blood stain
Jennelle L.

The campgrounds need to find another owner and staff. I was invited to this outing along with 8 other RV's & cabins as it was a celebration for a family member's birthday. Upon arrival to my cabin, I was greeted with cob webs and bugs on the ceilings, a bulb out, and blood stain on my pillow. I called front desk to get some assistance and was rudely interrupted by Kelly who discussed another cabins' issues. As I was complaining about the the horrible stain on a pillow, she wants to bring up the fact that the other cabin is violating their no pet policy. As paying customers, I expect my business to stay my business. Why share with other people who are not in the same cabin? Not only is this unprofessional and uncomfortable, now you've created a bad impression for the company you work for. Instead of politely addressing my complaint, Kelly wants to talk about the no pet policy which has nothing to do with me, as I had no pets. After going back to the subject of my blood stained pillow, she wants to tell me "I can assure you there was no blood stain before your arrival. Somebody was there to clean this morning but now the cleaning lady won't be here for the weekend. So you can come to the front for a new pillow case." (SIDE NOTE: NATHAN FROM MAINTENANCE confirmed nobody checked our room the morning of.) So on top of Kelly's lies and laziness, she has the audacity to actually yell at a paying customer. After a heated conversation, she shouts, "Do you want me to send the owner?!" We reply,"PLEASE SEND THE OWNER!" Who shows up at the door? Not the owner, but another staff member named Shelly. She was calm and and polite but still discusses the other party and their no pet policy. She looks at the stain and calls it a chocolate stain. She assures us that everything is washed and that it's okay. We were literally looking at her like, ?!?!?!?!?!?! How is this okay? LOL, please give us new casing for the damn pillow. WHO KNOWS WHERE THIS STAIN CAME FROM?! So finally, she gets us a new pillow and discusses how the other cabin is going to get a $350 cleaning fee for the no pet policy. (BTW, my sister had a party of 5 in the cabin with dogs. 3 of the individuals brought two dogs to hang out with and they ended up getting a hotel nearby and DID NOT STAY. DOGS DID NOT ENTER THE DECK OR CABIN WHATSOEVER.) As she was leaving, we asked for maintenance. Nathan, also polite, asks if he should remove his shoes upon entering. We said yes, and he addressed our issues and concerns. He fixed the light and made sure that we didn't set the AC temp below 72. My guest asked if it was a joke because she could not believe that we had to leave our cabin at room temperature. 72 is literally room temp, lol. Nonetheless, this guy was nice and he's just following their rules. So that was our cabins' experience alone. Let me get into the other parties experiences. THE BIRTHDAY girl was able to rent a cabin right in front of her parents RV site. Her mom and friend (who rented an RV site) were just visiting her cabin. They tried to kick the birthday girl out because she supposedly had additional guests staying in her cabin. Really? lol. This place is ridiculous!!! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that ANOTHER party found a bag of thongs and used utensils under their bed. WHOAH... I wonder... LONG STORY SHORT, don't camp here. Trust me, you don't want to camp here. I hope they get in trouble from the CDC. Nathan from maintenance also mentioned they were opened the whole time during quarantine. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AS THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR HEALTH. They only want your money. We all deserve refunds for the multiple horror stories we had to experience.

You always get a decent amount of wood for 5 bucks..

Hmmf.. I guess I am only the second person or so to review on this place or at least the second showing. So I read the review before this and was like WTF? We had a most enjoyable experience. I don't know who he is talking about on the cart, but everyone seemed so nice! The only one complaint I had was our neighbors that came in the second day we were there, not going to take that away from the park though. Not their fault when some rifff raff comes in. So we arrived Friday night in the evening- just before the office closed. Came in right to our spot then checked in. No problems there. It's a family run place and we didn't have any problems at all. No fire ban when were there. It was also very clear on the website that it was an RV/Cabin place no tent camping. I wondered about this, as we wanted friends to join us but found out later no can do. That was too bad, but was fine. I think too the sitemap wasn't very intuitive when you went to look for the park map, you should have that stuff spelled out. Had to really dig around for that one. Saturday it rained, Sun we rented a boat and went out on the lake. Everything we experienced was seamless. We would definitely go back again and recommend if you are out this way. I rather liked the place. You swim and fish here.. you have to take a boat out to fish, they don't want you fishing off the pier, also you can swim at your own risk at the gravel bar area, not by the boating area.

