After I contacted them, we were told to come back because someone would be there. She drove 25 minutes back, and once again, the business was closed. She called several times but no one answered. I understand that BeDazzle's policy is that payments are non-refundable. However, because the business was closed during our scheduled pickup, the owner agreed to make an exception and refund the money. Unfortunately, we never received the refund. The day before the event, instead of showing face and apologizing for the bad communication she sends her young attitude-filled teenage daughter instead to coordinate the guys setting up. We paid for the tents with fabric, wedding chairs, table runners etc and guess what? The wedding chair cushions were DIRTY. I bring this to the attention of Darlene's daughter and she very dismissively says, "I'll bring some more tomorrow". Fine, as long as they are replaced. Darlene's daughter leaves before the set up is complete, and we realize that they did not bring the table runners. We call and text Miss teenage attitude, no answer. The set up guys claim "maybe this fabric left behind is supposed to be the table runner", but after inspecting it we realize the dirty and torn fabric is actually for the tents not the tables. Again, tried to contact Darlene to advise her that our items are missing. No answer. She finally calls the day of the wedding and claims the fabric is the table runner. No it isn't! The fabric was clearly for the tents not the tables. And she says they will not be coming back to replace the dirty seat cushions. SO UNPROFESSIONAL! She did reimburse for the missing/dirty items but that doesn't change the fact that the items were delivered like that, terrible service and that the communication was almost zero. You can imagine how this made the bride feel on her big day. I do NOT recommend this company, they will give you a headache, stress, anxiety over bad communication and deliver dirty items.. or just not deliver some items altogether! Darlene would constantly blame her lack of communication on being "so busy" or "she didn't see my message". The week of my wedding, we had agreed on a day and time of when her team would set up for the tent drapes. Then, a day before the set up, she says that instead of setting up at 9am, she will now be coming at latest 5pm inconveniencing my family and vendors. They finally arrive to set up and her daughter (aka her "assistant") came with the biggest attitude. I was busy rehearsing with my family and vendors, that I didn't notice she left with no notice. She didn't even bother to check in with me and seeing if I needed anything else. I was so upset to find dirty seat cushions, stained and ripped drapes, and an incomplete inventory. Instead of bringing ivory table runners, I found filthy and ripped mixed matched tent drapes that she called "table runners". Her daughter Isabel told me they would come the morning of the wedding to replace any damaged material, so I trusted her word for it. That was a mistake! THE MORNING OF MY WEDDING, Darlene calls me saying "sorry I missed your call, I wasn't near my phone". Really? I called maybe 6 times. They didn't show up after-all the morning of my wedding to replace the disgusting chair cushions and runners. Instead she gave me $80 to "refund me". She was super patient and respectful with accommodating our parents' requests, too. 4) Management capability. We had a big fat South Asian wedding consisting of 4 events over 2 days with a thousand moving parts. Jessica coordinated all the vendor contracts and on-site set up. She and her husband themselves were present for the duration of all events, which made all the difference. This is the person you want when something goes wrong. From having an emergency photographer on speed dial to adjusting the timeline on the spot, Jessica kept things in motion. She brought our visions to life, whether it was through decor mockups, adding sticker decals to our welcome mirror, or negotiating quotes and extra setup time & venue space. My most favorite memory is Jessica texting me photos and videos of the Baraat celebration, which the bride is not part of. Liz's team met with us several times in the six months leading up to our wedding. We had some minor snafus nailing down meeting dates/times because they were coming from out east and we live close to Santa Monica, but we made it work. Our venue added restrictions seemingly every month thanks to those pesky neighbors, and Liz and Daniel were good about brainstorming workarounds with us. As for the big day, everything went great. They basically took care of everything that we were too busy to check on ourselves, and I'm sure they were running around monitoring details as my wife and I rested/socialized/ate/drank/took pictures. Funny story, we actually had forgotten our ceremony candles, and Daniel took off for the nearest mall about a half hour before our ceremony to get us something that would work and came back all out of breath just in time. They agreed even though they were unfamiliar with the Michigan territory and our venue. We had to also communicate through skype & google chat. Liz's assistants designed and printed our invitations and programs (a separate addition I paid for). I was very picky/specific with the way I wanted them --- football ticket style invitations and foam finger looking paper programs. Everything came out SOOOO perfectly. They did it in a manner so that it was still classy, feminine and cute yet sporty. They are so talented. People even asked if they could save the invitations and email us their rsvp instead of ripping the ticket stub. As for the wedding coordinating, Liz is very very meticulous. Even my venue and vendors were impressed and commented that they have never seen such an organized and detailed timeline. She wants your wedding to be as perfect as possible. We met via computer 3 times where we went over the timeline and other questions she had for us. She asked questions I would have NEVER thought of. She covers everything from the day before to the end of the night so that you come and leave with everything. I am very impressed with the organization of This Is The Day. The day of the wedding went so smoothly. I didn't know of any problems at all. My husband and I were so stress free. We just did everything they told us to do. Our MC had stage fright and ended up not making the flow as smooth, Dae Gun/Liz stepped up and guided him to make sure the flow of the reception went smoothly. Also, the day of, we found out we had to do the korean ceremony (pae bek). Liz and Dae Gun fit it into the schedule so smoothly. No one knew how to put on the head piece of the hanbok and the male hanbok, but Liz and Dae Gun did. They also guided us through the whole pae bek. They are amazing and obviously very experienced. She completely nailed the Moana theme down. Everyone had rave reviews about the food.
