We have 3 senior cats. On good Friday the female was showing end of life behavior. Our primary vet…read morewas not available. Contacted a few other nonemergency vet options and was not able to get through but reached out to VEG Saturday afternoon. Very helpful on the first phone call, technician was compassionate and put me through to the an Dr on staff and we discussed options. Was sent an easy link to fill out ahead of coming and when we finally did come through the door, the staff was professional, compassionate and understanding. Options were provided at every step with no judgment or pressure. The room we were provided was serene and peaceful. We were allowed plenty of time to process at each step, offered water and accommodations of being present or not for the actual transition. No one wants to ever think of this process for their family member but this staff and facility were incredible during our loss. Highly recommend if you have the unfortunate situation as well.

But I found VEG on google initially and saw that it was close to home. From the moment I called to make sure they could see me and my pup, they were incredibly helpful and kind. I arrived and once I pulled up they had a team out to the front to help my and my pup. They instantly got to work on my dog and I felt their concern and genuine support. I unfortunately did not receive the news I wanted and had to put my dear pup to sleep. The team here were incredibly supportive and caring once I decided to make my pup comfort. They had a beautiful, cozy room for us to say our goodbyes and helped coordinate all things after. I can't speak more highly of this place and everyone here. I would give this place a million stars if I could. Again, I would highly recommend the this location for any and all emergencies.

From the moment I made the first call through our dog's surgery and recovery, everyone at Aurora…read morewas fantastic. The receptionists, vet techs, doctors--all wonderful--professional, warm, welcoming--and all took the time to carefully explain every part of the process, from the first appointment, diagnosis, surgery, recovery, financing, etc. Dr. Peacock is everything you'd want your vet (or your own doctor) to be. He is a highly experienced surgeon--and doctors at that level often lack the "bedside manner" so crucial to clear communication and a healthy doctor/patient/patient's family relationship. Dr. Peacock dispelled all those concerns the moment he walked in the room. He is warm and down to earth. He was so helpful--examining our dog, explaining the issue and appropriate procedure--and answering all of our questions (some of which we likely asked more than once) with patience, kindness, and candor. I can't express enough how positive the entire experience was. Every single person made us feel comfortable, confident in our dog's care, and welcome. And our dog is good as new (so to speak!) Thank you, everyone at Aurora!

I brought my Great Dane to VCA Aurora Animal Hospital on 12/28 at approximately 5:15 PM during a…read moretrue medical emergency. My dog was experiencing severely labored breathing and post-surgical complications and urgently needed oxygen support. I was already hesitant to come here due to the overwhelming number of negative reviews, but the emergency hospital I normally use did not have oxygen available. I arrived in a state of panic with a dog who was visibly struggling to breathe. What I was met with was shockingly cold, dismissive, and unprofessional behavior from a young woman at the front desk who clearly had no interest in helping or even pretending to care. Instead of compassion or urgency, I was asked, "Have we seen you here before?" When I said no and explained the emergency, her only response was, "Well this is why we tell people to call before they come in. We're full and can't take your dog." I was so taken aback by the rudeness and lack of empathy that I walked out, placed my dog back in the car, and then returned inside to address how inappropriate her response had been given the severity of the situation. While I calmly voiced my discontent, the only response I received was a dismissive "Mmmmhmmmm, ok" repeated a few times. No apology. No acknowledgment. No concern. Nothing. I was absolutely floored. This wasn't a scheduling issue or a routine visit. This was a dog struggling to breathe. The lack of etiquette, professionalism, and basic human compassion was astounding and deeply upsetting, especially in what could have been my dog's final moments. This experience fully validated every negative thing I had heard about this organization. By contrast, Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Naperville and Oak Brook, as well as THRIVE in Hoffman Estates, treated my dog with kindness, urgency, and genuine compassion over the following days. The difference was night and day. Those hospitals understood what emergency veterinary care is supposed to look like. VCA clearly does not. I will never bring an animal here again, and I will actively warn others to avoid this location. No pet owner should be subjected to additional emotional distress when they are already terrified for their animal's life. This was unacceptable, heartless, and profoundly disappointing.

I called ahead of time to check on pricing for the exam, etc., and one of the Vets answered and was so kind and patient while I explained what was going on. She reassured me they would walk me through a treatment plan we could handle after I brought her in. When I got there, I was met with the warmest, kind, helpful energy from every single person who worked there. From the person who did our intake, to the techs who did her initial vitals and administered her IV later on, (and cleaned up her mess on the way out - TY) to the Vet herself, I felt more than comfortable that they had my girls best interest in mind but were also realistic with what I could spend and how far we wanted to go with her care considering that she's 15.5 years old. After the vet examined her, I was sent a quote via email I could approve via my phone, and while I paid cash, they have an instant link you can pay for your services via credit card through email as well, which I found amazingly efficient and made what I was spending and what was included crystal clear so there was no anxiety about hidden costs. (I also found this place to be INCREDIBLY reasonable in their pricing compared to the other Vets I've gone to in the city). Special shoutout to the tech with the amazing mustache and the woman who administered her IV.... He was down on the floor, with my pup's head in his lap, petting her and saying the sweetest, most reassuring things while the other tech also just gave her such praise that we got some little exhausted tail wags out of her during what couldn't have been a comfortable process. It was just what we both needed in that moment, so thank you both so, so much. I was calm but pretty emotional, and I just felt safe coming here and would 100% come here again if needed, and recommend that anyone facing something like this with their fur baby come here too. The entire experience was quick, efficient, and again.... the kindness and genuine love they showed my baby was all I needed to know to feel comforted during a stressful moment. Happy to report the treatment she received has dramatically improved her condition in just a day, so overall it was a 10/10 experience.

Similar to our previous experience we were greeted the moment we walked in and the vet techs and nurse were so calm and empathetic.
