Food just ok - extra kudos to the host
We visited Scavi Di Pompei that day and looked for a parking lot. The host/owner of this place offered us a parking space in front of his place right in the cool shade (good, because we are travelling with our dog). We knew of course that we will eat and drink a little something when we come back - there was no push or anything about that, but just something that was clear for us. So we left for the Pompei Ruins and the host kept feeding the parking meter for us...cool thing, so we didn't have to look at the time and just enjoy Pompei.
After the visit we took a table outside in the shade, our dog was welcome as well. We had two beer, a plate of Linguine allo scoglio (seafood pasta) and a tuna/tomato salad with beans. Staff brought some water for our dog.
Pasta was ok, not as fresh as other meals we had on this trip before. The Tuna salad on the other hand was very good. Fresh, light and tasty. Great choice for a hot day. All in all a fair meal for a fair price.
It's not the greatest place to eat, but the owner/host is a really nice guy and the location right next to the ruins is great. So we were quite happy with it. read more
