If you are seeking orthodontic treatment, I encourage you to consider OTHER options. The sales pitch may seem encouraging and uplifting, but my experience has been DISAPPOINTING. During each appointment, which occurred only once every 3 months, the dentist would spend just 5 minutes (or maybe at most?) with me. After that, an assistant would take over for the scanning process, and I would be sent home without further clarification. I tried to ask, but I was often left in the dark about important details. What was my treatment plan? I NEVER knew. What issues did I have with my teeth? That information was NEVER provided. What is the name of the orthodontist? That was hard to remember since there was always a DIFFERENT person attending to me during my visits. After 2 years of orthodontic treatment, you might wonder what I gained. [sigh] The answer is frustration, anxiety, overbite after treatment, gum recessions (multiple black triangles between my teeth and lowered gum line), and tiredness and regret of my choice 2 years ago. read more

If you're looking for orthodontic care, I implore you to look elsewhere. Although a handful of staff were kind and welcoming, there are quite a few staff who were incredibly rude and gave an attitude when spoken to. I had many issues with poor communication regarding payments (I had to call to sort out these issues and was very rarely informed, if at all, about these issues) and a few months into my treatment was told that I had no card on file for automatic payments despite setting up automatic payments at the very start of my treatment. I've observed miscommunication between staff regarding my treatment plan and some of the staff do not seem to be very attentive during appointments. I've had to deal with bruised gums and have left appointments seemingly with no issues only to encounter loose wires cutting up the inside of my mouth in multiple locations hours later. The cherry on top was when I received my retainer. Because I was unable to pickup my retainer, I requested for them to be shipped. I was not informed that I would need to pay the shipping fee (which I would've agreed to pay had they informed me day of or later on when it was time to ship them) and only when I called to check on the progress of the shipment was I informed that I needed to pay the fee. I'm sure the photos will speak for themselves, but obviously there was little to no care put into the packaging. Everything, the mold of my teeth and the retainers themselves, were put in a ziplock bag, wrapped with paper towels and rubber bands, thrown into a box, and shipped just like that. Pieces of the mold had broken off inside the plastic bag and my retainer arrived with jagged edges, bits of plastic hanging off, and overall in poor condition. It's incredibly insulting to receive my retainers in this condition when they tell you at the end of your treatment that they will cost a few hundred dollars to replace. Overall, I had a disappointing experience with Image Orthodontics and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

great experience regarding my invisalign treatment and post-invisalign aftercare!! an added plus of going with Image Orthodontics was their flexibility in terms of scheduling as they have a couple of offices in the city where you're able to be seen at either - some of the staff also work at both, so you're seeing familiar faces regardless. in terms of continuous aftercare, i would highly recommend the lifetime retainer. in my most recent visit, Ben was super helpful and informative. not only did he recommend processing my 2 retainers/year at the same time, but also took a scan (vs mold) for future retainers! these were great recommendations to save you the hassle of coming back multiple times throughout the year. overall, the whole staff is awesome - from front desk to ortho team to oral surgeon (also got my wisdom teeth extraction scheduled and done)! read more

Ms. Ashley at the front desk has really gone out her way to help me! From the moment I stepped foot in there I felt seen. There were many obstacles and hoops to go through to finally get my son the oral surgery he needed. It all started with insurance issues, then transitioned to payment issues, and treatment plan issues. All no ones fault but Ashley was patient and walked me through everything. She answered any and every question I had. I can rant about her all day honestly. The procedure aspect of it was super fast. My son got two wisdom teeth removed and it was less than 30 mins. His doctor was Andrew Weeks. The doctor is a man of few words which is fine I guess but I just wished he was more welcoming. Overall, the quality of care my son received was great. I want to thank Monica, the manager, and her team for replacing a broken permanent retainer for me! I had this retainer for quite a while and when it came off one of my teeth, I immediately booked an appointment with Ada, the patient coordinator, for the next available time. On my appointment day I was kindly greeted by everyone. Dr. Lee was amazing to remove the old retainer as I sat comfortably and Sam, the assistant, was able to put on the new permanent retainer, which feels much more sturdy than the previous one. I cannot thank you enough for taking care of me with such comfort and quickness. The whole appointment, from my scheduled time slot to the end, took less than an hour. This place is a scam. Most orthodontists will replace your retainers if you crack them. Instead, Image charges you $400 per replacement or tries to upsell you on lifetime retainer replacements. I had a light crack in my upper retainer after about a month and this is what I was told by two people from Image. Before we got to the retainer stage, my experience was also bad but I held off on leaving a review until now. I was told the total treatment would last 6 months, and with near constant wear of about 22 hours a day, it still took 2 years. The orthodontist was dismissive after each additional treatment when my teeth were still clearly very crooked. I felt like they just wanted to take my money and run. My new dentist said it's pretty uncommon for orthodontists to not offer a few free replacements as long as the circumstances aren't weird. Anecdotally, my girlfriend had the same issue with cracked retainers with another orthodontist and they replaced 3 of them for free over the past 6 months. Again, this place is a scam and they simply do not care about outcomes here. I'm switching over to a new orthodontist for the replacements that will do free replacements and actually seems to care about outcomes. read more

