I didn't think Italian food could get any better but this place blew my mind. Everything was delicious, fresh and prices were fair. Seems to be a super popular spot so make sure to book reservations in advance. If there's one restaurant you need to visit in Venice, it's here.

This place is incredible. If you would like an authentic Italian experience, come here as it does not disappoint. Paradiso Perduto is a casual trattoria and is very lively, with live music and people singing. It seemed everyone in the venue (customers and servers alike) was happy. The vibe was amazing and felt so genuine. Because we had reservations they seated us right away. The service was great - the food came quickly, and the waitress was attentive and kind. The food was incredible; the seafood was so so fresh and tasty. We got mussels and pasta with crawfish. On top of the delicious food, the prices were reasonable. 1 litre of house wine was 12 euros! I would have eaten here two nights in a row, if I was able to get a reservation for the second night. 100% recommended.

    Seafood platter: Amazing

Wow! Wow! Amazing! Best food we've had in Venice to date (over 3 multi-day visits over several years) The seafood platter was out of this world amazing! The seafood platter which set us back 45 Euros had more than enough food for 2 adults. We weren't sure if we had to order another item since it was under the antipasti section. The server assured us that there were plenty of food included in the platter for 2 and additional food would be over- the-top too much: she was right. Every item was prepared to perfection. The house white wine paired well with the platter. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Here again for the a second night. We ordered the grilled fish platter: also amazing. The platter included 5 different whole grilled fish. Each first had a distinct taste and texture. The seaweed served with the platter was very interesting and flavorful. The tiramisu was also amazing. Must try restaurant in Venezia in my humble opinion.

The best restaurant out of all the restaurants I ate at in Italy! The seafood was fresh and flavorful. The menu was entirely in Italian, which made it difficult to navigate, but the waiter was really friendly and helped us order. We ordered the seafood platter, spaghetti with clams, fried seafood, fish with potatoes tomatoes olives and arugula, grilled squid, and aperol spritz. I don't know the exact names of the dish since they were in Italian. My favorite was the seafood platter of fried seafood. My least favorite was the grilled squid. Overall, they were all pretty good. The seafood platter was well balanced with the combination of vegetables and seafood. Normally, at other restaurants, there was fewer variety for the seafood platter. The fried seafood was seasoned perfectly. The fish was really tender and paired really well with the vegetables. The grilled squid was a bit charred. And the aperol spritz was a bit stronger than other aperol spritz I've had in the past. The service was good for such a busy restaurant. We sat outside along the canal and loved it. Surprisingly, there weren't many mosquitoes when we were sitting. Really great restaurant with great food. I'd love to come back and try more items on the menu!

Paradiso Perduto is a casual tavern serving both locals and tourists in a super lively setting! The daily menu is in Italian only (a good sign in touristy Venice), and the bar featured a bunch of prepared cichetti (small bites). The dish to order is the Antipasto Paradiso Perduto, a huge sampler plate of nearly all of their prepared seafood and vegetable antipasti! The plate itself was a feast for the eyes and came with so many different items. The vegetables included carrots, green beans, tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, cucumbers, onions, and peppers, all soaked in olive oil and seasoned with herbs. The selection of seafood was likewise immense and featured at least three different types of shrimp, several different types of squid, scallops, salmon, octopus, baby octopus, razor clams, breaded calamari, three different types of small fish/sardines, and baccala mantecato (a whipped cod paste). It was hard to pick a favorite component, but I especially enjoyed the head-on shrimp and the breaded calamari. Everything went nicely with the basket of bread on the side and a drink, and the variety of flavors and textures danced on the palate! Though the atmosphere was on the loud side, the service here was super friendly, and everything came at a good value too!

Bookmark it and call in your reservation as soon as possible! I never win contests, but getting a table here must be what it feels like. People even ordered takeaway and dined along the floor outside by the canal. The atmosphere is fun and the food is great! Don't get too comfortable because there's literally signs of names and back-to-back times at each table for reservations. It looked like they accommodate two parties and Monday's later option had live music. Of course, we ordered the gorgeous seafood platter to share. The platters are unique if you look close enough at the pictures. A work of art, if you will. Ours had tiny shrimp, plenty of sardines, and stuffed tomatoes. I also tasted the aperol spritz and our friendly neighbors had the fresh cacio e pepe prepared with a giant cheese wheel tableside. A feast for the eyes! The manager and waiter were both friendly. Just a note, our table was further in the back near the cooking action. So it warmed up substantially!

This was my first stop in Venice after my long flight from Florida, and I was really looking forward to be wow'd by the fresh seafood pasta and seafood platter (high expectations set by my fellow helpers!). I made a reservation in advance by phone, and they do have two seatings each evening. Either 7pm or 9:30pm. We arrived at 7am, and we were seated earlier than our reservation. The food was amazing! The four of us ordered an appetizer seafood platter and a seafood pasta to start as we waited for one more traveler to join us. The servings were huge! There's also a fish platter that we saw other tables around us order and we wished we saved room for. The next time we return to Venice, we will be sure to make another visit! Ciao :)

If you want to experience authentic Venetian cuisine elbow to elbow with locals this is it. Our B&B host who's thoroughly Venetian for generations and proud of it recommended this place to us. You need to get a reservation as much as you can, we went in and made a reservation for the next day and came in. We saw people waiting quite a long time and some even giving up which is a shame. It's not difficult to get a reservation, and they're pretty friendly so definitely try! We got here exactly on time and were seated immediately. We wanted to try as many things as possible so got the huge appetizer platter plus one pasta dish. For pasta, share one per two people, their portions are huge!! The appetizer plate was massive and was absolutely packed! Potatoes, stuffed tomatoes, grilled egg plant, grilled zucchini, carrots, green beans and mushrooms, mussels, squid, shrimp, clams, sardines and another smaller local red fish, and a few more items. We also got a seafood pasta which was soo good, cooked perfectly al dente and came with an entire beautiful crab shell. Service was functional, albeit slightly slow but it was freakin packed. Would highly recommend, go in with an open mind though you're not going to find cheeseburgers or spaghetti and meatballs, you're going to get real Venetian food. If you're not open, go hit up a McDonalds.

