IKEA is always a bit of a chore because there are always too many people for me. I do, however, enjoy looking at all of the furniture and getting a good deal on the items that I do decide to buy. Nothing is ever unreasonably priced in my eyes. In fact, most of it is relatively inexpensive! This was also the first time that I have ever tried anything from the cafe at IKEA. I decided to go with the vegan "meatballs" and they were pretty darn good for being served in a cafeteria style setting in a furniture store! lol read more

This place I definitely could spend hoursss in here. It's a hit or miss with home delivery. My suggestion, don't do it! Rent a truck and take home your items. My sister received part 1 of someone's couch. Took forever to get it out of her house and bring her correct items. Just don't do it. read more

Deceptive advertising: Be careful when purchasing from IKEA. I was duped by an ad on the website that I could save $50 for a day bed and more for the mattress by joining the IKEA Family. I joined the "Family" and checked the price again on Monday, November 30. I also checked if I should order it and the website displayed that it was not necessary as the product was likely to be in stock at that store. I went to the Canton, MI store 2 days later and was charged the full price. When I filed a formal request for the refund I was told, "each featured product at IKEA, store selection may vary and prices may differ from those online". In other words don't trust anything we say. I used to travel 30 miles out of my way to shop at IKEA. That, I will do no longer. It reminds me why I used to like shopping at "ma and pa" stores. read more

I really was a big fan of ikea for a long time and especially liked the fast self-checkout at this location. I often went there to buy small decorations or gifts. The last two times I just left the store without any purchase as the waiting line in front of the check out was that long (I counted at least 8 people at each of the 4 open cashiers). Sorry but why did you get rid of the self checkout??? If you want to offer a better service open more cashiers. If you have the time to wait you'll get stylish furniture at a relatively good price and a mediocre quality. I'll return eventually when they have improved their service. read more

Delivery does not meet promise time, IKEA delivery contractors treat you terribly, and IKEA says not their issue, sorry. We are now 2 days past requested delivery timing. I paid for delivery, if they would have said up front they have no idea what day it might get to us, I'd have chosen a different method. It is IKEA's chosen contractor. Step up. read more

Wanted to say how much an employee by the name of "Patrick" has been super helpful, and genuinely friendly. He has gone out of his way to help me find an item that seemed to be out of stock (after he helped me find where it might be located in the store) It was a simple make-up type mirror, after spending a lot of his time trying to locate it with no luck we left the area and headed to the check out's. As we were making the LONG walk along comes Patrick... he managed to locate the mirror and wanted to know if we were still interested. Great guy, super smile and so pleasant.. Have noticed him helping other customers with same super service on other shopping trips. Ikea, please give him some extra "love". : ) We make the hour trip to Ikea at least 3 or 4 times a year and having employees of that caliber makes it especially enjoyable. It is what it is cheap furniture and cheap food in a big building , I come here for things like plates shower curtains and smaller picketed items , in the past I purchased a bed and dressed here and it was very uncomfortable and did not hold up at all we, kept the bed and mattress for about two years but the bed slowly stated falling apart along with the struts ... Me and my faience are both quite small people too. The dresser was crap, the back was literally pretty much a piece of cardboard.. I'll still come here for things that are not furniture.., read more

I had never been in an IKEA until this visit. I had always heard about them and heard all the hype. I wasn't disappointed. They have tons if furniture that looks chic without the high price tags. I found several things I'd like in my house. They had some areas set up as small houses and even told the square footage. I didn't eat one but they have hot dogs for only 50 cents. Usually, I don't post reviews, let alone negative reviews however, after reaching out to customer service 3xs regarding a purchase made BEFORE they closed due to the pandemic, I had no choice but to do this post. My husband arrived to pick up the merchandise Wednesday, (from 5-7, as it stated on our first email) only to be told we needed an additional email stating that it was ready. As my husband waited in the parking lot, I was on the phone with customer service who stated they "weren't sure why the security officer wasn't letting us pick it up since it was ready". He waited 1hr and 45min only for IKEA to close for the day. When he returned on Thursday morning, IKEA was closed indefinitely. Now, of course I understand keeping employees & customers safe, but communication is key, yes? All orders should have been able to be picked up for that day! On my 4th phone calll, I asked if delivery was an option, she stated that at this time, it would not be covered by IKEA. So for an additional $70, on an already $277.60 order, it could be delivered but she was uncertain of when. I cancelled the order through customer service, was given a case number & now, must wait how long for the refund??? I hope all are staying safe and healthy, now let's make this right IKEA! read more

