My husband and I took turns staying with our girl overnight and they went out of their way to set up an area for us to rest. Their communication and ability to listen and empathize but make sure they do their job is incredible. This is a review of their all-encompassing compassion and fantastic customer service abilities in one of the worst times of my life in recent memory. Our cat, Zeke, was exhibiting some signs of being sick earlier in the week by not eating his food or drinking water. On Tuesday before work, he started wobbling when he walked and collapsed. I grabbed him and rushed him over to EVS St. Charles but they were about to close. I was panicking at that point so I drove over to Valley and begged them to please take him in because I didn't think he was going to make it through the day. He was a new patient so while I was waiting for a tech to come get him, they took his information and tried to talk me down. I thanked them profusely and left him in their care until the doctor came in and was able to evaluate him. I got a call a few hours later from Dr. Christakos with terrible news. Zeke had renal failure and his levels were so high that they wouldn't even register on their machine. She recommended that we give him IV fluids and monitor his progress throughout the day. If he needed more observation, we would take him to EVS for an overnight stay. Needless to say, he did not get that much better so we carted him to EVS for an overnight. He showed some improvement by drinking water by himself and using his box, so we took him back to Valley for another day of fluids and trying to get him to eat. Dr. Humphrey called me a little bit after I dropped him off and told me that she was worried about him and recommended one more night of observation and fluids. When we went to pick him up at the end of the day to take him back to EVS, he seemed more alert and we thought that he had a chance. Unfortunately, he had one more overnight stay before we had to say goodbye. I don't know what I would have done if it wasn't for the team at Valley being so patient, kind, and considerate. We've had nothing but bad luck with vets in the past (most of them just did not care and only wanted money) but Valley is really there for both the human and the animal. I am so proud to have them as our vet of choice and I would recommend them to anyone for any pet you have, at any stage of life. I decide to call our vet back home - Valley Animal Hospital. What a difference. The receptionist was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She looked up our records, and suggested a probiotic to help settle our pups stomach. A few days later our pup was back to normal. Really appreciate our vets advice. Saved us a few hundred bucks and a day of running around. Most importantly it got our golden retriever back to health.

Dr. Kelley was so nice and the whole exam was done in the room which is nice, to be able to see everything. She was very thorough and made sure to review Sophie's medical records before prescribing any medications, especially after I mentioned her history. Going to a new vet, I was a little worried about the price but it was not bad. The exam price was on the high side but not unreasonable and everything else seemed very fair so I was actually pleasantly surprised. Sadly I had to take my geriatric cat in for what I thought was renal failure, which didnt make…read moresense as I just had bloodwork done on him 2 weeks ago, which showed he didnt have any kidney issues. Antibiotics seemed to have cleared symptoms of his URI but he was still noticeably going downhill... these guys jumped into action and it was heartening to see an episode of Grey's Anatomy... Animal Hospital, even in this sad occasion. He was paralyzed and could just meow pitifully as it seemed he was cause pain by movement. Macchiatto's ultrasound showed a liver mass and fluid, likely cancer and considering his health conditions and quality of health... the decision, based on survival likelihood and current quality of life, was humane euthanasia. Sedative and then chemical agent while in an incubation pod for warmth with an IV that also carried in these drugs... much better than at a vet where past cats I have held that passed with less peace. It was a good experience for a bad situation and I appreciated the kindness and sympathetic care for Macchi in his last moments.

I have many different thoughts re this business that I've used for my two dogs for at around the…read morelast 8 yrs. 1. Dr. Kumar and Dr. Sunny are pros and good at what they do. They can address emergencies well. Dr. Sunny is extra compassionate as he has taken it upon himself to help my elderly dog with his anal gland expresses, since my dog has a collapsed trachea, and some techs struggle to get the right area. He said to make my appt for my elderly dog when he's there, and he'll try to be one to do it or assist the tech. Dr. Kumar discovered Sammy's collapsed trachea so he's smart. Sometimes, Dr. Kumar pushes for too many interventions, and you end up paying more than you wanted to pay, but his heart is in the right place. I've never had Dr. Fauley as a vet but he does not get high reviews by my dog friends who have visited Care. 2. The techs vary--sometimes amazing, sometimes inept. I think they may employ some temps. 3. The office staff varies--sometimes compassionate and helpful; sometimes mean and sarcastic. I mean sarcastic and sassy to the point a friend of mine stopped going here because of one particular person. 4. Their meds are available online for less, which they will not tell you, so that's kind of odd. As in, Sammy is on Cerenia for his collapsed trachea, but I had to discover that I could buy the meds from THEM online for less than in person. Maybe that will change. Same with heart worm meds--less expensive on their online site. They will not give you a prescription to buy meds online somewhere else like Chewy. 5. Their hours are AMAZING. As in, open late weekdays, open Sat & Sun. I think they're trying to position themselves as both your regular and your emergency vet. 6. Prices are not outlandish, but do tend to be higher than some places. Probably comes with the longer hours, and 7 days a week open. Much less than what you'd pay going to an emergency place, so there's that. Because they do get emergency visits, you may have to wait, so I think they should find a way to warn you, if you have a nonemergency appt, and maybe redirect you to another time/day. 7. My wishes for this place are that they get a bit more with the times in terms of a natural approach to caring for animals. As in a species appropriate raw food diet for dogs is not that strange but neither vet embraces it. Natural vitamins and supplements have been a "thing" for a while, but they are not all that inclusive of those thoughts nor are they resourceful. I handed a list of the natural supplements I give my dogs to Dr. Sunny and he left it on the examination table after our visit. He questioned my use of a raw food dog (Raw Bistro--$80 per 12 patties of Bison--top notch organic raw food). But, at the same time, he mentioned Metamucil for my dog's anal glands. I went for organic flaxseed, instead, which has helped Sammy, so he had a great thought, but why not organic pumpkin and organic flaxseed? Made a difference. Dr. Kumar does recommend some vitamin supplements but seems to have no idea where to get them (as in, you can direct people to Dr. Mercola's dog vitamins or Standard Processing dog vitamins). Using human vitamins is a bit strange. Dr. Sunny mentions Manuka honey as a wound med, but he needs to say where to go (at least mention Whole Foods) I use my dog's Chiropractor, Dr. Erin O'Connor, (Vitality Chiropractic Center) as my natural supplement source of info. and she stocks vitamins. And, it's odd neither vet embraces chiropractic or laser treatment for tissue issues, accident recovery, and old age movement issues. My older dog, despite being 14 and having a collapsed trachea, moves around very well, because he has had chiropractic care every 6 weeks, and Sammy has had it his entire life. It's fairly well known that chiropractic care is very good for animals (and humans) In terms of tooth care, TEEF is all natural and effective, but neither vet embraces that, but instead has some kind of chew they recommend. I guess the pairing of Dr. O'Connor and this practice gives you the best of both worlds. All in all, a good place to bring your pets, especially if you have an emergency.

So we left and headed towards this place The location was easy to find. it is in the same strip as a Jewel and has plenty of parking. Inside, we were greeted right away and seen right away. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we did have to wait a little. However, we were a walk in and those with appointments had priority (which make sense and we understood that part). Eventually, our cat was seen, examined, and got an X-ray. They gave us meds and sent us on our way. Overall, I am appreciative of a place like that. It seems to be popular and the staff was friendly and attentive. We would be back for our future pet needs!