Just stopping here to say that, 3 days in Venice and this place was always packed. I didn't eat here because of my lack of planning but it does look pretty damn good.

Literally the best seafood I had while I was in Italy. This came highly recommended by a Venetian friend, but I can see the internet has also spoken given the numerous reviews. And here I am adding another one to the mountain, go figure. The place was a bumpin' when my friends and I visited. All the tables, and yes even the bar, were fully reserved with name tags taped to every fixture. So be sure to call ahead and reserve at least the day before! Right away when you enter, you see all these platters of assorted seafood. Everything we had was so fresh and lovely. The waiter was super nice in helping us navigate in-Italian-only menu (which may be a bit intimidating at the beginning) and explaining the dishes. For a party of 6, we ordered paradiso perduto platter to share. There was an assortment of everything from fish and grilled eggplants to large shrimp (talk about oxymoron!). The seafood was so fresh. The shrimps didn't stick to the shell. The fried seafood was super crispy. The name of the restaurant is called paradiso perduto for a reason. Don't skip out on the bomb dot com antipasto. For our mains, some plates we tried were pasta with nero di seppia (squid ink), with vongole di mer (the mussels and seasoning for the sauce were spot on), and the star of the show was the pasta with cacio e pepe. The cacio e pepe was made at table side. The hostess wheels out this giant wheel of cheese with a depression in it. The noodles are placed directly into cheese and slowly mixed so that the cheese combines with the noodles and fresh black pepper. Aside from the amusement of everyone around us with photo taking excitement, the dish was super creamy, fragrant, and the pasta was the perfect al dente. We also ordered a little of house wine. Because when in Italy, you do not hesitate on the lovely, but still light-on-the-pocket-book red and white wines. When we finished, everyone had a smile on their faces. This restaurant was the perfect meal to end a day island hopping around the Venetian coast. So if you see that aesthetic mosaic, fresco sign with the blue background and a smiling sun proclaiming 'II paradiso perduto', do not even hesitate on what your next dinner meal should be. P. S. They have an adorable cat who roams free and likes ear scratches. A cat in a seafood restaurant? A good life that one.

Venezia is an expensive city, full of tourist traps, but among the mess and clutter: Paradise!!!!! This place is amazing, delicious and reasonably priced, the staff is very friendly and accommodating despite the hustle and bustle. No, seriously, this place is a paradise, but make sure you either show up early or make reservations.

This place is great if you like seafood. We were there early (7 pm) a Sunday evening and just got in without a reservation. 3 Of us shared a grilled fish platter that was great and some pasta cooked in a Parmesan rind. Unbelievably delicious.

We discovered this place on our first day in Venice on Saturday. There was a long line and we did not make the waitlist for lunch. We got there at 1:40 pm today and was seated immediately. We opt to try the seafood/veggie platter for two and the pasta. 1. Seafood platter looked beautiful with grilled shrimps - which was over cooked. The rest of the food was only mediocre. This looks like the most popular dish as almost every table around us ordered it. 2. The pasta was very plain even with the cheese and too much pepper for our taste. We were very disappointed because the guy prepares this dish in front of the table and many people had ordered it. There are other restaurants that we tried that had better quality food.

For dinner in peak season, try to make a reservation as the restaurant is very small. We arrived before our reservation time and were seated immediately inside and greeted warmly by the restaurant owner. We ordered a bottle of wine to start (most under 20 Euros for a 75 ML bottle). For appetizers we ordered the cheese with honey for 13 Euros, absolutely amazing! We also combined this with the local olive oil and fresh bread brought to the table to start as well. For our second course we chose two pastas, the Penne Alla Amatriciana (I think it was around 12 Euros), and the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara (I think it was around 12 Euros as well). Both had extremely fresh homemade ingredients and were out of this world and extreme attention to care in the preparation. For our entree we split the breaded pork chop (I think it was around 20 Euros), including a side of potatoes (similar to the steak fries that you would see in the U.S.) The service was absolutely amazing and we loved dining alongside the owner and his family and meeting the cat that also lives at the restaurant and comes by to greet you during the meal as well. It truly was like you were dining at the home of the owner and is a must try if you are in Venice!

The cichetti selection looked very good (variety thinned out throughout the night), but our party of 3 was starving and we opted to sit inside for a late ~8:30pm dinner. We got one order of grilled lamb and the Lombatello steak for 2. The lamb was also good, no gamey taste. The Lombatello steak was simply fantastic, choose this cut specifically!! A heaping pile of medium-rare meat (cannot buy single portions) that was very tender and flavorful. It's cushioned with steak fries and grilled veggies on the side. Paired with two glasses of house wine, this meal was fantastic. Ended up with a to go box of steak and fries.
