Pasta was al dente to perfection. It left a great footprint on my memory. The second time coming was today. 9 years later. Thousand more Yelp reviews under this restaurant's belt. Sometimes it's true they say don't try to relive nostalgia. In some ways I'd agree. It was much busier this time but we were able to be seated & served promptly. The food didn't hit as hard but the fries stayed the winner. Thank you Za Za

We found Trattoria Za Za, but could not get reservations. We showed up with 60 people waiting in line like us. The line moved quickly and we were seated in a glass enclosure with nice views. The menu is vast and the food flying out of the kitchen looked amazing. An appetizer of lightly battered squash blossoms was unique and enjoyed by all. Our first choice was the green peppercorns and Cognac cream covering a steak with rosemary potatoes. This was the best dishes of our 17 day excursion. The steak was perfect while the sauce was incredibly delicious. The steak with argula salad was our second choice. It was also savory and highly recommended. The setting here is great, amazing food, good value and a truly relaxed environment. If you are in Florence, please treat yourself to a fine meal at Trattoria Za Za for that special evening. To the establishment, great restaurant and we will return. Congrats on a beautiful evening.

I am mainly writing this review to encourage all my fellow celiacs/gluten intolerants to go here, get into the chest freezer right by the entrance, and grab the pain au chocolat (chocolate crossiant). They have amazing croissants and little pies and cookies stuffed with Nutella. They also have slices of pizza and appetizer-like food that they can heat up in a toaster oven, however I would stick to the baked goods because you can get really good gluten free pizza, calzones and pasta at multiple restaurants within a few blocks of this bakery. They also sell bread and whole cakes but we only sampled 4 of their baked goods. It's a relief to have so many options when visiting a new city. If you're looking to save money by stocking up your hotel or apartment with breakfast foods, this is a great place to go. It was surprising how inexpensive the items were compared to what we pay for the luxury of a gluten free muffin in the U.S. There were GF donuts listed on the website, but we didn't see any in the afternoon, so my advice would be to stop by early if you want the opportunity to choose from everything this lovely bakery makes.

Every dish arrived perfectly prepared, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. We started with the tomato bruschetta and the Caprese salad with creamy burrata and ripe tomatoes--both were fresh, vibrant, and perfect for a warm summer evening. The prosciutto was sliced paper-thin, beautifully flavorful without being overly salty. The fried zucchini blossoms were light, crisp, and delicately fluffy. For my main course, I had the homemade pici pasta with sausage and kale ragù, and it was absolutely outstanding. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the rich, savory ragù was full of flavor. The children ordered pasta with pesto sauce which they said was delicious and exactly the way they like it. Others in our group couldn't stop talking about their steaks, which were cooked to perfection and received rave reviews all around. The Chianti Classico was the perfect wine for our evening. It's not easy to deliver an exceptional dining experience for a group of 23, but L'Osteria di Gianni did exactly that. Delicious food, attentive service, and flawless execution made for a memorable evening. I would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Florence.

Our first night in Florence, we found this restaurant and it was by far the best meal I had in all of Italy, just looking at these photos again makes my mouth water and I'd go back in a minute, if I can. This delicious ribeye steak was more rare than medium rare, but the flavor was truly outstanding. Even the accompaniment of the potatoes were crisp and delicious. It's a beautiful restaurant with wonderful service and excellent food and highly recommended!
