Once doors open, they get everyone in and to their seats quickly. I'm impressed by how clean everything is from the seats to the bathrooms. All of the employees are very courteous and knowledgeable. When we first arrived, upon checking our tickets, our tickets wouldn't scan/verify. The usher was getting frustrated with us for this, and made us go to the ticket booth to get our physical tickets. We showed the person the tickets on our phone, and she printed them out for us -- after several rounds of confusion on her part. She was so soft spoken (in a noisy theatre entrance) that it led to much confusion. After this, we had to "cut" back into the entrance line (the security guard was helpful here) and we got thru the gates, finally. Then this usher/ticket checker who scanned our tickets (the 2nd time) was literally yelling at us on which direction to go (not a yelling as in being loud, but yelling like we were stupid). I go the way he yells at me because he won't stop yelling at me to go the direction he points me in -- which is the wrong direction. We had orchestra seats and were headed there, but this usher/ticket checker was yelling at us to go up the stairs. Fine, maybe I'm wrong. We get upstairs, and the 2nd usher again points us in the wrong direction to go further upstairs. This is again incorrect. We are flustered and confused, and not sure what is going on. We finally reach the 3rd usher at the top of the stairs, and he finally points us in the correct direction. The ushers here (Sans the 3rd one) were incompetent and rude.

One of the founding members is David Schwimmer. You can't beat the location and if you are planning a night on the town or better yet a weekend, you should plan on hitting up one of their shows. It is a small theatre which results in, not a bad seat anywhere in the house. The current show is Mary Shelley's Frankenstein Forget Boris Karloff and the many retellings of the story as you have seen the countless movies and television versions. This is a very faithful tale, true to the book and a very stimulating thought provoking version. The ideas of creation from death is handled with great care by the excellent ensemble cast. Shelly's book is the result of a weekend with friends , where each participant was challenged to tell a chilling ghost story. Mary's story found its roots in the practice of grave robbing and selling cadavers for medical research. Her chilling take follows the creator Victor Frankenstein on his quest to cheat death by recreating the spark of life. The cast all play dual roles, the original guests at the party and the major characters in the story. Walter Biggs is challenged with the dual roles of Mary's husband Percy Shelley and the creator Victor Frankenstein. His faithful quest for creation, with every intention for good comes to a sad realization that some things are better off left to the ultimate Creator. Cordelia Dewdney leads us on this journey playing Mary Shelley ,Victor's doomed wife and Victor's vision of the mate he plans to create for his man brought back to life. I don't want to say monster, because by the end of the play you will not see him that way. Keith D. Gallagher plays Lord Byron and the Creation with an amazing range of emotions that will leave you rethinking how we view Shelley's work. You will feel sympathetic towards this man that did not ask to be created and in the end wanted only family, caring and love. The staging is unique and the scenes are memorable, especially Victor's vision of both of his potential creations. Dewdney and Gallagher are electric in their creation scenes, grace and beauty exemplifying the visions of Frankenstein's goal in creation. The play runs through August and is highly recommended. The actual address for the theatre is on Southport, however they use the Water Tower Facility for many of their productions.

It was interesting to learn about him and the creative choices he made for his house and studio. I think his style definitely had an influence on the Chicagoland area, so the history is fascinating. The tour guide was great!! We were in the area doing the Ernest Hemingway house tour, and decided why not make a day out of it and do this tour too. It was very close and we were able to walk here from Hemingway's house. This tour is also an hour long guided walking tour through his house and studio, which is attached ($20 for adults). We purchased tickets there inside the gift shop located behind the house. There were two women working behind the counter, and idk if it was just my bf and I, but one of them scoffed when my bf tried to pay cash instead of just calmly letting us know it's card only. I also don't know why it takes two people to sign customers up for a tour--just kind of an odd experience lol. Anyway, there was no space for the next tour so we had to wait an hour, which was fine. We walked around the neighborhood and looked at the various other Frank Lloyd Wright style homes.

The day before we booked 10:20am tickets as that was the first option available. Make sure you do so beforehand so that you are guaranteed a spot! We booked for a Monday so unsure how crowded or sold out it might be on a weekend. Our tour started around 10:30 and I just want to note that the tour at times felt a bit rushed inside and not organized. We had Ron as our tour guide who is very knowledgeable and you can tell is very passionate, however I felt like he was a little bit aggressive and slightly borderline rude at times with his commentary. It was subtle, but enough to raise our eyebrows a few times when looking at each other. Besides that though, we enjoyed the tour and it was great to truly see the space where Frank Lloyd Wright spent much of his time. Afterwards, we had already paid for the self-walking tour that provides you with a listening device to walk through the neighborhood and check out other homes that he designed. We really enjoyed that separate piece of the tour since it was a beautiful sunny day out and we could move at our own pace and comment amongst our friend group without feeling rushed. There's only two bathrooms in the gift shop that sometimes have a line outside when different tours come in and out, so just something to note. They have a nice little gift shop with interesting and unique things to purchase. I'd recommend this to all Frank Lloyd Wright fans for sure! I'd imagine your tour experience varies depending on who tours you, but either way it it is worth it.

It's on Halsted at Van Buren, close to the UIC campus and Greek restaurants. There's enough inside to spend awhile like a few hours or so. It's $10 admission for adults. Museum is bigger than it looks. Good stuff inside. The first floor includes photography exhibits of Greek culture by local photographers. On the second floor was an exhibit on Greek coins commissioned by Alexander The Great. The third floor is about the experience of Greek immigration. At the top of the museum is a rooftop that hosts special events. This is usually closed but if it's open there's a nice view of the city skyline. Getting here is actually pretty convenient. It's located close to the CTA Blue Line. There's also many bus routes so it's very accessible to those who use public transportation.
