Andersen's has a very large selection.. I mean, lots and lots of books. My fiancee and I designed our own monogram and they worked with us with the overall design of the invitations, wording and several proofs. We are so pleased how well the invitations turned out! I even got compliments on the quality of the envelopes from the calligrapher. We will definitely be going back to Andersen's to finish the programs and for some engraving!

The pet crematorium I worked with gave me the wood urn and frame for the photo but did not have a resource for the engraving. I had to figure this out myself. Sure enough, ALE has a CNC machine and does all sorts of personalized engraving. The owner, Trinidad Marungo, was wonderful to work with! He not only could do the engraving but he did it the project while I waited. Cost was $36 which was delightful for a specialty item like this. ALE also does personalized engraving on wood, leather, marble, granite, glass, vinyl, stainless steel and I help you with design. I will be back!

I've been meaning to have my great grandmothers homemade hand-stitched Barbie clothes framed. It's…read moreone of those projects where I just have to take the 1st step: put all the Barbie clothes in a bag and bring them to Dupage Framing Center. So I did that. THAT alone was a big enough step! Thankfully Bob and Mary helped me with the rest of the way. This is a very sentimental framing project and they were both lovely to work with! Mary was more of the creative mastermind while Bob floated around to give his 2 cents here and there. We started grandiose. Maybe too grandiose for my budget. Custom framing is expensive - Mary explained to me that "fabric goes with fabric". These little Barbie clothes would be sewn onto a fabric background. She herself sewed each piece onto a gorgeous pinstripe silk background that I chose. Bob was great helping pick a frame that was deep enough to showcase the clothing. They both offered several options and allowed me to take my time choosing. I'm so over the moon with how my project turned out. It turns out Jim Henry Inc. is an 80 year old business which provides frames, certificates, and…read morewhat I'll call trinklets (small plaques and trophies, medallions, pins, pendants, etc) mostly for the medical profession.  I ordered a gift frame for my son's medical board certificate and being sorta in the Chicagoland neighborhood and to save $19 in shipping cost, I queried and was amicably agreed a physical pickup in lieu of shipping.  After just a few days' wait for the frame prep, I also got to meet Chris McClurg, the friendly president of the company who while presenting my purchase also gave me a little tour of their office and product displays.  They are located in a quaint industrial section of St. Charles and near the DuPage airport.  They have customers from all over the world.  I made an observation that businesses like Jim Henry have longevity by finding a solid niche and with theirs being mostly (but not exclusively) associated with the medical profession.  I noticed how all of the son's celebrated milestones (diplomas, degrees, certifications, etc) came with different sized certificates and each had their own preferred frame supplier - what a racquet I thought!  Anyway, this was most certainly a one time visit, but I mentioned to Chris that because he had a Yelp listing with no info nor reviews, I would oblige him with a written thank you and a little PR, and here it is!

I got out in the cold weather, rang the doorbell, waited, but no answer! By the time they responded nearly 30 minutes later, I was already gone. If they weren't available at the time we agreed on, they should have had the common decency to communicate that in order to respect my time. I know it's a small "business" but this was so unprofessional. Do better! I would not recommend this service unless it's your last resort.
