I stumbled across The Learning Center Preschool by accident as a result from Siri's misdirection…read more This could not have been a bigger blessing in disguise at the moment. I previously interviewed and visited over 15 feasible daycare centers in Palm Beach County. Upon entering the school mid 2016, I immediately noticed the cleanliness and variety of activities that the children were engaging in. The staff was actively involved with the children and the fact there were no televisions present, was truly impressive. After speaking with the directors and acquiring about my questions, I decided this is where my son would have a safe opportunity to not only attend childcare, but learn as well. The distinguishing fact there was structure with qualified teachers and age based activities to enhance learning really caught my eye. I also really appreciate the respect the teachers give the children and are genuinely interested in their best interests. My son started in the smaller building around 1 1/2 years old and progressed to the building next door. The smaller ratios and individual attention to the kids addressing certain needs was appreciated. The fun activities the school hosts such as holiday and outside events truly make it feel like a family involved environment. My son recently started VPK, which has been a stimulating experience for both him and I. I love the interaction I see with the children, teachers, and staff. I feel welcomed there as a parent and I love the encouragement to participate. The three best things about this school besides the friendly, caring, qualified teachers and staff are: the safety and ground rules established, communication and prompt responses, and the stimulating curriculum that is taught as a hands on approach. I am so excited and grateful to witness how my four year old has developed new life skills and has expanded his potential as a result of this attentive environment.

1 Star -- Extremely Disappointed After 6 Years as YMCA Members…read more Unfortunately, after what happened today, we decided to cancel our YMCA membership and our children's swimming lessons. We have been YMCA members for six years. We have used this facility regularly, our children have taken swimming lessons here, and we have invested a lot of time and money into this membership. That is why today's experience was especially disappointing. I have already left a negative review about this YMCA, but today's situation honestly went beyond what I consider acceptable. This morning, I came to the YMCA for my workout. Around 11:00 AM, as I was leaving, I noticed an older woman in a white car trying to park next to my vehicle. There was no actual parking space available, and she was trying to squeeze into the area between the designated parking spaces. I didn't pay much attention at the time because I was in a hurry to pick up my daughter from daycare. After picking up my children, I returned to my car and discovered significant scratches on the plastic part of my vehicle. The damage was large enough that the paint had been completely scraped off. I immediately went back to the YMCA, hoping they could check their security cameras and possibly help identify the person responsible. Instead, I was told that they could not review the cameras themselves and that I needed to call the police. I was told that they would review the footage only if the police requested it. We called the police. An officer came and documented the incident. However, he did not even go inside the YMCA to review or request the camera footage. He simply explained that cameras of this type are often not clear enough to identify a license plate or a person's face. What I found especially frustrating is that there seemed to be no attempt to look for another way to identify the person. Even if the video quality was not good enough to clearly see the license plate or face, I suggested checking the approximate time of the incident and comparing it with the YMCA's membership check-in records. Members scan their membership when entering the facility. I had seen exactly where the woman went after parking, so it seemed reasonable to at least check whether someone matching the description entered the building around that time. Instead, I felt completely left on my own. I understand that the YMCA cannot be responsible for every incident that happens in its parking lot. I am not expecting the YMCA to pay for my car or to magically identify the driver. But after six years as a member, I expected basic cooperation, communication, and a genuine effort to help when something like this happened on YMCA property. The damage to my car was upsetting, but the lack of assistance and the way the situation was handled was even more disappointing. After six years, this was the final straw for us. We canceled our membership today and also canceled our children's swimming lessons. Very disappointed that after being loyal members for six years, this is how our relationship with the YMCA ends.

We fired her, called Trisha at Little Angels and she had scheduled a bunch of interviews for our position. We picked one and within an hour of her being at our home I realized it wasn't going to work out- Trisha had a whole new group for us to interview the following day- Trisha was very understanding and helpful with the situation and I really appreciated her ability to make it happen FAST!! We had a good and the most horrible experience with the agency. One nanny emotionally abused my son…read morein 2 days that she was there. When I left with my daughter to class I checked the cameras at home and she put my son infront of TV (when I specifically told her he can only watch tv when he eats) and went outside to speak on the phone. When I texted and called her she didn't respond. Then I spoke to her through in home camera and she flipped out on me calling me names and threatening that she's going to leave now if i "don't get my ass home right effing now". She continued to yell at me through the camera. While I got out of class at this point my son was distressed and crying in hysteria. She proceeded to call my son horrible names and eventually left the house and stood outside while my son was in panic crying for 15 mins while I was driving. When I finally arrived she was still outside proceeded calling me names. I ran into the house with my daughter and saw my son on the floor in complete panic. They clearly did not do a thorough background check on her. Our other nanny was good but she quit because she felt "overworked". While she never worked for more than 40-43 hours per week. Having said that the agency provided us with babysitters when our nanny wasn't available and we're very efficient with it.
