We were paying for our neighbors power and got evicted for complaining about it. When we wouldn't accept their extremely low offer for our shed and deck, they proceeded to file false charges against us and stole our shed and deck by not allowing us to retrieve them. We aren't the only ones either. Last season a couple spoke out about management, so they evicted them AND their parents on a different lot! Overnight in a pinch maybe, but I would NEVER recommend a permanent lease situation with the current owners.

The park itself is very pretty, lots of green space, very mature trees that provide a ton of shade, picnic tables, and fire rings and it is very clean. The downside is you are sandwiched between Highway 74 and a train track and it is very loud. I can honestly say and all of our travels this is the loudest we have ever had From a nearby highway. We had our overhead fan running on high all night and you could still hear the semi's rumbling by so we did not get a good night sleep. There is a nice pool here and they had music playing so the kids would probably really enjoy this place. Lots of room to roam! We were assigned slot 19, which is a nice pull through site. We did have a bit of trouble with low water pressure at this site. We also could not get the Wi-Fi to work. We could connect, but the speakers were so low. We couldn't do anything with it. We have Verizon and cell service was great so that worked out for us. At $36 per night for a 30 amp site with a good Sam discount it's a pretty good deal. Staff were super friendly as well.

They were super friendly at check-in and even offered chocolate chip cookies, which is a first. They also had popcorn. There is also Fatso's pizza place that is part of the front office and they give you a menu upon check-in. We were assigned to site two, which had a beautiful Lake view and was on the end so we had fairly unobstructed views of the lake. There's plenty of green space in this park and they had Disc golf as well as a pretty nice playground for the kids. The sites are fairly close together and there are 60 total sites in the campground, so seem like they had plenty of room. There are a lot of different site types that you can reserve, including one that is completely paved with some patio furniture. They also have cabins to rent if you don't have a camper. Loved all the shade trees too. We did not use the public showers or restroom so I cannot comment on that. With a good Sam discount, this place was $53 per night. Make sure to try the pizza, we ordered a small one just for a snack and it was fantastic! Make sure to ask them to make the cross extra crispy if you like it that way. All the utilities worked fine although I will say, even with our filter, the water had a little bit of an odor to it. Not sure what that was all about. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within about a mile of this place as well.

I have omitted the site numbers of what I consider unsatisfactory sites. Comlara Park acceptable camp sites. All sites listed here are desirable due to being easy to level a trailer even with the tow vehicle still connected (unless otherwise noted) and are scenic with good space around the site. I had ordered fire wood online but, when she was bringing us to our site, there was "extra" from the previous campers. Long day of driving ended with a nice relaxing late afternoon/evening. This time, the owner called me as I was about 20 minutes away to tell me that the interstate exit was blocked and told me an alternative route. If he hadn't called, I would've been taken on a 9-mile detour. We got an escort to our site, which I always appreciate. Not that much noise from I-57 nearby. The lake in front with the geese and ducks to wonderful to view from our front window. All the utilities worked just fine, although the water had a slight metallic taste.
