My friend recommended that I go to Megan, who is a gem! Friendly and super easy to talk to, and great with color! First time I went was early 2019, and have been regularly going in for touch ups and cuts ever since. I have thicker hair too, and she has been super patient and detail oriented to make sure the color (mostly light and dark Browns for me) is evenly distributed and looks seamless. Definitely recommend, but as you can probably tell from the other reviews - doesn't exactly come cheap! My tip would be to try it out once, at least, and to treat yourself! Home salons are hard to find, and I'm glad to have tried this one out while I was in Indy!

We did just a hint of this gorgeous red/purple/cherry cola-ish color underneath, and a medium brown to cover up a few of my grays (I mean, a few of my strands of glitter, lol) And then she put a couple long soft layers in (havent had layers like , ever, and was very apprehensive). I think it turned out great. I'm already thinking about how we might up the game next time I go back. :) Pricewise, we came out to $155 (before tip) for the cut & color, which included a $40 conditioning treatment. Not sure if that treatment its somehtign I'll need every time, but it was worth doing this time. Also, Cianna recommend some hair care and products but did not push a hard sell (which was very nice). The salon was pretty busy when I was there (a Friday afternoon) and all the other clients looked like they were getting great cuts/colors as well. Since it was my first time there, I have nothing to compare but I *think* maybe some of the salon was a little under construction - maybe a bit of a remodel, becuase the seating area under the dyers and some of the area area around the washing station was a little cramped (not "spa" feeling) - but based on other reviews about hte atmosphere, I'm guessing this might be temporary. Salon 6 is just north of the main Broad Ripple village off of College Ave. My favorite thing about this salon (other than the haircuts I get) is the overall atmosphere. It has a small boutique vibe that is relaxed and unpretentious. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and offer you a drink of choice while you wait. The waiting area has a little bit of a New Age feel with some beautiful stones and crystals and local artisan jewelry. It immediately feels very relaxing. They have a few complementary add on services you can choose from, and I especially enjoy the Vitamin D lamp in the winter when I'm missing the sunshine. My stylist, Heidi, has given me some of the best haircuts I've ever had, hands down. When I booked my first appointment with her she took the time to talk about what I wanted and ask me questions. After allowing my hair to grow for a couple years and really doing nothing with it, I was looking for a "long shag" cut which I had asked for from other stylists at other salons that never seemed to turn out the way I envisioned it. Lucky for me, Heidi is spectacular at shag cuts and also specializes in razor cuts, which can be difficult to find. I told her I was ready for a change and to go for it and the results were even better than what I had in mind. Since then I've received multiple compliments on my cuts with an added comment "that's the kind of cut I've been wanting and I can't find someone to do it right!" My visits are always pleasant and relaxing. I never feel pressured to chat or make small talk, but when we do it's easy and laid back. I always leave with a fresh cut and style that makes me feel like I just treated myself to something luxurious without the feeling of a stuffy, ostentatious "luxury" salon where everyone leaves with basically the same haircut, color, extensions, etc. Salon 6 not only meets what I'm looking for in a salon experience, but Heidi takes it to the next level with her killer haircuts.

I asked the rep if the frontal was a 13 x 6 and she said "sure" and shrugged as if she wanted to tell me whatever i needed to hear to purchase. Turns out it was a 13 x 4. No need to lie, just be honest when answering a question or say you don't know and find the answer. She was rude and unattentive, but I bought the hair anyway because of the reviews from youtubers i watch whose photos were hanging around the building. Luckily, I had cash on hand when purchasing the first time. I installed the hair into a wig and dyed it jet black and loved it! It was flowy and bouncy and curled really well. Around the beginning of February, i washed my wig and noticed a rediculous amount of shedding. Like severe shedding to the point where after my wig dried, the frontal had bald spots. I followed the directions that said not to brush the frontal but instead to use a wide tooth comb. I thought maybe I applied it incorrectly to my head or sewed it incorrectly, even though I've been making wigs for over 5 years with lace exclusive hair and had no problem. I couldn't wear the wig anymore with the frontal looking that way and immediately took it apart to salvage the bundles. I went straight back to the store and purchased another closure - the same one Brazilian body wave 14 inch. I didn't know it was a cash only location so i went to get cash and came back to purchase. The sales rep this time was very nice and patient. I even met another customer who was purchasing for the first time and asked my opinion and i gave rave reviews aside from the frontal. I hate that I lied to that lady! It was April and I was having the same problem with the frontal. The frontal was balding, and after I washed it, I was certain I wouldn't be able to wear the hair again. The bundles are dry, stuff, and Matt up very easily. No oil, polish, oil sheen, or deep conditioning will bring this hair back to life. I cannot comb this hair without a pile of strands on my floor. I'm constantly sweeping morning and night. My mother is a cosmetologist and she taught me everything she knows, so i know what I'm doing with hair - this mess is not a result of anything I did to it. If i wand curl this hair now, it'll bunch up by the end of the day. The only way it's manageble is to straighten it but even then it tangles at the ends! I give Her Hair Company two stars because it's affordable, but understand you'll get two months maximum out of it. Lace Exclusive is the best way to go, order from them. They're based in New Orleans, have fast shipping, a little more expensive, but I still have curly bundles I bought from them over 3 years ago that look better than this 3 month old body wave hair from Her Hair Company.

I ordered 4 kinky straight bundles, and while I love the texture, everything else about it is awful. It tangles very easily, the shedding is completely awful and it will not hold any kind of curl. I can't even wear light colored clothes b/c I'm embarrassed by the amount of hair that's everywhere! I'm constantly vacuuming my home and my car b/c of the shedding. I've done perm rods and flexi rods immediately following wand curling to see if that would hold since doing any one of these things along did not work. That didn't work either. I've emailed the company directly and hopefully they will do something to make it right b/c this has been a very disappointing experience and a complete waste of my money.
