IMLI is a fun atmosphere. You may bop your head while taking pani puri shots. They have an interesting take on Indian food, and I'mhere for it. They have unique menu items which make them stand apart from the many Indian spots that have emerged. Competition is healthy, it makes businesses try harder. Some plates were hits, some misses. Their tandoor chicken stands out. It is juicy, smokey, very flavorful, delishhh. They need to leave it in the tandoor for about 3 to 4 more minutes so it cooks to the bone. Pani puri shots and masala soda were great. Their chicken makhanwala was lackluster. Everyone knows that you use tandoori chicken in makhani, they just had thin sliced chicken. It was rich, tomato based, and sweet. The gravy of the malai kofta was rich and silky, kofta itself was okay. Great presentation. Rogan josh was good. They have tons of interesting menu items, so we'll be coming back without our parents to try their more modern fare. Their tres leches ras malai looked the least appetizing, based on how they presented it. Their small plates are definitely worth trying. We came here for dinner with our big family and enjoyed some drinks and delicious food. Service was quick too. You can adjust spice levels for most dishes - we stuck to mostly mild to keep it safe. We were first given these cracker puffs with tasty sauces and salsas to dip them in. These sauces were also excellent with naan later. We got the charcoal naan and garlic naan - the garlic was our favorite. The chicken tikka masala and butter chicken were very similar and tasty. The spinach paneer was delicious and spicy. The tandoori chicken and tandoori lamb came sizzling on a hot plate and were delicious and tender. Everything was great, but the portions were overall small so we had to order a lot. read more

The signage outside of Imli makes it easy to find, and the parking is spacious. The interior is quite nice. I ordered the vegetable samosa, chicken tikka masala, jeera rice, and chili cheese naan. Everything was very good. The naan was unique to me, thinner than most other places, almost like a flatbread. I kept it safe on this first visit, but I will ask for it to be a little more spicy on my next time here. They certainly have many of meals to choose from. This was my first visit to Imli. Was craving Indian cuisine and since I had never been here, I ventured. The ambience is awesome, very upscale and inviting. The service was fantastic too. I ordered Naaniza flatbread as a ln appetizer and it did not disappoint. I loved the crispness and the flavor of diced chicken. Followed by tabdoori roti and the two curries, chicken tikka and curry leaf paneer. They were both delicious and flavorful. I also ordered a Dum Biryani ( Goat). This dish was absolutely horrendous- no flavor, too wet, meat not well cooked ... all in all a disaster dish. I ended the night with Litchi Kulfi which I enjoyed a lot especially since I wanted my palettes to be thoroughly washed off of the biryani. Overall, I would rate this place at 4 star. The restaurant is inside Wyndham hotel. We were around the area and looked up for Indian restaurant around me and Imli was the most highest rated plus it was newly opened. It was thanksgiving week, and restaurants around the area were pretty much closed, so we were sold to go there. Food was very delicious we tried their paneer starter and it was made to perfection. Recently tried this relatively new Indian restaurant in Schaumburg. To begin with, they have an amazing spacious dining area and traditional crockery and cutlery. Loved that they gave this small katori ( cups ) along with the plate so that it doesn't get messy. Kudos to the team for coming up with unique cocktail/mocktail menu and also food menu. I'm glad that the menu has amazing vegetarian options yet unique. We ordered the paneer lababdar and shaam shavera and it was mind blowing. The aloo tikki sliders were perfect with soft bun and crispy tikkis. Loved the flatbreads and breads. This place serves THE BEST Indian flatbread/Naan, very soft. The dishes had curry with pav on the side rather unconventional compared to your regular slider.The paneer bhurji tasted creamy, with a prominent hint of cardamom that really stood out. My husband and I are not familiar with Indian food but thought we would try this highly-rated restaurant near our home. The decor and ambiance are beautiful and warm. A friend recommended that we try butter chicken for one of our meals as a very popular entry into Indian cuisine. I explained our newness to Indian food to our server and asked about butter chicken, since it wasn't on the menu. She directed us to another chicken dish, Chicken Makhanwala, and we also ordered tandoori fish, cauliflower, rice with peas, and naan bread. When the meal arrived another gentleman helped carry the dishes to our table. Upon placing the chicken dish in front of me he said sneeringly, "Here's your butter chicken." Of course, it wasn't. But why would he deliberately insult me for the 'horrible' mistake of trying to order a dish they don't prepare? I guess it was like asking for a cheeseburger at Morton's, but I didn't know. The chicken dish was good, if not ample. My guess is that there was one boneless chicken thigh of meat plus curry sauce for about $21. My husband's Chilean Sea Bass was a standout, but only about 6 bite-size chunks for $30. The quarter cauliflower at $17.95 was delicious but way over-priced. Rice and naan were each extra. While the food was good, the experience was not. Who insults customers if they want to remain in business? Maybe we will try Indian food again in the future, but it won't be at Imli. read more
