I had a pretty decent experience picking up an order here. It took a few days for them to have everything ready and it's a bit of a distance for me to get the stuff. However, even despite all that and difficulties locating parking, the actual pickup experience was still excellent. Just find the designated parking spot near the Macy's garage area and the store associate will bring the boxed items right to you. It was so hassle free and easy. The customer service associates were very helpful and efficient. I spent no more than 10 minutes just to receive my items. This was a few days prior to Christmas so the store and the mall itself was super chaotic too. Given the amount of traffic it had, the process couldn't have been better than this. I wouldn't hesitate using this particular INEA store for another order pickup again in the future. read more

However, when I arrived, the return was denied by the staff member sitting at the entrance. He was not polite and came across as rude in the way he handled the situation. I really wanted to like this small IKEA location, but the experiences I've had here have been frustrating enough that I won't be returning. My first visit should have been simple. Instead, the pouting, young employee at the counter told me to lift the large yellow shopping cart full of items up onto the counter for him. There was no explanation of the process, just attitude. The cart was heavy, and I'm a smaller, older woman being asked to lift it to a tall, very large young man standing behind the counter. It felt unnecessary and frankly rude. I ended up pulling a muscle in my back trying to do what he asked. If there's a specific protocol, it should be explained clearly, and employees should be willing to assist customers, not the other way around. When I left I had an overstuffed large bag and was juggling several other items. The kid didn't bat an eye or offer to help me out to my car. I should have returned it all right there immediately. I had just spent $250. Unfortunately, my second visit wasn't any better. I parked in the designated pull-up and wait area where they bring orders out to your car. While I was on the phone with my husband getting the confirmation number, another tall, large kid employee knocked on my window and startled me. I think this is the same guy as the last visit. He immediately started questioning why I was parked there. I explained I was waiting for the order confirmation and rolled up my window to continue my call. He persisted, saying he wanted to look up the order for me, but this didn't come across as helpful. It felt like he was trying to make sure I wasn't "just parking there." I didn't want to juggle a phone call with my husband in one ear and a teenager hovering at my window. I rolled the window back up, and he stood there staring while I finished my call, then walked off and gestured toward me while talking to a mall cop. There were two open spaces, so it wasn't like I was blocking anyone. After all that, it turned out my husband had accidentally placed the order at the Burbank location instead. At that point, I was so fed up with the interaction that Im cancelling the order at Burbank. This is easily the worst IKEA experience I've had in Southern California, and it's not much of a store to begin with. I try to support brick-and-mortar stores instead of defaulting to Amazon, but interactions like this make that difficult. Between the lack of customer service and socially awkward, confrontational staff, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Such a nice sneak peak at what the larger ikea stores would carry, I thought it was a very nice store with some items that I usually see in larger quantities and stacked with others. Inside are still great show rooms that make you rethink how simple rooms can be but also how hard it might be if I have to keep things so organized all the time.... I think I really enjoy looking at the smaller household items, although they have cabinets, organizers, and large furniture in boxes, I find it hard to buy these if we're just here to window shop. However, you can order online and have it picked up here and it's convenient given the distance to the nearest larger ikea. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around here, although not as expansive, it's nice to know they carry many items I do enjoy buying such as cooking and eating utensils, plates/bowls, blankets/pillow cases, candy and snacks, and decorative art. Staff are very nice as well, they have two check out registers which is definitely needed given many don't have ikea family membership and might be trying to register on the spot while checking out... read more

A small version of the big IKEA store in Covina, CA. The entrance in the mall makes the store look super small, but don't be fooled because it's actually large for a smaller IKEA location. Lots to browse through, less of a hassle than wondering through the huge Covina store lol. Having a tiny ikea in the mall is a great idea! While you're very limited in what you can actually purchase in store, you can get a lot either delivered to the store or for home delivery. This location is also much less crowded. If you need to talk to a layout planner, you will have more time here. However, like most ikeas, I also found that it's understaffed. There was no one at the register when we went to check out and we had to find an employee after waiting awhile. read more

We ended up having to go to this location as our local IKEA did not have the item in stock. This location is where it was shipped to and we were able to pick up the order from. This made it much more convenient for us, as this is close to home and we didn't hey drive all the way back to Burbank What we love the most was the ease of being able to park in the IKEA parking spaces at the mall scan a QR code and the items were brought out to us and put on our vehicle. This process was much easier than would have been at the standard IKEA store. All in all our experience at both locations, Burbank and Arcadia were exceptional. read more

This is a very small location inside the mall near the wushiland boba. They have some things for sale like some kitchen glassware but mostly its purposes is for design planning of your home/space. They some cookies for sale, no candy. They dont take normal returns so you will have to go to another ikea for that. Overall, wish they had some stuff for sale and that they accepted returns. read more

