We rented 2 yurts here on 4/8/17-4/9/17 We paid $74/night for each yurt Each yurt sleeps up to 5 people We all really enjoyed our visit! There were swings, a volleyball court, and horseshoe pits nearby the yurts. We didn't play any of them due to it being slightly wet and muddy outside, but if we come back in the summer, it be so fun! I think it's still considered off season right now, so it seemed pretty quiet around the park. Right across the street is a visitor center. Great place to stop by and enjoy some history of the area! There seems like lots to do around here, and I definitely want to come back and enjoy the trails and what not some more!

Skeeters skeeters everywhere! The camp sites seemed just a tad smaller and closer together than other state parks I've been to, and the restrooms and showers weren't very clean - lots of bugs abound, and no TP. On the plus side, I like that our camp sites were separate from the RV sites, so we didn't get the generator noise, and also the trees seemed a little denser. Also, I highly recommend checking out Mount St. Helens - the hour drive is quite impressive and well worth it. We did a long hike, and it was nice to have a camp site to go home to after!

If your exploring Mt. St. Helen Volcanic National Monument you might have a tough time finding a place to stay over night at. We were lucky enough to have stumbled upon a small Washington state park with a cool yurt village where you could stay in a yurt that can sleep up to six people for a really reasonable price. The location of the village is exactly what you would expect to find in Washington. It is among an old grove forest which surrounds you with beautiful greenery and gives you plenty of shade anytime of the day. There is plenty of trails that take you into the woods which are breathtaking. There is a playground nearby. I love that they have showers here. You have to turn your money into coins here. You park not far from the community of yurts and then you use a wagon to carry your things to your yurt.

Beautiful park .. on both sides of Spirit Lake Highway. I have lived here for the past 2.5 years. Lived here also before the mountain blew. Longtime PNW resident & avid hiker. When we first moved here in 2019 the trails in the woods on the camping side were in much need of trail trimming so my husband & I have gotten to work and now they are easily hiked on by all w/o branches, stickers, ferns, big logs etc; we even cleared some logs along the way to sit on & take a lil break and absorb your amazing surroundings. The boardwalk side (same side as Visitors Center) has gorgeous views of Mount Saint Helens and an abundance of wildlife to observe and is wheelchair friendly. Please pack out what you pack in we like to keep it clean for everyone's enjoyment... especially your dog poo

Beautiful park for RVs and tents. No hookups where we were but there is an area for that. A little pricey especially if you're from out of state. The Mount Saint Helens welcome center is right across the street within walking distance. There is actually a tunnel under the road so you don't have to actually cross the road. No service from AT&T or Verizon at the campground.

    Upon entry.

This was a really nice place to camp. Yes you pay to camp but that keeps the parks clean, and it's worth it! Also the campground is clean, quiet and surrounded by beautiful trees. It's family and kid friendly and has a shower and bathroom for guests. The shower takes tokens you can buy on site. Simple and easy. Also- if you plan to have a fire there are plenty of places near by (and on site) that sell wood bundles for only a few bucks! No need to lug wood in your car. There are plenty of places near by for day activities and hikes! Plus you are right across the street from the Mt. St. Helen's visiting center! We have a great time at Seaquest State Park.

What a wonderful under the radar waterfall this is...Beaver Falls!…read more Located 6 miles east of Clatskanie, Oregon, this area near the Columbia River is beautiful. Let's get straight to the heart of what Beaver Falls is all about... If you plug "Beaver Falls Trailhead" into Google Maps, you'll have no problem finding it. Then just park along the side of Highway 30 and hike 1/3rd of a mile through the forest to the base of the falls. It's that easy. When I visited on a Thursday in early afternoon of July, there was hardly anyone around which was good for taking quality photos. Best of all, you can swim in the waters. So definitely bring a bathing suit, towel and a pair of water shoes so the rocks won't hurt your feet while entering the pool beneath Beaver Falls. The water is cold but once you jump in and get comfortable, it's a terrific setting. There's also a long rope where you can swing across and splash down below. It's great for kids (and adults too, lol) to have playful times. For me, I was content soaking in the pool and appreciating the surroundings. More info... - It's free to visit. - Cell phone reception works fine. - You can walk underneath the falls! This is a Must-Do. You can capture some amazing moments standing beside Beaver Falls. It's not hard or dangerous and offers a unique perspective. - Beaver Falls is just one of many outstanding waterfalls situated around Oregon and especially near the Columbia River. There's also Lower Lewis River Falls, Panther Creek Falls and Spirit Falls, to name a few. - You can spend a few hours hanging out or as little as 30 - 40 minutes. It depends on your time horizon. But overall, it's really pleasant to be here that I'd suggest bringing snacks, lunch and maybe having a picnic. This Beaver Falls is absolutely so much fun to hang out at. When you can swim in the waters, swing from a rope and even walk underneath the falls, It makes for a worthwhile summer visit.

