    Cabin #4
    Angi S.

We stayed in one of the cabins for a las minute overnighter. It was cabin #4. They have five cabins, only cabin pet friendly is cabin #5. Cabins #1-3 are the ones with a view of the lake with cabin #1 being the best located cabin. The cabins have cadet heaters, lots of light, and outlets. Each cabin has a water faucet outside. There is a central "out house". The futon in our cabin had a pleather cover. So i would suggest bringing a full sized fitted sheet to put over it for better comfort. The park is pretty big, and has a lot of trees. There is a short well marked trail that runs along the outer edge of the park next to the water. It starts just up the road from the entrance to the campground, and ends at the grassy area on the lake next to cabin #1. The main drawback is the swimming area and boat launch are not located in the campground, but across the main road.

This is a great park. I stayed one night in a camp site and had a great time. I made a fire and when it was dark, everyone respected the quiet time hours, which I really appreciated. There are a ton of really nice trails all over the park. There is water access so walking down to the water was really beautiful. Not too buggy either. Highly recommend!

    Mossy trees.

Spent only a little time here, just checked it out visiting my parents who live on the lake. No one else was there, we were there in the evening. Looks like it gets lots of use. Three separate abandoned flip flops on the swim area beach, some bottles and cans tossed on the sides of the walking trail. I would come here again when I had more time to spend here.

    Beautiful evening on the lake

One of my favorite campgrounds. Come out here every year memorial day weekend. Huge campsites with lots of privacy. Good tree cover for rain too! Make sure to make your reservations WELL AHEAD, the park sells out fast. Great trails to take the dogs and or go for little hikes. Great family environment and reasonable prices. Also the showers say they take tokens. We noticed they operate without them. Might be a faulty system, but hey! Free showers :).

Mayfield Lake Park Review…read more We absolutely love Mayfield Lake Park and spend many weekends here during the summer camping in our little tent and chasing muskies. The staff is always friendly, professional, and hardworking, and they truly go above and beyond to make every visit enjoyable. The park is always spotless -- from the campsites to the bathrooms and park areas -- and you can tell the staff takes pride in keeping it that way. On this trip, we came across an injured feral cat near our site. Skyler responded immediately and professionally, setting a trap to help the cat. My son was able to safely get the cat into the cage, and the staff took it to an animal sanctuary. We were so impressed by how quickly and compassionately they handled the situation. Another example of their dedication happened when we accidentally left soap in the shower the night before. Ben was quick to check if it had been found (unfortunately, someone had walked off with my husband's men's Dove soap), but we appreciated his effort and quick response. We drive an hour and a half from our home to spend time at this beautiful lake, and it's always worth the trip. The staff truly deserve recognition for their dedication, hard work, and kindness. Mayfield Lake Park will always be one of our favorite places to relax, fish, and enjoy nature.

August 19-22, 2025 - Toledo, WA…read more We really enjoyed our stay at Lewis and Clark State Park. We camped on the forest side (east side), not the equestrian side. The park is divided into two sections: The forest side is where you'll find most of the standard tent/RV sites (no hookups), the group camp, kitchen shelters, and a large day-use meadow, and the equestrian side (west side), across the road, is set up for horse campers. It has full hookup sites, corrals, and direct access to horse trails, but it's more of a parking-lot style layout. Although the website notes "25 tent spaces" as first-come, first-served, we were able to make reservations months in advance for our 27' Class A motorhome. Arrival & Campsite Check-in is at 2:30 p.m. A ranger welcomed us as we unhooked our tow vehicle, and later stopped by our site with a park map and helpful information. Each site comes with a picnic table and fire ring. Our site was spacious, fairly level, and accommodated our rig easily. Trails & Atmosphere The park features several beautiful trails, including one that winds through an old-growth forest. Interpretive kiosks and signs throughout the park make for an interesting walk. While you'll hear some road noise from Jackson Highway, the tall trees and forest setting still create a peaceful atmosphere. Overall, this is a lovely campground if you're looking for a forest stay with trails to explore, just keep in mind it's not a silent wilderness escape due to nearby traffic.

August 21, 2025…read more Great Washington State Campground. Very lush and green with lots of Doulas Fir, western hemlock trees, and ferns. There are full hook up and dry camping sites. The full hook up sites are pretty sparse near the main road and there's not a whole lot of greenery. The non-hook up sites are spacious and have picnic tables and fire rings. You can reserve your site online ahead of time.

Beaver Falls - Standing underneath Beaver Falls is a Must-Do!

What a wonderful under the radar waterfall this is...Beaver Falls!…read more Located 6 miles east of Clatskanie, Oregon, this area near the Columbia River is beautiful. Let's get straight to the heart of what Beaver Falls is all about... If you plug "Beaver Falls Trailhead" into Google Maps, you'll have no problem finding it. Then just park along the side of Highway 30 and hike 1/3rd of a mile through the forest to the base of the falls. It's that easy. When I visited on a Thursday in early afternoon of July, there was hardly anyone around which was good for taking quality photos. Best of all, you can swim in the waters. So definitely bring a bathing suit, towel and a pair of water shoes so the rocks won't hurt your feet while entering the pool beneath Beaver Falls. The water is cold but once you jump in and get comfortable, it's a terrific setting. There's also a long rope where you can swing across and splash down below. It's great for kids (and adults too, lol) to have playful times. For me, I was content soaking in the pool and appreciating the surroundings. More info... - It's free to visit. - Cell phone reception works fine. - You can walk underneath the falls! This is a Must-Do. You can capture some amazing moments standing beside Beaver Falls. It's not hard or dangerous and offers a unique perspective. - Beaver Falls is just one of many outstanding waterfalls situated around Oregon and especially near the Columbia River. There's also Lower Lewis River Falls, Panther Creek Falls and Spirit Falls, to name a few. - You can spend a few hours hanging out or as little as 30 - 40 minutes. It depends on your time horizon. But overall, it's really pleasant to be here that I'd suggest bringing snacks, lunch and maybe having a picnic. This Beaver Falls is absolutely so much fun to hang out at. When you can swim in the waters, swing from a rope and even walk underneath the falls, It makes for a worthwhile summer visit.