As it's a chain store, filled with the same stuff, you know what you are coming to get. The reason for the one star is customer service here is awful. Just rude employees & can't find someone to help, without some type of attitude. It looks very unprofessional when employees are eating food at the register, as that happened when we were checking out. And one manager was overly rude. Again, it's Ikea. You know what you came for. On the whole Ikea's alright for organizational stuff, food, and the odd piece here and there. 2 major problems: First, all their stuff looks the same. It's either some solid lacquer finish or walnut stain, and it's all basically in the same style. Second, don't ever go there for a major piece of furniture. I learned this the hard way. We spent $300 on a dresser and one of the pieces broke while we were putting it together. No problem, just take the piece back and they'll replace it. Except the same piece broke when we started to put clothing in the dresser. It's our own fault for not keeping the receipt after the thing had already broken once, but still. Ikea sells cheap stuff, and plan on bringing back anything you bought that cost more than $250. read more

I still don't understand the allure of Ikea. Maybe to visit once from a tourist standpoint, but for many items I find the items to be cheap and crappy. The people who shop there seem to have no clue how to walk or move about, and the stupid carts have all four wheels that move and pivot, so it's really hard to steer. Visited this location for the first time my other experiences have been the Plymouth Meeting location in Pennsylvania. The place was a mad house with kids running around, unkept bathrooms. I actually walked out of the women's restroom because it was too dirty and smelly. However, for the price you pay for such items what can you except. read more

I recently just moved to Michigan and was very happy that there's was an IKEA close to my home. This IKEA is nice. It has everything I'm looking for. IKEA! Where else can you get affordable Swiss furniture, novels written entirely in Swedish, and a meatball dinner as well? Not even Hudson's in it's heyday could boast all that, even with their stodgy old restaurants that they had. Seriously, the store is well laid out in a path so you can browse but always find your way back to something you passed. The displays are nice and they always have lots f samples to sit on, try, etc. I bought some shelf units (Line: Billy) and a corner computer table/desk, as well as my bed (Malm). All have been great. You need to assemble this stuff yourself though. It's pretty easy though. Pretty un-screwupable. They also have great customer service. When I got my desk home and found that a couple vital parts were missing, I wnet back and told them. They didn't even question me. Just went in back and came out with the bag of parts I needed and said "Sorry for the inconvenience." Oh, and the cafeteria has darn tasty meatballs also. read more

Always love visiting Ikea. They have a great selection of products, that are well organized and easy to find. My only complaint is the customer service, as their flat bed cart machine was not working and people were lost trying to find carts. They could have stationed am employee there with carts or to tell people where to find more, but their employees kept acting surprised when people told them and calling other employees and maintenance. read more

Went here this past weekend for a new bedroom set and of course what ever other random odds and ends I stumble upon in the market place. This was my first time at this location (used to go to Pittsburgh) it's much bigger than the one I've been too. They had everything I needed in stock which is nice to know when company's website stock matches the actually in store. Very friendly staff helped me with everything. IKEA is a great place to find your basic home good necessities and more. Great quality furniture for a cheap price. Haven't had a problem with anything from there. Already can't wait to go back! read more

The food is not as good as the hype. Don't believe what people say. If you know much about IKEA you know that the furniture is not that great of quality and if you take it apart it's hard to put back together, so don't ever take it apart, even if you are moving! I didn't find the directions hard to follow, but I've heard that people do have difficulty to follow them. We have two Poang chairs which I really enjoy. We purchase little stuff here sometimes too. They have great organizing ideas. It's fun to just go here on a rainy weekend and walk around. We usually take visitors from out of town who have never been to an IKEA here. But if you need something quick it's probably not your best choice, even if you know exactly where it is. It's a maze and it's huge. There's usually long lines at the check out too. read more