I like how the store is well stock both the basics, but the staff here are terrible. They see you come into the store and would look at you, then walks away. Do they hire introverts or what? There's many plates, photos, pillow cases, towels here, your daily essentials can be found here. Easy enough to pick up an order here once you know where to go, but the instructions in the email are unclear. Pickup should park in the small structure in front of golds gym, NOT the larger structure connected to the Macys and Nordstrom. They bring the items out to the curb on the street level. I was surprised by how spacious this Ikea planning studio was. I thought that Ikea wasn't complete without their food court and especially their famous meat balls, plant balls and veggie balls but this location made me think otherwise. There were quite a few full room displays like bathrooms, the kitchen, and bedrooms that brought me back to my time exploring the full sized Ikea back in Burbank. They had this really cute kid sized kitchen with a cloth veggie set shown in the front window display that I was tempted to get. The prices, of course as typical of Ikea's, were very affordable. I saw these beautiful glass bottles with those tops that latch on and off the top selling at a very decent price of 2$. I recently have been trying to make my own sodas so these are perfect for that. read more

This Ikea planning studio is a great alternative to the regular Ikea stores. The closest Ikea stores are more than 10 miles away from here and you have to allocate much more time if you plan on shopping there. PROS - Easy access while you are at the mall taking care of other shopping. - Location. If you don't live near a regular Ikea - Can place your order and whatever they don't have in store, you can just pick it up later - Decent number of displays - Good for quickly checking out popular products in person CONS - Not a lot of inventory in stock - No spare parts available (even if you ask them to order it for you, they say it can take up to a month). - Not good if you are in a hurry to have the products in hand. This is NOT an actual IKEA store. It is a design studio located inside The Shops at Santa Anita. It is near Macy's. I have never walked in until last week because my date wanted to check it out. He's currently looking for stuff for a new house. When we walked in, there were 3 or 4 people in the front, like the reception area, looking at a computer. Not one of them greeted us. One of them looked up at us (I made eye contact with him) and looked back down at the computer and started talking to his coworkers. We started walking around and checking out the displays. The whole time we were there NO ONE came to check up on us or asked if we needed help. I only saw 1 other worker there in the back and was not acknowledged. Other than bad service, the stuff they have looks nice and the store seemed clean. This is a place I would definitely not come back to though. read more

She said they didn't have the specific color in store, so I asked if there were any other Ekets on display. She rolled her eyes and acted like I was dumb. I mean, the name is IKEA Planning Studio after all...?! My family has had wonderful experiences planning with several associates: Lillit, Helga, and Manny. They are all extremely patient and have great recommendations design-wise, as well as specific knowledge of IKEA's product lines to maximize the potential of our kitchen. Every time we worked together, it truly felt like they prioritized getting the best results and vision we wanted. We made our appointments very easily over the phone and online, and once arriving, we went straight to the planning center and each time felt productive, not difficult at all. Perhaps difficult for them, as we had so many questions and ideas -- but you wouldn't be able to tell from the great attitudes they had. WARNING: There are no returns or exchanges here. And there are no signs warning you about this. You have to go to Covina or Burbank. We bought two vases here and changed our mind and wanted to swap one of them for a different one. They couldn't do the exchange. We ended up having to buy a third vase. And not worth driving to Burbank to try to return the other vase. Terrible. Staff wasn't very helpful or friendly. read more

Visited the IKEA design studio in Arcadia for an appointment with Manuel. The hope was to finalize the design and choice of cabinets for my small kitchen. The visit exceeded my expectations! I left incredibly pleased with the result. Manuel was detailed and patient exploring various options with me. He made me comfortable with the process and the decisions. His manager Helga even stepped in to help us with a "hack" on one cabinet. Manuel placed the order for my base cabinets and it arrived promptly and complete. Will return when I'm ready for the wall cabinets and will be requesting Manuel. Due to the small size of my space, my options were limited, but this team made it work. Thank you both!! read more

IKEA is in Arcadia! Well, IKEA Planning Studio, that is -- its new small scale format that IKEA is testing out. You can dream up your IKEA-furnished rooms and order all the furniture to assemble back home, but here you won't find the full display rooms you're used to spending hours getting lost in (sometimes literally, the gigantic traditional stores are mazes!) or pick up furniture in person to load into your car. But if you just want to browse virtually with an employee, this Planning Studio at the mall is it. read more

I ordered a lamp and a shoe rack. The employees politely told me that they would have the items picked up from the IKEA in Covina. I understood since the IKEA in the mall was smaller. The problem I had was when I came to pick up the items. They told me to ignore the text messages being sent to me and to just arrive on Monday at 2PM, or anytime before that. The employee in the front told me to wait 30 minutes after I had already waited an hour. When I had to go to the front desk for the third time to check if it was done, she said she was just about to call me to let me know that it was already there while she was chatting and laughing with another employee. Wow! Worst customer service EVER!!! Excuse me, there is no customer service. How do you plan anything with no help, in a place you have never been? No one even greets you with a HELLO when you walk in the door. There is a person sitting at the front counter looking down. Walking through the store aimlessly I notice two staff sitting at desks. It sounded liked they were having a lot of fun doing something on their computers. Neither acknowledged me as I walked by. Their products are well displayed if your not looking for too much selection. There were several items I was interested in however some did not have prices. It would have been nice to have some guidance from an employee. I just wasn't comfortable so I chose not to disturb any of the staff. This place should be closed down. People should not be paid to work if that's not what they are doing! Sadly, it misrepresents the actual IKEA Store. I was really disappointed so I don't recommend you wasting your time there.
