I booked a…read moreone-way flight less than 24 hours before my departure time and was able to fly American with a connection in Dallas. This was exciting as many many years ago the only options were connections in Chicago and that can always be hit or miss because of weather. There are two terminals and you can tell they've added new chairs that were super comfy. As another reviewer said, the security check made me laugh as I agree they must be so bored all day. I have the new "real ID" and the ladies working the check in spot got some leaflet out to verify my states drivers license and then were discussing it while shining some weird light on it. This airport still offers free parking which is unheard of these days. No need for the cell phone waiting area, you can actually park and walk inside to greet your loved ones as they arrive to SPI. :-)

I genuinely do not understand how this hotel has such positive reviews. The photos online were…read moreextremely misleading compared to the actual condition of the room. Upon entering the room, I was immediately met with an unpleasant odor. As I started looking around, things only got worse. The bathtub in the bathroom was visibly dirty, the walls throughout the room had stains all over them, and there were crumbs left on the floor that made it obvious the room was not cleaned properly before my arrival. What really shocked me was how neglected certain areas were. Under the bed looked like it had not been cleaned in a very long time, and the area around the AC unit was covered in buildup and dirt to the point where it seemed like nobody had touched it for months. Even the mini fridge was an issue because the door would barely stay closed. For the price paid and the way this hotel presents itself online, this experience was beyond disappointing. I booked this hotel based on the reviews and photos, and I honestly feel misled. I normally do not leave negative reviews, but people deserve to know what they are actually walking into before spending their money here.

We got there about 15 minutes before it was to close and they kept it open at at least 10 minutes after that for us and others that were late getting down there that day. I thought that was a classy move. You don't get one minute past closing time at a Hampton Inn. The staff here was absolutely extraordinary! Also, the people who own the hotel are very friendly -- that's always a plus. We didn't have a coffee pot in the room, so dad-in-law asked for one, and they gave one to us to use during our stay. There were 3 of us in our group, and we each wanted a separate bed, so we got a HUGE room with 3 double (or maybe queen) beds in it. It was really nice and spacious -- but as I said, not fancy. The bathroom towels are kinda cheap-feeling, for instance. But cleanliness is really all we really cared about, so we were fine with that. Two other pluses: free internet, refrigerator in the room. One point off for flaky internet connection. We'd definitely stay here again.
