Open valley flamingo has been a wonderful school. My daughter started open valley at Just a year…read moreold and now she's in the VPK class. As a first time mom it was very hard to just let her go anywhere. Christina and Voruska (her first teacher ever) were very reassuring and just so wonderful. After just a week all my worries and fear were gone. I just knew she was in the right hands and I had nothing to worry about. As the years have gone by from getting potty trained, to learning her ABC's, writing, being a good friend and sooo much more. She always comes home singing new songs and telling me about all the fun things they do in the day. I feel confident she is ready for kindergarten! I have met the most wonderful teachers and friends since she started school. My favorite part of her school is they keep you informed about your child not only about school work but also their health. Miss Madeline and Ms.Zuleima are the best vpk teachers a parent could ask for. Miss Madeline always keeps me in the loop of how my daughter is doing in school and the milestones she is reaching. I really appreciate knowing that her education is being taken seriously. My daughter loves going to school so much that she even asks to go on the weekends. my daughter is graduating this year and I am so sad to say goodbye to my second family. Christina is the best director Anybody could ask for. If you're looking for a School to send your child to and have no worries they will be Well taken care of. Open Valley flamingo is a place to go.

As a parent, there's nothing more painful than realizing that the place you trusted to care for and…read morenurture your child actually harmed her. My daughter attended Open Valleys Academy when she was just a toddler, and to this day--now 8 years old--she still talks about the trauma she experienced there. One of the most upsetting incidents involved a teacher named Luz, who was aggressive and rough with the children. My daughter was picked up by the ear--an absolutely unacceptable and abusive act. When I brought this to the attention of the principal, Cristina, she acted as if it was just a "misunderstanding" and brushed it off. There was no accountability, no investigation, no concern. Just excuses. My daughter cried almost every morning before going to that place, and at the time, I didn't understand why. I thought it was normal separation anxiety. I had no idea she was enduring such mistreatment. One day, at only 3 years old, she tried repeatedly to ask the teacher to let her use the restroom. The teacher ignored her, too "busy" to care. My daughter ended up wetting herself. Instead of compassion or understanding, the teacher humiliated her--putting a diaper on her and placing her in the baby room for the rest of the day. That act alone traumatized her. Open Valleys Academy failed my child in the most fundamental way. They did not protect her. They did not care for her. They silenced and ignored her. And the administration, especially Cristina, chose to look the other way rather than confront the cruelty happening under their own roof. No child should have to go through what my daughter went through. No parent should have to live with the guilt of unknowingly sending their child into a harmful environment. Please--if you're considering this school, look deeper. Listen to your child. Trust your gut. I wish I had.

Everyone is so loving, respectful, and caring of the parents and children that it truly has a family feel to it. It makes us feel so at ease knowing that our son spends so much of his time there. We know that he is surrounded by other adults that love him. Unlike other daycares we visited in the area, the staff at KAP has been around a long long time; an indication of a happy place to be. This is especially important for parents and their kids as a strong bond is required with caregivers. He has also flourished in language, motor skills, and manners/respect. He is one smart little boy and communicates so well! We know this is largely in part to the attentiveness of the teachers and the activities they all do with the kids. Not once have I ever walked in and seen the kids unattended or any teachers on their phones. Not one single time. I am so happy and thankful to have found this spot and actually have 3 friends who enrolled their kids in the school as well, and also love it. I plan on putting my daughter in this center once she is of age as well :)
