I like the store and most of the products (Though shame on you IKEA for removing the Ektorp line from North America and replacing it with the inferior Uppland line, yet continue carrying it overseas.) however their delivery vendors need better vetting. I have had extremely bad experiences twice - once in 2016 and now in December 2025. In 2016, I was given a delivery window and they did not show. I allowed a two hour grace period because I lived in Fredericksburg and IYKYK. But at hour four, I started looking for ways to contact the vendor. Back then, you could call customer service and get them to call the vendor and have them call you. The vendor called and said delivery was attempted but they could not locate the residence and I did not answer when they called. Not true. If you ever have waited for something like a scheduled delivery or service call, YOU SIT BY YOUR PHONE, RIGHT??? No missed calls. I asked to speak to the driver who then said they would have left it out front, but it did not look like a good area. In front of what? If the could not find it, how would they know what the area looked like. I sent photos of my street to show the management my side of the argument- they should have been able to locate it. Especially since I described the location in detail in delivery instructions along with my phone number if they had questions. My delivery fee was not returned and I declined redelivery. I went to IKEA in three trips and 50 year old, 5ft , girly me with no coordination and even less upper body strength dragged in two dressers, a cabinet, two bookcases, and a desk. Fast forward (or not) to today. My delivery window was 8-12. At 1:30 I tracked the delivery through the app, but all it gave me was the time window. It did give me the option to text the driver. I chose the custom text option (you can choose to have the driver call you or send them a custom text) and texted them to please let me know when they'd be arriving. At 1:45, chose the call me option. At 2:00, I texted, "CONTACT ME BY 2:15 TO TELL ME WHEN YOU WILL BE HERE OR THE TIP THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN CUT IN HALF WILL BE ZERO!" At 2:30, I get a text saying, "Sorry for the delay. On my way." I asked "When?" Thirty minutes later he texts back between 4-5 - when I can't be home. So he will have to leave it outside the garage and I'll get to drag it in then unbox and move pieces in bit by bit. I understand that things run behind (thus the two hour buffer). But if you can't deliver until 4 or 5pm (It's the DC Metro area...Vaya con Dios) then DON'T SAY BETWEEN 8am-12pm. If you can, order online and go pick it up at the order pick up queue. First of all, the store is more confusing than the Pentagon to navigate but I found a store clerk who took the time to walk me directly where I needed to go. Then another one in the section greeted me immediately and asked to help and walked me through designing a closet organizer I needed on the computer. After fueling up on meatballs and lingonberry goodness, my friends and I spent like 4 hours in the showroom which is crazy. Came by Ikea to check out their selections of kitchenware and household items. I walked through the showroom after many years of not paying attention to their selections. Boy was I shocked by the price increases. The quality and styles of the items are reminiscent of what i bought 15 plus years ago but the prices have drastically increased. I don't think the prices reflect the quality. Unfortunately I'll stick to the household items and kitchenware here only. I highly recommend getting the ice cream...so creamy and delish! read more

Pretty good furniture! I have some pieces like desks and nightstands that have lasted me 15+ years with daily use, but other things like sofas feel cheap and poorly made. The show rooms are cute, but the best thing here is their frozen yogurt! It's sooooo good. It's sweet, ultra-creamy, and rich. It tastes better than traditional vanilla soft serve. I would eat some everyday if I could! Can't wait to come back and try their other food court items. read more

Came to this IKEA rather than the College Park one because we were shopping nearby and it seemed more convenient. Will not try again. Our trip started with a coffee fill at the exit cafe, where we picked up some soft serve ice cream (it was hot okay), a cinnamon roll, and a coffee. I should've known something was amiss when most of the fridges were turned off, the shelves completely empty, and the ready-to-eat food looked sad and lonely (unappetizing). But hey, it's just coffee right? Hahaha no. The service was fine. But the coffee was just slightly yellow water. It looks like when the intern makes a pot of coffee and forgets to change the filter and add new grounds. It tastes like bean water (note: not coffee). So given that the point of buying coffee is to drink coffee, I took the cup and showed the girl who works there, who flagged another girl, and she informed me that it looks fine. That's how coffee looks. Uhh... So I figured maybe she doesn't drink coffee or maybe she has a preference for weak coffee so I pointed out that this is not what coffee is like at other Ikeas. She informed me that they are all making it wrong! They put too much ground coffee in the filter and that's why it's a darker color! ...wow. So I did the sensible thing and let this person also named Jessica be and went upstairs and tested the coffee in the cafeteria which was real coffee. Thanks Jessica for trying to gaslight me on what coffee is and isn't. The store itself was missing a lot of things (not available for pickup despite being in their showroom). The marketplace simply didn't have half the things we had expected to be able to pickup based on the showroom selection (will buy online instead, I guess). The warehouse had put things that are the same product, but different color, in different rows and bins. So if you saw a white piece of furniture that you want and you go to the warehouse expecting to see a selection of colors so you can pick up a different one--you're out of luck! They only have white. Then you have to go to the computer to see where they store the other colors and they're all just scattered in different places so you've gotta zigzag around to find what you want. Great. And for the record this is not how all Ikeas are set up. Been going to ikea since I was a kid in various countries and this was by far one of the worst locations. The Norfolk one is better if you're close to that one. read more

SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly! We had trouble at the checkout, and the staff member who helped us was very patient with us to solve the problem. SELECTION I had already come to IKEA with the furniture I wanted in mind using their design feature online. Seeing the furniture in person was really helpful in narrowing down what I wanted, and the compactness of the items when purchasing was incredible. We were able to drive back home with around 5-6 large pieces in our SUV easily (i.e. bed frames, desks). FOOD We ordered a vanilla frozen yogurt to go, and it had a slight tang, was sweet and creamy, and great bang for your buck. Definitely recommend it as a sweet treat before leaving! read more

This is my first time in this IKEA. It has a huge parking garage (free) which is great if it's snowing or raining. It happened to be doing both on my visit! The entry is unclear and not simple like the IKEA in New Haven, CT. So I found my way through the bottom section first, and clearly walking against foot traffic! I was bummed that their selections weren't super appealing to me. Perhaps my tastes have changed? The value for what you get is always spot on, I used to love walking thru IKEA when I lived in CT, loved the variety and simplicity of everything! This was not as friendly in my opinion. 6/6/24 JUST WHEN I THOUGHT, I had the lay of the land here, IKEA decided to do a little remodeling. If you have teenagers and want to torture them a bit, tell them you're taking them to an "ESCAPE ROOM", create list of items each person has to search for whilst you stand at the checkout with your stopwatch. That should kill a few hours if you got a bunch to entertain. Don't get me wrong, I love IKEA. True to fashion, I had collected a variety of " things" I didn't know I needed. I've had various Ikea items sprinkled throughout my living spaces and they have all held up very, very well like bookcases, side tables, and lamps. Most recently, I've purchased kitchen items like dish towels, dishes, cutting boards, and other storage containers. What I like most about Ikea is affordability. All price points are covered from budget friendly to more high end. I also like the modern look to everything. Everything is very practical and has a purpose. I guess that's the Scandinavian philosophy behind everything ikea. Whether you want to redesign your entire kitchen or just want to spruce up your space with a few candles, plants and blanket throws, ikea has you covered! The only hang-up, if your purchase furniture, it comes in a box meaning you have to follow the instructions and assemble it yourself. Or, you can have it delivered and hire someone to put it together for you. Some things are very, very simple to assemble. Other items are a bit more involved and you may need to watch a few YouTube videos before you begin. I wish they had classes like how to use a drill for beginners!! read more

Everyone loves Ikea! My friends and I decided to close out our 2023 with a fun day trip to Ikea. We had been getting endless ads on the djungelskogs and had to see them in person. Thankfully we didn't hit too much traffic on the way up. There is a huge free parking lot attached to this ikea and it seems to be really close to a mall. Upon entry, we were happy to find the bathrooms immediately. We arrived around lunch time, so head straight upstairs to the cafeteria. Ikea has a family loyalty program. It's free to join and gets you discounts on everything from furniture to cafe food. I highly recommend joining or going with a friend that is a part of the program. We got the classic meatballs of course (I'm not a meatball girl, but like the ones here) and some other goodies. You'll want to be well fed before your Ikea adventure because it could last a while. You are able to skip the showroom and go straight to the shopping section, but the showroom is half the fun. We enjoyed exploring every room and playing make belief in several different rooms. Since it was after Christmas they had some great sales too. Ikea can be a really inspiring place. It can get the creative juices flowing and make you excited about interior design. It's also a fantastic spot for starter furniture. It's affordable and thankfully their instructions on how to build things are pretty easy. This is our go-to Ikea. If you don't feel like venturing inside, you can do pick-up from your car. I had a blast at Ikea with my friends and find this location to be wonderful (a bit endless, but they're all like that haha). read more

