If you are a tourist, a visit to this restaurant is a must. It had the most abundant, fresh…read moreselection of seafood we were able to find near the city center. Walking from the city center to Palma's Military Museum/Fort (~ 1 hour), we found it as the perfect opportunity to dine at La Parada del Mar afterwards for lunch. It was only a 15 minute walk away from the fort and about 20 minutes from Bellver Castle. When you arrive, it can be a bit intimidating as you stand in line to place you order and can catch a glimpse of the seafood choices; they have it all from shellfish, crustaceans, and many types of fish. They also had a simplified bundled menu that included a salad, pastry, drinks, and I believe about five shellfish dishes for about 25 euros per person. Otherwise, you can order a la carte which is what we opted for since we wanted particular items. The host was helpful on explaining our options and he moved so fast but we did not feel rushed. Next you move to the bar area to place your drink orders and then you can find a table with a choice of shaded outdoor or indoor seating options. Then you will need to pay attention for your number to be called and you can pick up your items. They may bring it to you depending on how busy it is. We did not mind the self-service as it got packed quickly and it seemed to allow for efficiency. We also liked how they did not cook all of our selections at once but rather as a few dishes at a time which allowed us to enjoy the seafood while it was still hot. From my description you may think you are doing all the work and left alone with no service but that is not the case. The staff actually paid a lot of attention to the customers and cleared our plates quickly. We felt very well treated as apparent tourists and the service and food was excellent.

Okay you food lovers. Forget your tapas, your pizza ( this is not New York, Chicago, Detroit or…read moreItaly) , you need a top flight seafood experience. And I mean like no where you have ever been. You start by picking your choices fresh on ice. Then you order your wine and sit down at your table. Then the amazing event unfolds. All your items come to the table cooked as best as they could be done in the order they should have come. Forget everything you think was a good food experience, this is it! BTW I'm a food snob from Chicago....

After a recommendation from a random local we met on the street (not a promoter) we went to this…read morerestaurant three times this week. We were not disappointed! The first evening we ordered the sea bass, cooked mallorcan style. The menu said it was for two people, but the dish would easily be enough for three persons. Non the least it was amazing! Second day we ordered paella. For me, this was the first time I eat paella in Spain (have tried it once in Norway, which hardly counts..) and in my opinion it was truly incredible here at the bodega! The waiter recommended a local red wine, Macia Batle from 2010 and it suited perfectly to the paella. The third and last day we ordered tapas. Potatoes with some sort of sauce on, meatballs, garlic shrimps, serrano ham, chorizos and chicken croquettes. If I would remove one dish it would be the chicken. It was okay, but that's all. The serrano ham was heavenly! They have a lot of them air drying in the ceiling in the restaurant and the rest of the interior makes the visit feel like you truly are in Spain, and not in a heavy trafficked tourist village. We got a local red vine to the tapas as well, but I can't remember the name of it. But it was spot on to the tapas, as the wine we got to the paella were. I would highly recommend this restaurant! The food and service is first class. It costs a bit more than the restaurants down on the beach, but you really get true value for the money!

Amazing food! I love it! Menu on many languages, nice service, traditional local food. I recommend…read moreto go:)
