I wanted was because I work from home and was able to monitor the work. Some of the crap I had to make them fix: 1) the first attempt at the gates looked like something a 14 year old did, absolutely horrible; 2) they put too much cement in the fence post anchors resulting in very visible cement that couldn't be covered by dirt or grass; 3) they had no idea how to cut an exact circle cutout in the deck for the tree, I had to do it myself; 4) the foundation of the deck was put too close to the tree. I mentioned this and Eric told me it was fine for any near term tree growth. Last year my deck around the tree starting rising from tree growth because the deck's foundation is too close to the tree; 5) The fence wasn't even two years old when one of the gates started rubbing on the bottom because Impact allowed too lilttle clearance for sag and this gate gets used once or twice a week, if that; 6) the company Impact hired to stain the fence and deck completely botched the deck staining. The stuff was just goop that did not ever completely dry. Fortunately I was able to get the company to remove and replace the deck stain but what ever they put down is crap - the new stain is not quiet 2 years old and it looks like it has a disease, all spotted and blotchy. 7) At one point I asked Eric to make a minor change to the fence and his response was "I'm not doing that". I got him to do it, took five minutes, but his lack of courtesy was very unprofessional. 8) We also did the beginings of an arbor, with two posts and a 6"x8"cross piece with a miter but the crew had no idea how to use their belt sanders to accurately flatten the miter - I had to do it myself. And I could go on. Don't use these amateurs. read more
