I tried a couple of other options in the Longmont/Boulder area briefly, and then I tried Sol 19. This studio is in a different league than the others. Upon entering you are greeted warmly by both the friendly staff, and the inviting interior layout and decor. There is melodic, softly energetic music playing. A diffuser gently releases aromatic essential oil in a soft white column. Art on display is both complementary and genuinely interesting. There is a lounge area off to the right, and a small selection of exactly the retail goods you might need in such a situation. The locker rooms are clean. The students are pleasant and convivial. The studio offers many types of yoga classes other than hot, and I've enjoyed a few of the other flavors in my time here, but the hot class is what keeps me coming back. It's this crazy beautiful sweat-soaked jewel of a class, an elated relaxation, an ecstatic escape from the depravity and chaos of my daily life, a moment of heart-pounding bliss that I look forward to all day. Tam and her talented team instructors guide you through each session with a balanced blend of encouragement, compassion, and technical tips just when you need them the most. I leave each day feeling better than the day before, and I'm so grateful that this place came into my life.

I don't think one is necessarily better than the other, just depends on personal preference. The studio was very clean and had lots of props available for people to use. The instructor was very nice and fun and provided a good class. You could tell she a little bit of a newer teacher but made the class fun. We did some guided imagery meditation at the end which was interesting, not really my thing but maybe other people are into it.

I have every intention of being strong and active as I get older, but other types of exercise would result in me putting my back out. A strong core helps prevent the back strain/injuries. So Pilates has made me stronger for other sports and activities. Owner Taylor is an amazing FUN knowledgeable instructor, but there are so many unique instructors that I relish learning from all of them. Finally, Rocky Mountain Pilates & Yoga REALLY gives back to the community too. It feels like this studio is part of the fabric of Lafayette. OH! And there is this ADORABLE farmhouse boutique in the studio...they have cute merch, candles, bath and body stuff....Vermont maple syrup and local honey. The shop is worth a stop. They offer an array of levels to choose from as well as awesome events for those that would like to be enlightened on some yogic topics. I purchased an unlimited pass and only used it once so far. The yoga teacher I encountered was Meghan and she was teaching a F2 Vinyasa class. I loved her instruction and tone. It was fluid and offered great options. I would note that you may want to tell your instructor if you are opposed to adjustments if it's not your thing. The group present that night was pretty mellow and all going at their own pace, which is fine. The vibe could have been a little less segregated but I didn't mind so much. There are props available for use and mat rental for a dollar. I suggest checking them out online to view their class offerings and pricing. If the shoe fits, go to the groupon site to see if they are offering a deal your willing to indulge in. In retrospect, I'd go for a punch card because you never know what may come up and not be able to take advantage of the full month but if your motivated, it may be right for you. I have been a member for 3+ years using the lockers provided. I locked my items in the same locker…read morethe entire time. Ownership cut my lock off and left my belonging out without any notice. No sign, email, or announcement to members. Ownership told a trainer to let me know they would contact me in a couple weeks when in town. Love the trainers and location of the gym but management/ownership are terrible and I will be looking elsewhere and would recommend the same to others. Machines are broken, bathrooms/showers/towels are consistently under maintained an owners are out of town if anything is needed.

The building housing the studio is quite large and contains several businesses within it's walls. Don't be tempted by the main door for the building, the studio has it's own door on the north side. Upon entering there's seating, clothing to peruse, free tea, malas, and natural deodorant. Bonus: there's a really funny book on men doing yoga in kilts. You really could spend a whole afternoon here. I checked in with Rose at the front desk, completed my waiver and stowed my belongings in the little cubbies near the changing rooms. The class room itself is just beautiful. Wooden floor, lots of windows, a small stage, and calming artwork. The acoustics are also good. Rose played some sweet jams which set a fun tone for class. Despite years of being upside down (gymnastics, acro yoga, etc.) I felt a bit like a baby horse in this class. Turns out silks don't come naturally to me at all. No worries tho, Rose was there for the rescue. She offered a variety of modifications for how to get into and out of the silks and poses. Classmates were friendly and didn't laugh despite my grunts of discomfort (who knew there'd be a surprise facial release where the silks supported my body). I'll definitely be coming back to check out more of their offerings.

What better way to discover and experience new yoga styles then going with a fellow yoga teacher & taking this awesome class together ;) I do appreciate the 'intro to aerial yoga' session to get acquainted with how things work and basically allowing your body to be comfortable with the silk and suspension. I am use to a more rigorous yoga flow and, though this intro class was pleasant & helpful, I wouldn't recommend it to those wanting an intermediate or advance type session. With that said, it was the perfect pace and difficulty level to gain the basic skills to utilize and build upon to eventually become an aerial expert. After that intro, I feel that I'm personally set to take it up a notch, though one more intro class with the girls would be icing on the learning curve cake. The space is also very welcoming. The layout isn't something I'm use to for a yoga studio but it works out nicely. It's clean and has a homey feel upon entering. They also offer many other courses and special events that may entice you. Just remember to sign up online & save yourself a spot @ the class you'd like to take. It's currently half off for first time visitors and I've also seen a great living social deal for Figure Yoga that may still be available- always a good choice if your local to this place. Definitely go on their site & give them a call for more info.

The studio itself is a beautiful stand alone building behind a house in a quaint neighborhood. The interior of the studio is roomy and well appointed. Each instructor I have had has been very knowledgable and helpful to each student and their specific needs/physical limitations. So they come without an agenda and the class unfolds in the moment. The studio space is very small thus I almost hesitate to write a stellar review as I'm concerned that the classes with grow TOO much and we'll be too crowded; but then again, in India the matts are touching one another so I suppose we'd learn to make it work without smashing one's neighbor accidentally in the face ;) I love this studio!
