I emailed back to ask how things were going and she acted like she forgot about me so I reminded her of all we talked about and she said she would work on it. In short, I wasted a month getting no answers, no info, and never a single call or email back. What a waste and now I have gotten no where closer to my trip. Why can't people just do their job or if they can't help you, tell you so you don't sit waiting! Total disorganization and unresponsive. Don't waste your time like I did!

First call into the agency, I was passed Around at least 3 times before someone was able to assist me. I was VERY clear with the agent that we wanted luxury hotels- prefer smaller boutique properties near sights BUT quiet- no nightclubs or hotels on busy main boulevards. Agent promised to send a few suggestions next day or so. Finally after about a week, she submitted her suggestions. I checked them out on Trip Advisor and guess what....her first choice for us was rated poorly due to LOUD, noisy rooms! When I pointed this out, she said " oh you are right!". Long story short, we are now at least 3 months since my first contact and we STILL do not have the promised arrangements finalized. I called her to ask when we would have it. She was not available so I left a voice message. When she called me, I was busy and asked her to call me in 10 minutes. An hour later, still no call, so I give up and go online and book my first hotel myself. I want to be sure we have a place to stay after a long flight overnight from the US. I call her back again and she says" oh I forgot about you". That was about a month ago, the trip is almost upon us and I STILL do not have all arrangements made. Horrible experience.

I always take out travel insurance due to the the unpredictablity of my 95 yr.old mother-in-law living with us. So the first thing I did was call the 800 number provided on my trip receipt. After 45 minutes of waiting on hold, I spoke to 2 people who I could barely understand. The first person either didn't understand me or doesn't understand her job description because she had know idea why I was calling. She sent me to a second person who had me on hold for long periods of time but managed to give me two "case numbers" for my claim and said that he would be emailing me information about the documentation needed to get a refund and that I would get the email in 24 -48 hours. It's been 4 days and I haven't received a thing!! I've tried every way possible of reaching someone at American Express travel by phone, been on hold 3 times only to be disconnected after holding 20-30 minutes later without speaking to anyone. I don't know if the amex travel insurance people even cancelled my trip as they claimed they were doing?? This is beyond frustrating!!! At $695/yr. I will definitely NOT be renewing my American Express platinum card again; I've only kept it for travel purposes but the travel service with AMEX has just gotten worse and worse as their annual fees have gotten higher and higher!! I wish I could leave a negative 5 star rating!!