Now, I clearly understand the love- hate relationship with Ikea. My husband and I looked extensively for a new entertainment for our house. We looked at Best Buy, Target, Meijer, and hundreds of places online- in a capitalist society it is crazy that we couldnt find what we wanted. As a last resort we went to Ikea. I have been a few times but for small household items that are good quality and a good price (like a coffee press which I use as a tea press for $12.99! I bought my original one over a year ago, it still works great but we bought two back ups in case they are in the dishwasher). We found the perfect entertainment center but when we priced it out, it was going to cost almost $500... yeah, Ikea... that isnt going to happen for pressed wood. We ended up creating a combination that would work for us but it still cost $300. With that all set up, I checked out a couple of desks (since we were on the rat track... man, making me look at all that stuff....it works!) for my craft room. We found a nice desk for $119, I personally liked all the shelving spaces to store things. We made a list, did the measurements and then I went back to the store, solo. I couldnt find anyone to help me grab the stuff from off of the shelf, so I had to manuveur the 74 pound box myself, and then the 34 pounder (from the second shelf), I picked up a few more things and called it a day- I had a new desk to put together!!! I anxiously got it home, had the hubby help me get it upstairs in my room and I put it together.... only it wasnt cut correctly and it didnt go together as it should have. I was so BUMMED. Not only because Ikea is supposed to be great about their products but I had to get it all myself, put it together for about an hour and now what?! I looked at the back of the receipt for returns- it didnt say anything about exchanges. I figured the last thing I needed was some stupid thing to go wrong by me taking it back, so I figured I should call. The lady in customer service was a little snotty about the whole thing. I told her I was calling because of the defect and what I should do about it. She huffed and said, "yeah, Im familiar with that style and I have NEVER heard of ANYTHING like this EVER happening...." After being on hold for over 45 minutes and then dealing with a sass-i-tude, I said "look, while I have you on the phone, I can take a picture and send it to you to prove that the product is defective and Im not just a doughnut that didnt put it together incorrectly. She said "yeah, I guess we would exchange it." Thank you for the very clear answer.... sigh.... again, customer service... what is it these days? My hubby and I took it back and exchanged it. Thank goodness it was on sale that day, so it was $10 less than the original price. Not that $10 is worth it but it was a minor win. I took it home, got it together and it worked. Thank goodness! Apparently we didnt learn our lessons since my husband wanted the same desk.... so I had to go back and get another one. On the plus side, I like their food. It is refreshing and much needed after the amount of time you can spend there. I think they do a great way to look, touch and visualize different designs. I like the inspiration..... But when it comes down to it, I dont think they are all that cheap. Although, I am not the biggest fan of the store and NOT their customer service but I will be back. That is the sad part about the whole situation..... that is a true love-hate relationship! read more

I of course LOVE Ikea and visit the one in Cincinnati on a regular basis (its the closest to my home). So I was excited to visit the one in Canton just to see what was different (if anything) on top of anything new that might have come out since the fall. When I learned that this location was also getting an addition my expectations were even higher. Sadly, I was disappointed in this location. For starters it felt as if everything was just thrown together in a matter of minutes. Ikea is coming out with a new kitchen line so all the displays that had a kitchen were closed off to make the changes. Ok, not their fault that it's new product set to debut in just a few weeks (I think 2/1 is when it launches). But everything else just felt empty or just like an after thought. Even the marketplace felt disheveled. After walking through and looking at everything (and taking the time to explain stuff as my parents were visiting an Ikea for the first time) we made our way down to the marketplace. I of course, had a mission to pick up some more shelves to match the ones I already have. We made our way through the lower level, grabbed what we needed, and headed to the checkout. Now, I am used to going at different days and times to the one by my home and find that on a "slow" day they have 4-5 lanes open, so checkout is typically quick. This location, however had 2 lanes open. Yes, I get that it was 8pm on a Tuesday...but only 2...really? Checkout felt like it took forever to get through. They FINALLY opened a 3rd lane, but only after we waited long enough to be next in line. I felt for the people in the other line as there was a lady buying a TON of stuff which of course takes longer than the 4 items that were in my hand. All in all, I still love Ikea and will continue to go back...but this location needs to get their act together. Either hire more employees to get stuff done and make the store look awesome...and have more lanes open...or better scheduling/planning on the management side of things. So I'd say in closing...give your self a lot of time when you visit...if you're in a hurry, you'll be disappointed when you reach the checkout. read more

I love Ikea! Love the furniture, love the incidentals and love the food. Would have given it a 5, but for the rude lady at the checkout area who I believe might have been offering credit cards. This was Saturday, 27 October at around 2:30 PM. She was wearing an IKEA uniform, but was extremely rude! She made it very clear she had no intention of helping us. Julia,another employee, on the other hand was very helpful and could not have been more pleasant. Putting the rude woman so close to checkout left a bad feeling after an otherwise successful trip. read more

it's like a mini mall. with kids play area... food court... perfect for window shopping.... or just walking around.... if you still have the itchy fingers to spend money...you can always find something reasonable, and not feel guilty about it afterwards... CUZ IT WAS EXPENSIVE!!! :) read more

We love Ikea. Even refrigerator is organized (most of the time). My highly functional and beautiful dining room table has held up well so far. My home office is organized with IKEA. And today we just stocked up on some supplies for glamping this summer (glamour camping). Why I haven't tried the meatballs yet, I don't know. Next time for sure. Awesome! Outfitted my daughters room and kitchen. The furniture is so easy to put together. Instructions are spot on. The displays are beautiful and give me great ideas for decorating. Affordable, modern furniture. Great food. I just wish we had more than one location, it's totally worth the 45 minute drive.

Another trip, two times in a summer! I love seeing how creative things are here. It's 4 stars because there is really no customer service. I've never had anyone offer to help in any of the visits here unless I've approached them. Staff literally will cross your path and not say hello.