Okay some items are alright. This living room light is a winner. Plenty of illumination and good price. Yet their wine rack while functional, putting that together, was a nightmare that no one could expect. My main issue with IKEA is their assembly instructions aren't easy. Is this some Swedish joke, that I've not been read in yet. Words would help this greatly, instead of diagrams from engineering school. Their dresser has lasted years, and I am happy with it. Going here is to me a real chore. Am not going to win any people friendly awards, but this store is always loaded with crowds. It is a neat place, but I don't get the "must visit" vibe others do. IKEA rocks!! I am still using a desk I got from IKEA after college, still enjoying the monitor step and key board tray. On our recent visit i purchased a couple of kitchen items including a non-stick skillet that I have been loving. I had not been a non-stick fan but decided to try this deeper non-stick pan that I now love. This pan has me enjoying eggs with an easy flip & an easy clean-up. We plan to add a wall of bookshelves to a room and expect we will turn to IKEA to bring order to our books. read more

The product is good but the service is AWFUL. I placed an order, which they would not let me edit, so I had to cancel the order and reorder it. IKEA contracts out their installation. When I cancelled the order, they never notified the installer. I was contacted by the installer who is threatening to charge me for not cancelling installation in time. I have no way of contacting the installer (goes to a 404 error when I click on the links provided in their email). So I went to IKEA. Their chatbot failed to allow me to proceed and I am now on a 10-minute hold!! You should be able to purchase things without this hassle!!! read more

4/2/23 When we go to IKEA, there is a great chance the place will be busy. Nevertheless, before we did our primary mission, our secondary mission kicked in first. Yes, I am talked about food glorious food. To paraphrase Billie Ellish, when you are hungry, the food whore can make one do a lot of things...even things we might regret. Swedish Meatballs which came with mashed potatoes and green peas. I added garlic bread and a side of mac and cheese to the dish to round off everything. Unfortunately they did not have any cornbread when we were there. Otherwise I would have eaten some unlike Martin Lawrence's character in the movie LIFE. Unfortunately, there were consequences and repercussions. The last time my wife and I were here, the soda drink options were few. This time; however, there were no soda machine drinks except water. I have wanted to try their peach fizzy drink, but alas, to no avail. We ended up getting several IZZIE Apple drinks for a $1.29. An employee informed us the place is going through a restoration. We'll I think it is going through one hell of a restoration, because I belive this what I was told the last time we were here. Aside from this, the food is delicious and I ended up buying the last two soft batch chocolate chip cookies. I am not into sugar cookies. If there had been Soft Batch Oatmeal Raisin Cookies... Whoa mama. After the meal, my wife and I saw many options on fixing up our house. However, we needed to find something for my wife's shoe collection and guests. We finally found something note worthy. We were able to aquire it in a blackish brown. Something IKEA seems to love in color options. I would rather it just be black. I like to see the options of choice each time we go to IKEA. One could spend hours here. Something not every young kid enjoys. This is where the grown ups my might say "put a leash on your kid." Well someone patented this request and many parents are doing just that. Now the dog and cat have something to smile about. We got home and I brought in the shoe stand. Since my wife hates vacuuming and folding clothes, I did this and she put the shoe stand together. Things we do for love. Another great time at IKEA. Oh, we might have to try the food on the first level near the checkout lanes. They have upgraded the area with new choice items. They were also selling a lot of chocolate for Easter Sunday. This was a very quick stop to IKEA for a couple laundry drying racks to replace the same ones I've had for 15 + years. I did get a helper to direct me to the "organization" department to make my selection (where the racks were displayed) and another helper showed me to the proper bin once I knew what I wanted. Everyone is eager to assist .... Actually I'm embarrassed I forgot my way around IKEA; when my children were little we practically lived at IKEA thanks to the impressive child play area and dining that made shopping there such an obvious choice. This is my go-to Ikea since its the closest one for me in Northern Virginia. Just as you expect, it is always a fun experience browsing around, going through the maze of a showroom. Furnitures are either reasonably or cheaply priced! However, stocking has usually been low on the more affordable furniture items. I read that there is a shortage of supplies, but the stocking numbers are not reliable. Things that are very popular are a 50/50 if it is not fully stocked. There were a few times where the website said it had something I wanted, but it was out of stock. Besides that, everything else is fine. read more

