I've been to Dr Kovak many times for different issues, but the first time was to get rid of the…read moreappearance of veins under my eyes and few spider veins on my face that occurred as a result of waxing away that peach fuzz (eye veins unrelated). Dr Kovak is very compassionate and reasonable with the prices. I paid far more at a random laser center when I received a treatment for over 150 that did nothing where as Dr. Kovak zapped the tiny area for basically nothing after doing my under eye area which was very reasonable. I had done fillers from another doc long before I knew Dr Kovak and it wasn't a good experience for me, Dr Kovak is someone I've come to trust. That previous doctor was giving me vitrase in order to dissolve the product that migrated to above and below my lips and used a bit of steriod in the mix for the nodules I developed and it cause a dent/indentation or atrophy in my upper lip that looked pretty bad. So I went back to Dr Kovak to help fix the issue. I did my own research into successful treatments for atrophy and came across many studies on saline injections that reverse the atrophy over time by diluting the steriod crystals that prevent the fat tissue from regenerating. Dr. Kovak was concerned that I had steriod put in my face and he said you may need filler to fill the area because it may be permanent but he would be willing to try the saline injections first that I asked about... he suggested 3 times once a month. The studies I read they used a protocol of 1 time a week 4 to 6 times and when I mentioned that to Dr the next time I saw him and He said okay! Let's do it! He clearly cares about and listens to his patients and he doesn't have that large ego you're used to seeing with very successful Drs like him. I love this man, we need more Drs like him in the world. So far, I've had 3 saline injections and the indentation is getting less and less. The dr noticed it changing too. I am blessed to have found him. I saw a review that compared oak brook terrace to villa Park and she sounds sad. Hopefully she gets help with that delusion and finds a dr that's more her vibration and I don't envy that person. Dr. Kovak agreed to send in Rx to Walgreens. Upon leaving appointment, Sandy Kovak told me there was a $100 Fee for Writing a Prescription. Then she told me it was a Consultation Fee which contradicted what I was told when making the appointment (Office Visit). This was never disclosed nor stated when I inquired about the costs when making the appointment nor during the exam. It is unusual and improper for a doctor's office to charge a separate $100 prescription fee on top of an office visit charge, especially if it was not disclosed upfront. A prescription is generally considered part of the treatment included in the cost of the office visit. I have asked for this charge to be reversed and to have Dr. Kovak return my call.

Most companies take back product no matter what the condition whether it's open or not if the patient/customer is dissatisfied. Also, the doctor claimed each vial lasted for 24 hours... oops it's 8 hours (she didn't read the 24 hours was just patient testimonials. I have also had a very good experience with the Limelight Med Spa. The only reasons that I cannot give this facility a 5 star rating is because of the rest of the staff. They were very courteous, but there seems to be a lack of communication behind the scenes. For example, they appear to overbook the doctors in the morning which causes delays (example given: my pre-op appointment was at 9am which I was on time for, but sat in the waiting from until almost 9:45). To avoid this I would suggest spacing out appointments (schedule patients in 15min increments: 9, 9:15, 9:30...). The other reason that I will not give a 5 star rating is because of the confusion with my medication. When leaving my pre-op appointment, I was given a box of sincinecch and a written prescription with only one medication on it. I asked where I could go to fill the prescription and whether of not that written prescription had everything on it. At the time, I was told that I had everything I'd need and could go to any pharmacy to pick it up. I made sure the fill the written prescription prior to the surgery. When the operation was finished, I was in excruciating pain and was informed my the nurse that I was supposed to have two other medications which were not on the written prescription. I later received a voicemail from Peggy saying that she had already ordered the other two prescriptions directly with a Walgreens on August 11th. I was extremely frustrated that I wasn't informed that there were another two prescriptions waiting for me, or even told which Walgreens that the medication was sent to (there's a different Walgreens every two miles from each other, and it took almost an hour for us to find the right one). Please fix the communication problem so that no other patient needs to be in constant pain while playing phone tag the the office and different pharmacies.

When I called, I was told I needed a second syringe and that this had supposedly been discussed during my visit. I went back, and instead of addressing why the filler didn't last, she tried to sell me a third syringe, commenting that my smile was "very wide." Once again, the results faded within a month. In February 2026, I went to a different injector (BRN, RN). She was thorough, gentle, and professional. She couldn't even feel any prior filler in my lips. I received one syringe, had no bruising, minimal swelling, and loved the results. The difference in skill and professionalism was night and day. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this provider.
