I've been on the hunt for a good hairstylist in Orange County for a while now, and I'm so glad I finally found one thanks to a coworker whose hair I complimented at work. She looked amazing, and when I asked where she got her hair done, she recommended this salon. I figured it was time to cut off all my dead ends, so I gave them a call. I called in the afternoon and was able to get a same-day appointment at 5 p.m. with Loan. Super convenient! When I arrived, the salon had a warm, welcoming vibe. There were about 6 chairs, and a couple of other clients were still getting their hair done. It was a nice, relaxed environment. Loan greeted me right away and was incredibly friendly. She took the time to ask what I wanted and really listened when I explained that I was looking for layers and wanted to trim off about three inches. She was so thorough and made sure I was comfortable the whole time, reassuring me that I'd leave happy with my haircut. We started with a relaxing hair wash and conditioning, which already made me feel pampered. Then she got to work cutting and layering my hair, thinning it out just enough to give it movement without losing volume. She finished it off with a blow dry and style, and wow, my hair felt so soft and light! I seriously loved the final look. One of my favorite parts? She even helped me take a before and after picture (yes, she's that thoughtful!). Also, I really appreciated that they were open later, it made it easy to fit into my work schedule. My 86 year old mother-in-law just visited over the Thanksgiving holiday for a couple weeks and wanted to get her hair set at the last minute and iKutz Salon was so accommodating and treated her wonderfully! She absolutely loved her hair that she was so bummed when she finally had to wash it days later. However, she wound up making another appointment a few days before she had to go back because they made her feel so fabulous! Again they fit her in at the last minute and with styling talents had her looking and "feeling" like beautiful woman. I have been going here for over 7 years and have only received fantastic haircuts every time, with the friendliest service and a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended. Always call in advance to make an appointment, because they get busy and the team members respect having a balanced schedule throughout the day. I've been getting my hair cut here over four years and have had most of the ladies cut my hair. They are all great!

Clean place , they are really hard workers , I love how my haircut came out , and their prices are affordable for everybody.

I usually come to this place because theyre really good but the service and treatment i recieved shocked me. I called in to make an appointment to bleach, color and cut my hair. I made this clear over the phone. I came in at my appointment time and they made me wait 30 mins so the hair stylist could finish up her previous client which I did happily because I work in the service industry and im a easy going customer. I come in and tell the lady i made a appointment for color and cut. The lady proceeds to show me to get my hair washed and afterwards asks if all i wanted was a cut. I told her that i wanted to go copper and get a haircut. She laughed at this in disbelief and said I shouldve told her beforehand as it wouldve been easier. Which confuses me because im the customer and told her what i wanted over the phone and she didnt ask me about before she did anything. She was very comforting after and said its no problem and we can do it afterwards which was a relief. She told the other lady working there about my requests for a bleach and cut. The other lady didnt seem to happy about it and asked which color and brought out the hair coloring book. I showed which color i wanted and she paced back and forth and seemed to not want to do it. She eventually said $250 for 4 hours which i was prepared to do beforehand since i knew what i wanted but the vibe they gave off was not it. I was thinking about it and the lady cutting my hair was in my ear egging me on to just "think about it" and maybe "come back next time to do it" over and over. I opted to not do it because clearly they didnt want me to and i also did not enjoy how i was being treated. It seemed as if my requests for my appointment were an inconvenience. I have had my fair share of salon appointments and this is by far my worst one. I felt like an inconvenience and unwelcomed. The lady i had the appointment with didnt even finish blow drying my hair because she had another appointment. Which was ironic since she made me wait 30 minutes for my appointment. She passed me along to her colleague. She gave me a "discount" of a haircut for short instead of long. Woopy doo. As a good samaritan, i always tip nice. I gave her $10 on the $45 check which i now regret and shouldve tipped $0 for how i was treated. But I digress. I am never coming back to this place ever again. I wish i couldve got names but "my" hairstylist who couldnt even finish me up had short hair and had a bob and the other lady who did seem to want to dye my hair had longer brown with highlights. This was on 6/3/2025 at noon. If a client makes an appointment and tells u exactly what they want, dont be surprised when they show up expecting what they asked for. read more

