My boyfriend and I were driving around looking for a new restaurant to try out when we came across this place. We decided to do the Prix Fixe Menu - $28 per person. I ordered: - Caesar Salad - Steak - Creme Brûlée Everything I ordered was delicious. The salad was fresh, and the portion size was good for an appetizer. For my entree I ordered the steak, which was AMAZING. It was juicy, tasty and huge. For desert I chose the creme brûlée. It was so yummy, one of the best I've had. My bf ordered: - Mussels - Linguine - Crepe The mussels are served in a spicy tomato sauce, but they were really fresh and tasty. The linguine was also very good. The crepe was the perfect, not too sweet either. This place really is a hidden gem. The inside of this restaurant is cozy but still very nice. The menu has quite a few options to choose from, and the food is definitely made with love. The prices are very reasonable. The service here is good, and the staff are friendly. Driving up my sister said "questionable area " lol But the parking lot was filled and we found parking at the. We arrived on a Friday, just past 8PM and the restaurant was empty so we got seated right away. The server brought out some bread with butter and water. I love how he didn't ask us whether we wanted anything to drink and just brought the water. Food The bread with butter was nice to munch on while waiting for the food, because we were starving. I got the linguini con gamberi, which consisted of shrimp, roasted red peppers, asparagus and basil in a cream pesto sauce. The portion size is huge! I couldn't finish my meal in one sitting and my leftovers were almost good enough for another meal. The pasta was absolutely delicious, creamy and I really enjoyed it. It's lovely place off of Kingston road, the waitstaff are friendly and the overall atmosphere is comfortable. Music is quiet and calm which sets the atmosphere. I had a soup of the day and a linguine pescatore (seafood). The soup was a nice bisque, balanced flavour and well seasoned. The pasta had a nice sauce, a bit runny, with mussels, octopus and shrimp. The mussels were probably the weaker of the 3, but overall the dish was nice. Pasta noodles themselves were good. Overall a good time, a bit expensive, but it's worth checking out. read more

These are some of my favorites.... the "Funghi" pizza is to die for - thin, crispy crust with truffle oil drizzled over generous toppings of mushrooms, sundried tomato, bacon, fresh arugula, bocconcini, and mozzarella. The juicy oven baked "Filet of Salmon" entree is topped with mandarin orange and dill lemon butter and Cajun spices, served with grilled vegetables and a balsamic reduction. For dessert, the "Italian style funnel cake fries" is so decadent. Yummy crispy deep fried strips of dough topped with cinnamon sugar, chocolate and English toffee sauce and two scoops of creamy vanilla ice cream. Came here for dinner with the girlfriend last night. She ordered a veal chop with smashes potatoes and vegetables. I got a linguini buongusto ( consisting cream sauce, grilled mushrooms and chicken). The veal chop was very tender and juicy, grilled to perfection. Very flavourfull. The linguini was made traditional Italian style. Flavour was very well balanced, I dislike a heaping amounts if heavy cream you find in a sauce from a lot of American - Italian restaurants. This wasn't the case here. If you like something overpowering this isn't for you. If you like to enjoy your food slowly as you mentaly analyze it, you're in for a treat. We also got a bottle of a medium bodied Italian wine, the name escapes me right now. Which just made the food even more enjoyable. The staff was very knowledgeable and hospitable. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very laid back and intimate. Suited for both intimate or group outings. It would be my pleasure comigg back here for dinner. read more

I used to visit this large room when it was another restaurant. The space has been updated and has a chic appearance. The menu is varied but the lunch selections are too limited. The wine list was reasonable and average prices. I thought that the food was somewhat overpriced and the quality didn't quite warrant. Lunch for two, with one small glass of wine and dessert was close to $80.00 with tip. Although the food was tasty and nicely prepared and presented, it's not a spot I'll return to regularly, cost being a factor. read more

We were trying new Italian restaurants and chose this restaurant because it was close to us. It is in a little strip mall, nothing outstanding on the outside and quite basic when we walked in. It wasn't crowded so we were a little concerned as this was a Saturday night around 6:15pm. We sat at our table and a lovely man came over and he was our waiter, I'm sorry I can't remember his name. He took great care of us for the evening. The wine selection is limited but adequate. Then we chose our meals and we were hoping for the best, but we were so pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the portions were generous enough that we brought home leftovers. We had bruschetta for the table, then my daughter and I shared a goat cheese salad, and we both ordered the mushroom truffle risotto and we couldn't stop moaning about how good it was. (I hate when I moan over food, but couldn't help myself.) My husband had the mussels and eventhough they were quite small, he really enjoyed the taste. He then ate a seafood pasta and loved it. My friend ordered the gnocchi and enjoyed it as well. We had the creme caramel crepe which was light and absolutely wonderful. The prices are reasonable and I highly recommend trying this wonderful gem of a find. We will definitely be back there soon. read more

2 friends and I went to "il Fresco" for dinner tonight and we were disgusted. The waiter was hovering over us to order and made us feel rushed. Never had that happen in a restaurant before. One of my friends was undecided as to what to order and the waiter was very overbarring. Kept coming over literally every 2 minutes or less asking if he was ready to order. The place only had one other table with people that were there when we entered, so why were we being rushed? We didn't understand. Then the waiter stood over us for a while waiting for my friends order when we had already told the waiter he's not ready yet!! When I ordered the steak & shrimp, the waiter started to take my friends order without asking me how I wanted my steak cooked, I had to tell him. When my steak & shrimp came, it smelt bad and tasted like it was going bad, I'm not exaggerating. It had no flavor what-so-ever! No moisture, no flavor. The steak was rare and bleeding on one end, well done the other end, burnt in many spots and I ordered medium-well. When I brought this to the waiters attention he responded "I told them medium-well, I assure you I told them that" and then he walked away. I had to ask for salt to make it eatable and couldn't finish it!! I took the rest home for investigation! Honestly, the 4 shrimps were cold (on top of hot meat) and tasted horrible. I was hoping that each one I ate would taste better than the one before but they were all horrible. One of my friends ordered apple chicken and the chicken breast was not fully cooked. My other friend ordered sicillian pizza. It was served with several black spots from being burnt. Not something you expect from an Italian restaurant!! As the waiter cleared the table, which he done as we chewed our last bite, he asked if we were having anything else. Once we said no, it seemed as though we didn't matter to him anymore. This was very disappointing as we spent quite a bit of money for dinner. The bill was $73 dollars and I really didn't want to pay that much money for food that tasted horrible and the customer service was worse. I really wish I was the type of person to complain and refuse to pay for such bad food and service because I am so made that I WASTED $73!! I will NEVER eat at this restaurant again and will tell all my friends and people I know NOT to go there!!!!! read more

My whole family love this place, it's a great addition to the area. Both food and service are outstanding. We come here about twice a month and usually try something different. The spinach and pear salad is delicious. Their antipasto platter is big and has a good variety of cold cuts, cheese and salad. We usually order a plain (pepperoni and cheese)pizza for the kids and they love it too. The parking can get a bit busy, but you could park at the back of the plaza or across the street. First visit: really enjoyed the ravioli special (chicken, spinach, red cream sauce). Ravioli dough as good as my Maltese nunna used to make--can't get better than that! Sauce was perfect--not gluey like a certain other Italian pizzeria on Old Kingston Rd. Generous portions; attentive service. Husband thought his pizza was very good. Dinner for two with appetizer, dessert, tax and 20% tip $77. Site of now defunct Thai Indeed (much missed!). Happy that the new restaurant seems a good replacement.
