- Locale Destination -
It's on Calle S Rocco and Salizada S Rocco in Venice, Italy. It's really tucked away.
Ambiance: elegant, chic
Menu: modern take on progressive Italian cuisine. More refined, yet still Italian. But I'm bit surprised we could find like this in so traditional town. Good drink selections, too.
Price : €20-26, one item was like €46 or something (Wagyu maybe). Very reasonable but more expensive side locally.
Service: very warm, friendly
- Gluttony Expedition -
Lunch time was cafe - first time we visited.
Cappuccino: decent.
Cake: ok, a bit dry.
Dinner is a serious fancy deal. RSVP required.
Wine; great selections and cheap by the glass.
*** 1st dinner ***
Octopus amuse bush: light, tasty
Seafood appetizer: light, fresh, could be a bit more acidity or seasoning.
Tomato soup: cold, well seasoned, well composed dish.
Grilled octopus: bomb - cooked for perfection. Seasoned well.
Langoustine raviolis: great sauce, great taste, light. Octopus was better.
Amberjack wrapped w cabbage: cabbage were crispy and didn't look like cabbage. Brilliant.
Custard cream: interesting. Cookies were crispy and good. Custard was a bit soupy.
Honey lavender brûlée: bomb. Great flavor, custard was a lot lighter than usual, more like panna cotta. Elegant.
*** 2nd dinner ***
Fresh egg pasta Tortelli, stuffed w lamb, thyme, tomato and mint: light, hint of mint makes it even refreshing. Good.
Grilled Scallops: good
Steak for 2: I thought it was a bit chewy. Not impressed. Grilled vegetables were good.
Tiramisu: deconstructed version. Light, refreshing, interesting.
- Conqueror's Deduction -
€20-26 per dish: bit more expensive than usual, but lot cheaper than US. Make sure to RSVP for dinner.
Very modern, progressive Italian food. Adventurous compared to the usual here. Not for tourists. Lots of wow moments - they really make things uniquely tasty and keep it light.
