She thoughtfully considered the dynamics of each area, including amount of sun, drainage, accessibility, and desired level of upkeep. She inspected our soil and mulch levels, and recommended adding organic compost to most areas. This was highly beneficial, and we've noticed plants thriving in areas where they previously died off in a month. One of the most fun and rewarding results from the project has been harvesting vegetables and herbs from our "salsa garden". The pepper plants have produced over 4 lbs! In addition to the functionality of the landscaping, the beds look beautiful with the combination of foliage that Jennifer suggested.

Called several contractors and Clayton was by far the most honest, optimistic and committed to the scope of work required. Because there was an obvious "unknown" as to the scope of work the quote was provided in tiers that identified clear thresholds that "if" we have to do this "then" we're into this tier of expense. To my absolute amazement, he did NOT make it to the top tier. That's honesty right there! The quote itself was extremely detailed and allowed us to clearly understand the work, the expense and provided the opportunity to adjust as necessary. Clayton shared he was in the United State Marine Corps which explains the detail provided, honesty and absolutely NO nonsense approach with his crew and/or contractors. Thank you for your service Clayton! During the work Clayton stayed in constant contact keep me informed as what the plans were for the following days, who should be accessing the back yard to work on the project and when the rains came (and the rains did come) he identified in advance when the crew would not be present. Bottom line, 100% satisfaction with MRZ Contracting. Look at the reviews here in Yelp...5 stars for more than a couple dozen reviews and for a contractor never-the-less. That surely puts MRZ Contracting in elite company in the real work and when considering them for your work I would strong recommend you at least obtain a quote from them and let the chips fall where they may after that.

Frankly, I am quite surprised to read all the fabulous reviews about this company. I am starting to…read morethink that they are all written by the owner himself or some of his family members. On three occasions, we made appointments with Eugene, the owner of the company, and all three times he stood us up. I get it, the guy is so "GOOD" that everyone is hiring him and he has no time for new projects. We live in Denton. The third time we made the appointment, I asked him if he was interested in our project or should we look for someone else. When I finally heard back from him, he asked us to give him another chance and assured us that he was going to honor his word. After three times of waiting for him to show and he never called to reschedule or explain himself, we decided to move on. Lesson learned! You cannot always trust the reviews and comments people are leaving. Because what is too good to be true... is NOT true. In retrospect, I am glad that it happened at this point rather than after he started the work and leaving us hanging.

The concrete patio they installed looks incredible. We love the space it created for our kids to play and for us to enjoy. It's so nice to have a space outdoors where we can entertain and be proud of how it looks. During the patio process, they let us bring our own drawings and ideas to the table, and guided us according to the best practices they know so well. They went over and above, allowing us to add some additional space and came back to add sod in some places where the yard grade had changed and drainage needed to be adjusted. Both at no extra cost.
