We stayed at this hotel on our trip to Mallorca last month, and also ate at the on-site restaurant several times. The hotel has a beautiful location on Pollensa Bay, an easy 10-15 minute stroll into Puerto Pollensa along the "pine walk," a tree-lined pedestrian boulevard. That's really the only nice thing I can say about it. They're clearly coasting on their prime location and their reputation as a great, historic hotel (Agatha Christie stayed here numerous times). Unfortunately the service was beyond terrible. We regularly could not get the attention of waiters in the restaurant, and there was often no attendant at the pool to exchange our towel cards. Towel cards are one of my pet peeves, especially at hotels at this price point (it implies guests are going to steal towels, which is insulting at a hotel that charges this much), but if you're going to make your guests use them, at the very least you need to have staff there whenever the pool is open. The food at the onsite restaurant - when we managed to get it - was quite tasty for lunch and dinner. Breakfast (a self-serve buffet) was very mediocre - a large selection but poor quality - and we again had problems getting waiter service for things like coffee. We paid extra for an "ocean view" room, but our room was on the first floor and our view was mostly of the pool immediately below the room. Technically we could see the ocean but this room would be sold as a a cheaper "obstructed ocean view" at most hotels I've stayed at. We also didn't really have any privacy on our balcony due to how close the pool was. read more
