I recently had a few disposable cameras that I wanted to get printed out for scrapbooking. I did some research to see where the most affordable place would be to get this done and "I'm still developing" was an option. After discovering that this is a slightly newer small business, I figured I would give it a try.
At the entrance it looked like a canopy was set up where you can order coffee and sweets which was nice, when I walked in there was a DJ sitting on their mini couch playing music which was also pretty cool but also a bit random considering it was so small in there (no shade just an observation). It was a bit too small to be having so much commotion going but I guess it is good for promotional purposes. But at this point, it's obvious that I'm the only paying customer in the shop which was a bit suspicious.
I walked right up to the counter and let the clerk know that I had 2 disposable cameras and I wanted to get the photos printed and wanted to know their turnaround time. He let me know it was going to be around $30 (so $15 each) which seemed reasonable to me and he also let me know it would take about a week. (a bit too long for my liking but I was ok with it). I paid. Afterwords he started letting me know how it was going to work. He let me know they were going to develop my film and email me the digitals. I was confused because I didn't request the digitals.. I then asked " what about the prints" he responded telling me that the prints were extra...
Don't know if this was a mistake on his end but I made it very clear I was just there for the prints; I could care less about the digitals. (sorta started to feel like I was getting scammed). I then asked him how much for THE PRINTS. He let me know it was going to be around $30 (so $15 each..) Umm ok? I paid.
That night I checked my account and I was never reimbursed for the digitals that were never requested. I was going to go back the next day to request a refund and reiterate that I ONLY requested the prints and not the digitals, but when I checked my e-mail they were already complete.
Don't get me wrong, the digitals came out nice and it did make it more convenient to send the photos to family members digitally. But at this point, it's too late to get a refund I guess considering they already sent them to me. The prints were ready the next business day which I really appreciated, and I didn't make a fuss about the digitals when I went to pick up my prints since they are a small business and the clerk clearly made some sorta mistake - we're all human. But $60 for 2 disposable cameras is definitely too much in my opinion.
So, would I come back to conduct business here again? No. - Overpriced. Just go to CVS.
Will I show up to listen to a random DJ for aesthetic purposes and because I'm bored? Meh, maybe. read more