This is a great RV park that is right on the water , it is a small place but it is quite and clean. It is not cheap but the bathrooms are EXCELLENT. They make you pay 25 cent to use the hot water but if you come here in a RV and don't want to use your Rig, then you can afford 25 cent. The bathroom is tile in ceramic and you have private showers. There is gravel roads but well maintain; all of the sites are pull thru , a good thing because after a long day of traveling, pull thru's are a good thing. There is a dock near the water and they don't want you to fish at the pier but their is a fish cleaning system. Don t worry taking your bike , because the park is too small to ride around. If you are a ham radio operator, it is a perfect place to to speak in the mic.

This was our very 1st time staying at Harmony, even our 1st RV Park in Washington. I could only give a 4 Star for a decent reason. The positives I have is the park is very well maintained, cleaned, friendly staff, lots of shade, plenty of space in each spot & beautiful views from the Lakeside spots. We will be coming back, by far the best RV Park in the 2 Years of owning our trailer. The Cons that we have is the price of the boat rental & they need to figure out how to put in a safe boat ramp. The boat rentals are pretty steep. We thought deeply about renting one as we left our boat at home, being this was our first time here & did not know what to expect. Next trip, we will be bring our own boat. $300 for about 4 hours for a Pontoon Boat 18'/20'. There is no place to swim into the lake from the shore, however, they are putting in a swimming pool. These are the only cons we have. Otherwise, Amazing Park & Staff. Extremely Clean Park, Elders are taken care of. It is a walk for Elders to the lake, so they have Gulf Carts & give them rides to the Lake. Fishing is amazing in Mayfield Lake, just watch out for the Otter that will try to take your fish, LOL. We recommend Harmony Lakeside RV Park!!! See Pictures here or on their Facebook Page.

Not a place for children. Owners are mean and disrespectful. One of the worst rv parks I've been to.

August 19-22, 2025 - Toledo, WA…read more We really enjoyed our stay at Lewis and Clark State Park. We camped on the forest side (east side), not the equestrian side. The park is divided into two sections: The forest side is where you'll find most of the standard tent/RV sites (no hookups), the group camp, kitchen shelters, and a large day-use meadow, and the equestrian side (west side), across the road, is set up for horse campers. It has full hookup sites, corrals, and direct access to horse trails, but it's more of a parking-lot style layout. Although the website notes "25 tent spaces" as first-come, first-served, we were able to make reservations months in advance for our 27' Class A motorhome. Arrival & Campsite Check-in is at 2:30 p.m. A ranger welcomed us as we unhooked our tow vehicle, and later stopped by our site with a park map and helpful information. Each site comes with a picnic table and fire ring. Our site was spacious, fairly level, and accommodated our rig easily. Trails & Atmosphere The park features several beautiful trails, including one that winds through an old-growth forest. Interpretive kiosks and signs throughout the park make for an interesting walk. While you'll hear some road noise from Jackson Highway, the tall trees and forest setting still create a peaceful atmosphere. Overall, this is a lovely campground if you're looking for a forest stay with trails to explore, just keep in mind it's not a silent wilderness escape due to nearby traffic.

August 21, 2025…read more Great Washington State Campground. Very lush and green with lots of Doulas Fir, western hemlock trees, and ferns. There are full hook up and dry camping sites. The full hook up sites are pretty sparse near the main road and there's not a whole lot of greenery. The non-hook up sites are spacious and have picnic tables and fire rings. You can reserve your site online ahead of time.

Mayfield Lake Park Review…read more We absolutely love Mayfield Lake Park and spend many weekends here during the summer camping in our little tent and chasing muskies. The staff is always friendly, professional, and hardworking, and they truly go above and beyond to make every visit enjoyable. The park is always spotless -- from the campsites to the bathrooms and park areas -- and you can tell the staff takes pride in keeping it that way. On this trip, we came across an injured feral cat near our site. Skyler responded immediately and professionally, setting a trap to help the cat. My son was able to safely get the cat into the cage, and the staff took it to an animal sanctuary. We were so impressed by how quickly and compassionately they handled the situation. Another example of their dedication happened when we accidentally left soap in the shower the night before. Ben was quick to check if it had been found (unfortunately, someone had walked off with my husband's men's Dove soap), but we appreciated his effort and quick response. We drive an hour and a half from our home to spend time at this beautiful lake, and it's always worth the trip. The staff truly deserve recognition for their dedication, hard work, and kindness. Mayfield Lake Park will always be one of our favorite places to relax, fish, and enjoy nature.