Love the ladies there, they are super sweet and she asked me questions abt what I wanted for my style. I showed 2 pictures from Pinterest, one of the front and back, and she got it perfect! I mentioned how I still want to be able to put my front pieces/ bangs in a ponytail or behind my ear but noticeably shorter than the rest of my hair for layers and I am just so in love with my hair. She curled it super duper cute and I got so many compliments at work/ the rest of the day. My hair is definitely part of my confidence and this salon literally gave me that confidence T^T I super recommend and will get my hair colored in the future because I love the picture of the chunky highlights on yelp and want similar! My friend and I went to this salon without an appointment and we were seated within the first couple minutes. I showed the hair dresser the hair cut I wanted it and it turned out just like it. She cut and blow dried for $30 +tip. (It was basically an inch trim) My friend said that the hair dresser who helped her did cut her hair a little shorted than expected. This review is all about Lily. This professional helped me solve a difficult hair problem and I left her chair Very Satisfied . I am here from out of town and in a situation where I was unable to do my usual home henna treatment to color my hair. After 2 months here I had wide white roots and unflattering shades of red taking over. I have used henna for about 12 years and had heard you have to really know what you are doing to try regular dye over hennaed hair. I found a review here that said Lily could fix this issue--I looked everywhere in Orange County for someone who wanted to work on my hair and only found Lily, I sent her pictures and then came to Costa Mesa for a consultation. She seemed to know her craft so I nervously agreed and made my appointment. I'd never had my hair colored in a salon. What I liked most about her: she did not oversell her skills yet she had faith in her abilities. In a very professional way she considered and measured every step she took and did it slowly and thoroughly. She washed and washed and treated my hair with several shampoos and treatments. She understood how to get it done right and she was patient with my lack of confidence in what was happening. I was wrong to question her because the color result , coupled with the great haircut she gave me, blew away ALL my doubts . She was quiet and methodical and had an eye for the finished effect--I'm very grateful that she worked with this nervous person, me, and did her job so brilliantly. I love it when a competent person turns every problem around, turns anxiety into celebration. I received a haircut that I did not like, and my hair stylist kept criticizing my head shape in Vietnamese to my partner, saying it was hard to cut and weirdly shaped. She also would not let me put on my glasses to see the progress, which ended up being a pretty big disappointment. Definitely would not recommend due to both the result and the service. read more

I tried this place once about a year ago and the girl who got me listened to what i said and was very careful. Came again today and I was extremely disappointed. She asked what I wanted and the first thing out of my mouth was "I want to keep it as long as I can. Just a TRIM." She said "one inch is okay?" and showed me with her hands 1 inch. I said yes, that's fine. After the cut, I realize not only did she cut off about 3 inches, every piece of hair is a different length. I did not ask for layers. This is the worst haircut I have had in my life and I have had many. As much as I want to fix it, it is already too short. Picture in the pink shirt is how long my hair was before. The first time I got it done at another salon they used cheap, damaging products but Lily used good quality products that didn't damage my hair and charged a lower price than most salons!! This review is mainly for my eyebrows. I've had bad experiences with hair dressers but never before with my eyebrows. Why offer to clean up someone's eyebrows if you do not know how to? Any woman knows how important their eyebrows are, your face is the first thing someone sees. Unfortunately for me, I now for the first time in my life have to draw in my eyebrows because the middle of my brow is now missing. I'm human, and I'm a reasonable person. I understand that people make mistakes. She tried to hide my eyebrows with my own bangs. Are you kidding me? -__- If you were honest and told me that you made a mistake and maybe made up for it by saying "Im sorry, let me show you how you can fill them in to make it less noticeable until it grows back" I wouldn't be near as upset as I am right now and will be for the next few weeks until this bald spot is gone.