Poor service & misleading sale items. Items marked down in Red throughout the store, but they ring up as full price at checkout. Checkout clerk then does not believe you and makes you take a picture of the sale items! Then upon returning to checkout, you're at the back of the line. Clerk then calls in the price check and now you have to wait for someone to validate your price check...., it taken 15 minutes and it's a slow Wednesday. This is ridiculous. Woodbridge IKEA, please change your shipping partner, NAL Group/CRST Logistics. This is a terrible company that cannot support the amount of business you gave them. Their contract/agreement should be terminated. Their systems are outdated, their CSRs are overworked, and they have no intention of lifting a finger to ensure their deliveries make it to their customers on time. Dealing with them has been a terrible headache and not only is my delivery arriving a week late, but I also have no confirmation if I will even get my delivery on that late date. I've visited IKEA many, many times. It was a first to this location. From what I tell, many of them are basically carbon copies of each other. Very well organized. Very clean. And most is in stock. All have everything to decorate your living situation. You name it. It's probably here somewhere. They think of all you will need, and lots of what you think do. Very kool, contemporary, and as different as you could possibly think. There's very stylish rooms, kitchen, dining, sleeping, bath and even closets. Makes one want buy this and that. It's a different kind of furniture. Some love it - some do not. Quality is good, though it does depend on what you're planning to decorate. Storage, kitchen, plants, towels of all kinds are great here. Love the color choices. In the past, I've furnished an office, den, and playroom. I do have lots of the kitchens this and that. They have some really cool stuff. I went for a few specific items this trip. I believe I found the pieces that will work well. Since they are still in boxes... I will take pictures and post as soon as we get it all together. It's definitely a good place to start, if for nothing else but ideas. Though I'm willing to bet - you will not leave without a purchase of some sort. I learned this last time they have a rewards card. I've been dying to go to Ikea, and this weekend, I finally got my chance. I'm renovating and redecorating, so I thought this would be a good place to start. I had to drive 1 1/2 hours to it, then wait another hour for it to open.. and when it did, I jumped right in with my cart and started my stroll through every area... hoping to find some specific items. I did not find them, but... I discovered some other options and bought a chair, and four throw pillows with pillow covers. The one thing I wish were better is for more of the furniture to have models on the floor put together. As it is now, you pull it up on a screen to find the name, then walk through warehouse aisles to find it and throw it in your cart. You can't tell much looking at the box. The chair I bought was actually set up, so it really allowed me to see what I was getting and invision it in my house. I will wait and go back about a month from now to see what new options have shown up. read more

IKEA is truly a magical place! I think the St. Louis IKEA is one of the bigger IKEA's I have been to which is saying a lot because the department store is huge already. I forgot how much different things IKEA sells and at such cheap prices too, which does mean that quality occasionally goes down. Would recommend, if you're going dorm shopping, to not go during back-to-school time because a lot of the selection will be gone. Currently IKEA does have its restaurant side open although maybe at half capacity. I haven't been here in forever so was excited to try their food again. - Swedish Meatballs (the thing that IKEA is arguably most known for) - The gravy and the mashed potatoes were actually pretty good. For the meatballs, I think they were better tasting in my memory as it just had a lot of meaty texture to it and not a ton of flavor. Will warn you that the broccoli is just boiled. - Chocolate Cake - Kind of reminds me of Portillo's (the chain restaurant in the Illinois area). Very chocolate-y. - Berry Cheesecake - I actually like this cake very much and like how much fresh berries there were on the cake which I was not expecting. Overall, I spent too much time in IKEA which means that the department store is doing their job correctly. The amount of cheap things in here are a little mind-blowing (this very well-built umbrella was only $5). Definitely recommend going just for fun but beware of buying too much stuff. Quality isn't super great because of the price but definitely a cool experience and activity when in the St. Louis area. read more

We found some really cool, inexpensive dining room and living room furniture, as well as some storage accessories. It was a nice way to spend our Sunday afternoon, and my son found what he needed. There's plenty furniture to pick from at reasonable prices. However, the real show stopper is the food. The food is priced so low, nothing can compete. A veggie dog topped off with fried onions is only $0.90. That's right, less than a dollar. You read that right! nothing else out there! All of this was less than $6. The pretzel was a perfect size, temperature, consistency, and flavor paired with that sweet Swedish mustard. The "sundae" was even more flavorful and warms your belly. I always hear wonderful things about IKEA, so I dived and drove here to check it out. I can see the hype now, primarily because of the cafe. So IKEA is a bit weird when it comes to its location. It's located in the Potomac mills mall area. It's a hassle to enter and exit the parking garage. Once we entered and arrived at the store. There are many elevators, stairs, and an escalator to the store. It looks cleaned and clustered when shopping in this store--too many people are looking for furniture. Overall I will not return during the week, I highly suggest coming here on a weekday read more