Merrill Lake Campground is a pretty awesome spot. Awesome enough that I honestly hemmed and hawed…read moreover whether to even add it to Yelp. Although my better Yelp humanitarian judgment has won out here, I still hope you read this, enjoy it, and camp somewhere else. Why? This little campground only has about 9 sites. It's free but you need a discovery pass. There is a camp host and there are surprisingly clean pit toilets on-site, but no potable water. The sites fill up fast in the summer time, but have a 3-day limit that's enforced by the friendly but vigilant camp host. I don't want it to fill up even faster now that I'm sharing this, since I do plan to hit this spot at least one more time before summer is over. There are no reservations (first-come, first-served) and the campsites are designed to work for larger groups - some of them could easily fit 7-10 tents. Each site is spaced decently well away from the others, and offers a picnic table, fire ring and places to pitch. The sites don't really offer views of the lake, they're set back in the trees, but there's plenty of shade Not too dusty, but some sites are heavy with gravel. While it's car camping, you don't drive right in to your site but park in a common lot, then walk in (the farthest you'll have to walk is about 50 yards). So no car noise up close to your site. This little campground sits just by Merrill Lake, a nice smaller lake that does not (thankfully) allow motorized boats and fishing is restricted to fly only, catch + release. For these reasons the water is calmer, cleaner, and dotted with fly fishermen and specific times of the day. At the mid-July mark the lake was warm and clear... perfect for swimming and canoeing. There are some excellent trout holes around the edges of the lake, however I'm not a fly fisherman and don't believe in torturing anything I'm not able to then eat (so catch + release is not for me). However I can see how this would be an attractive spot for a fly fisherman. This campsite is a great place to get away from PDX. Only about 1h 35m in no traffic, and the drive (especially if you come up the 503) is a nice one. Very pastoral, windy road. Get out of your house this summer and sleep under the stars. Just do it at some other campsite since this one is mine.

Plus, the lakes in California don't even amount to the lakes in Washington/Oregon. My parents went to Merrill Lake Campground on Thursday to secure us a spot which was first come first serve. They managed to get a campsite (#4) that had a direct path to the lake (not the day use where most of the guests would walk to)! It was really big, the only downside was the hill which isn't ideal with little kiddos. Also, that we couldn't have a campfire due to Washington's high alert for fires. It just wasn't the same. You do need a discovery pass which we got at a store that was twelve minutes from the campsite- Lakeside Deli. It was $11 for a day use. The scenery was amazing. It wasn't hot at all where the campsite was. It was surrounded by trees. The water was so clear and clean. The weather was perfect once we made it out of the campsite, through the trail, and to shore. Oh god, and the drive. The drive up the mountain was the scariest I've ever seen. It was beautiful, but so scary. It was a great stay (for free at that!). I recommend this lake!

Well, we were not too worried since the site next to us had no campers (July 2) and the one on the other side stayed in their TT. ... THEN the 3rd arrived. UGH! The quiet people left in the morning and were replaced by two families and the other side had a good size group. They were overall quiet but the double, if not triple family site decided to make this their grand central. They had friends from different sites visit and stay. Midnight came and went and they were still loud but I thought, well, at least the music stopped. Kind of wish the music would turn back on because they got louder and louder. 3:45 AM and they were LOUD! I didn't want to start trouble so put my DVD player on. What would have helped if knowing that 10PM or 11PM was quiet hour, why wouldn't the host drive around at midnight to check on the noise level? This was what upset me. Let me tell you that the place was nice and I'm learning that when you camp with hookups they are closer together. Okay, that would be fine, but even more reason for the host to keep an eye on the party people. The place itself is clean and neat. Don't plan on launching your boat from here (or kayak) but there is a place just 2 minutes from here where you can. That's where we went in. The lake is nice, too. --- Let me take that back, if you are brave and more experienced than me, you may be able to launch kayak. I need a boat ramp or beach. ;) The place would have seriously gotten a 5 star if not for the lack of consideration I felt that the hosts had by not checking the spots after quiet hours. BTW, yes, I know it was a holiday weekend, but come on! 3AM!!!!???!!! FYI: I would recommend this on a quieter weekend or weekday.