A very unique and beautiful area to visit!…read more The trailhead has a nice parking area, with bathrooms. The trail to the winding, aqua blue stream is wide and well maintained. You can view the main attraction from trails on both sides, as well as looking down from the bridge. We took the trails on both sides of the water. The trail across the bridge is much easier to traverse, and winds down to the (closed down) suspension bridge. The opposite side leads down beyond the suspension to the waters edge, but even to get down to that point isn't for the faint of heart. It includes a narrow, steep downhill trek...including a section over running water (with a wire handrail for support). Once you arrive at the water at the bottom you can view the suspension bridge above, and if you dare, the waterfall below. We did attempt to continue on a little ways down the trail from there, but as reviews describe, the next section is even steeper with a very loose and dangerous footing. I got vertigo trying to look over the edge at the falls right before that section, so continuing on was a huge no. I'm sure that many people without height woes have no issues moving on, but if you're like me, the trail ends there. This area is stunning. The waters and canyon are a site that pictures simply cannot do justice. Highly recommend!!

Summer visits offer deep, mountain fresh pools of blue-green water that attract locals and tourists alike for a refreshing swim or float. There's something for everyone in this special park. Be sure to walk up to the bridge that spans the narrow canyon as it offers a stunning view of the river below. If you continue beyond the bridge you'll find a well-maintained trail that follows the river westward for miles and miles. The lush forest is filled with plants in every shade of green; towering Douglas Fir, Sword and Brachen Fern, Salal, Huckleberry and so much more. For a special treat, visit in early spring when the Trillium are blooming. Arriving from the west, visitors will first encounter the main falls with a small parking lot. Don't worry if it's full, there are two more lots further up the road as it turns sharply toward the north in the direction of Yacolt. Don't miss Yacolt Falls - a smaller waterfall on Big Tree Creek, which empties into the Lewis River just east of the main falls. August 19-22, 2025 - Toledo, WA…read more We really enjoyed our stay at Lewis and Clark State Park. We camped on the forest side (east side), not the equestrian side. The park is divided into two sections: The forest side is where you'll find most of the standard tent/RV sites (no hookups), the group camp, kitchen shelters, and a large day-use meadow, and the equestrian side (west side), across the road, is set up for horse campers. It has full hookup sites, corrals, and direct access to horse trails, but it's more of a parking-lot style layout. Although the website notes "25 tent spaces" as first-come, first-served, we were able to make reservations months in advance for our 27' Class A motorhome. Arrival & Campsite Check-in is at 2:30 p.m. A ranger welcomed us as we unhooked our tow vehicle, and later stopped by our site with a park map and helpful information. Each site comes with a picnic table and fire ring. Our site was spacious, fairly level, and accommodated our rig easily. Trails & Atmosphere The park features several beautiful trails, including one that winds through an old-growth forest. Interpretive kiosks and signs throughout the park make for an interesting walk. While you'll hear some road noise from Jackson Highway, the tall trees and forest setting still create a peaceful atmosphere. Overall, this is a lovely campground if you're looking for a forest stay with trails to explore, just keep in mind it's not a silent wilderness escape due to nearby traffic.

The Rangers and park staff are awesome as is almost always the case in National reserves. They do "require" a national pass here and elsewhere in the park but that requirement is rarely enforced and I've never seen it enforced any place other than at the Johnston Observatory. There is a boat launch area and they may well be checking for passes in vehicles over there. I am so thankful that the Park Service is so committed to monuments like this one.