When first starting my smile journey I loved my experience. Ashley in particular was incredibly helpful and put my mind at ease with payment options and was thoughtful with detailing the care options available to me and set my expectations realistically. It's not easy to take a leap of faith to get braces as an adult. Ashley made me feel confident and excited to do so. Lately, my experiences at the front desk has been bothersome. The young lady who organizes the appointments seems disinterested and lacks phone etiquette. She's quick to rush off the phone, doesn't throughly answer questions and doesn't take accountability when she makes mistakes. I recently asked if they no longer sent text confirmation for appointments to which she said they did. I haven't received one in over six months, which led to me accidentally missing an appointment recently, she responded with "that's weird". I volunteered my information to confirm they had the correct number and sure enough I got a confirmation text right after. It's pretty obvious they have to send the messages on their end and those steps haven't been taken but what was frustrating is rather than an acknowledgment of the mistake, she hung up on me while I was speaking. This isn't the first time that's happened. I've been coming here over a year and I'm pretty sure they don't even know my name. I witnessed a technician while I was sitting in the chair waiting to be seen pointing at me and mouthing "what are they here for", which seemed incredibly unprofessional. I'm assuming they have charts and with the appointment system they have in place I would expect they should have some idea of how far along my smile journey has come along. Even if what I witnessed was out of context, it should not have happened in such close proximity to me. With that, I am pleased with my results so far. My teeth have shifted nicely and the orthodontist is incredibly talented and does have the ability to take care of a high volume amount of patients, however I do think their team needs a retraining on effective communication with patients and spacial awareness. The office could be truly incredible with more hospitality in place. Getting your teeth worked on will always be uncomfortable, but feeling welcome there helps make it easier to bear. read more

I've been with Image Ortho for over two years and recently finished my Invisalign treatment. I've always enjoyed going to my appts because the staff over at the Laurel Heights location was always super friendly and accommodating. They always returned my calls within 1 - 2 days when I had questions about my Invisalign treatment. About 2.5 weeks ago, I called Image Ortho because my retainers were deformed. I had accidentally left them in a pair of jeans, which eventually ended up in the washer/dryer. I called Image Ortho immediately knowing that my teeth will begin to shift overtime and asked about getting a replacement. I spoke to a guy who said he would pass the message to someone and I would get a call back. A week went by and no follow up. I called again the following week, this time speaking with a women. I explained my situation to her but also stated my teeth starting to shift and that I needed to speak to someone to see if I needed additional Invisalign trays to straighten my teeth again. She immediately tried to schedule me to go into the office. But because I'm in Los Angeles, I told her that wouldn't be possible. And if I were to fly into SF, I first want to know what the plan was or the costs to get additional trays since my teeth already started to shift. The rep told me she would send an 'urgent' email to the main office and someone will call me back at the end of the day or the following day. 3 days go by and no phone call. So I call again. Third time calling, I speak to another woman and told her it's going on 2 weeks since I've last called and that this was my 3rd time calling with no follow up. She puts me on hold and transfers me to a manager. When I asked why I wasn't called sooner, she states there were no notes or messages from any of the staff that I spoke to to call me back. And her resolution was, we can reorder you your last set of trays for $100 but 'can't guarantee' it'll fit. And the retainer replacement cost will be $800. Why did it take 2 weeks for anyone at the office to let me know this information? And why am I getting advise from someone that works at the front desk? Why couldn't the orthodontist give me a call instead to give me a treatment plan? I would've been more than happy to pay the $100 knowing my teeth would still fit into the Invisalign tray 2 weeks ago. But to tell a customer, especially from a "manager" - who likes to cut you off mid sentence and says that this is the only resolution or go find another orthodontist that's local to you - is just absurd. read more

Not just the customer service, but the customer EXPERIENCE was great. I was in need of braces and I found them through my dental insurance's website (Cigna). I came on two different days: one for examination and one braces. Here was what I noticed as a customer service professional. THE BUYING PROCESS: It feels like going to a store and buying what you want. I walked in and got an examination the same day without needing to pay, book an appointment, or show my Cigna card. I left with the estimate, payment plan, and contact card stapled together. On the day I got braces, I signed legal and administrative forms with someone explaining to me what each document was for. I chose the payment plan and they accept credit cards. I left with my documents in a folder and aftercare tools in a bag. THE SERVICE: Now, the customer service is what was fantastic. I was treated as if I was already a paying customer even before I paid. I was acknowledged when I entered. They gave time frames for how long I would be waiting in the lobby, when I would be seen, and by WHO I would be seen. All of the employees are approachable, easy to talk to, and work together. During my braces installation, the tech told me exactly what she was doing and what I discomfort I might feel because of it. This type of care was consistent across all the employees. I find it difficult to minus a star. This location could be used as an example in the customer service courses. Thank you especially to Ashley, Binh, Sarah, the doctor, and the receptionists. I needed a replacement retainer made, prior to a holiday weekend, when I was going to be traveling, and these folks shined in every way. My retainer was 10 years old, made in another state and by another Dr., and broke into a few pieces on a Thurs night. On the Friday before July 4th I was calling around to every Dentist and Orthodontist I knew (incl my own), and all were either closed for the long weekend, not accepting new patients, or booked. Given that I was leaving for vacation for a week, keenly aware of how quickly my teeth can move, I was in a bit of a panic that no one could help me. Image Orthodontics not only helped me and saw me that afternoon, but they were also super friendly and empathetic to my situation, reasonably priced, and quick to fabricate a new retainer for me in a few hours. I have had a bad experience since Image Orthodontics took over Days To Smile. I received a phone call one week before my appointment asking to move my appointment at an earlier time. I obliged and moved my appointment 30 minutes earlier. Minutes before my appointment, as I was riding the elevator to get to the office, I was informed that the doctor had to leave early due to illness. This "illness" was very questionable since the office called one week before to move my appointment up. I suspect the doctor had a personal appointment which conflicted with my schedule and decided to not see me. I drove 40 minutes and missed two hours worth of work to get to my appointment. Needless to say I was very disappointed and very irked with the doctor. Today, I received an email to confirm an appointment for 4:40. My set appointment is for 4:50. I have a confirmation email that says 4:50 when I made the appointment with the front desk. This random time change confirmation is very unprofessional and very stressful. I have never had a medical office randomly change my appointment time with out verbal notification. I cannot wait for my orthodontic needs to be finished.
